He’s also encouraged actors, including one overblown diva, to rewrite not just her own lines, but her scene partners. [This star] has taken to telling others that she and Ed are the head writers.
Sorry, but this really sounds like RM. First, the dialogs and scenes for Chelsea/Dan are really awfull and amateurish. And second, they are full of how is Chelsea beautifull, hot and how much Dan loves her. It really sounds like the kind of stuff fanfiction writers writes and it is very in sync with the "OMG, it´s so amazing I´m paid to make out all the time with this hot actor" stuff RM puts on her blog lately. Plus, SP never screentested with her and unless the casting director is blind he was not hired to be paired with her. That´s very unusual when the show wants to form a longterm frontburner pairing like Dansie is.
yup, you and i are on the exact same page. i definitely don't think it's nadia. she hasn't had enough screentime to even warrant being a favorite or pet of a producer. as others have said, i don't think a veteran actress along the likes of DH, KA, LK, MBE, etc, would ever do this, knowing the strife it would cause behind the scenes and the trpuble they could get themselves into. this has got to be a younger actress. the only suspects for me are KR, and RM. the BI posted earlier points RM's way, not KR's. like others, i do think the truth lies somewhere in between, and i definitely don't think that dena is a saint. on the other hand, i do think it's likely ed scott was boffing one of the actresses, and that led to this whole debacle.
Chelsea airtime has remained the same. If she was a "pet" she would be on everyday or her screentime would of gone up drastically which is one of the few things that could substantiate the KR accusation since she has been featured a lot this summer. Like it's been said before in the thread, she's been written in to the adult stories more. At first she was supposed to be in the intern storyline that Chelsea and Morgan had with Tony and Anna.

So here is what I think it is:
1. Dena writes shit. We all know this. 2. Ed Scott reads the shit, and goes "Shit, this is shit!" So he tweaks it some. 3. Dena gets pissed. Throws a fit. 4. Ed tells her as long as she keeps writing crap, he'll always try to improve it.
TRIPP IS LOVE!!! TRIPP IS THE ULTIMATE!!!

Kate slept with Nick?
No. Billie slept with Nick. As for RM's episode counts, if you toss out January, which could have been affected by either the strike or vacation time, she's in more episodes this year.
That doesn't make any sense. January is part of 2008 PLUS the strike didn't start affecting DAYS until the end of January which was when the writers names fell out of the credits. Okay, let me try rewording it. Toss out January because it seems to be a statistical aberration. Consider "2008" to be from February through June. Then look at the numbers.

Why is January 08 any more of a "statistical abberation" than say, February 07?

Like it's been said before in the thread, she's been written in to the adult stories more. At first she was supposed to be in the intern storyline that Chelsea and Morgan had with Tony and Anna. That intern storyline lasted what, three episodes? And after that Morgan was catapulted into a front burner pairing with one of the incontestable adults--I don't see how that's much different from Chelsea getting paired with an older man. Morgan's now been pushed into the adult storylines with an older guy as well. Chelsea at least is a legacy character whereas Morgan is not related to anyone (not that that's a bad thing in and of itself, but it does make it more unusual for her to be paired up with one of the show's leading men).
As I said much earlier in this thread I doubt it's KR, as much as I want it to be, but I just don't see her case as being wildly different from the one for it being RM.
And may I just say that this thread is waaay more fun than the show has been in a long time!

You want to drop January to prove the point that it is RM because it can't be proved by the episode count otherwise. January is part of 2008 and I'm not dropping it so people can prove their points by reaching out into nowhere which is what is happening a lot. If we drop January 2008 then I guess we have to drop April 2007 because that was 9 and that was her lowest number of 2007.

actually, if you go back and look, rachel melvin's air time sky-rocketed around the time ed scott came on.
No it didn't. Rachel Melvin was already very much front burner well before Ed came aboard with Zack's death, the stuff with Nick and Willow, and Touch the Sky.
I think the poster was referring to the types of stories she was doing. She went from Teen/youth/family oriented stories to adult romance-based stories. Ed Scott didn't start having an impact on stories until late 2007. He came on in August but storylines are mapped out several months in advance so after the Sorority storyline would be the first time Ed would have had an impact on Chelsea's storyline. I really don´t want to sound like I wish RM is the one we look for, but Ken Corday himself said Chelsea and Stephanie will be the rivals in the Tony/Anna ad agencies war story. That was in the same issue where most of early Highley´s ideas were revealed.
Next, Shawn Patrick is hired, an older actor most of mags thought will be put in the storyline with Billie, who is suddenly fired. And RM informs her fans on her blog (and yes, it was her blog which broke the news first) there was a slight change in plans and Chelsea will be given her own big storyline which will really give her a chance to shine (Bo´s sickness) and the rivals will be Stephanie/Morgan instead. And from that moment on Chelsea is always in the stories on her own.

Who said it was one script? Now you guys are making things up. They have scripts, breakdowns, everything including emails! Oh...
my...
GOD.
This is HUGE!!!!
I certainly hope ET or TMZ get wind of a true soap opera scandal! We need some press for these soaps, even if it must come in this form.

Why is January 08 any more of a "statistical abberation" than say, February 07? Because it's so far off the average of the rest of the months.
2007 Jan - 14 Feb - 13 Mar - 13 April - 9 May - 10 Jun - 12 July - 15 Aug - 12 Sep - 12 Oct - 10 Nov - 10 Dec - 10
2008 Jan - 8 Feb - 15 Mar - 16 April - 11 May - 13 Jun - 14
When I look at those numbers, I wouldn't put January 2008 with the rest of 2008. I'd group iit with the last half of 2007 and take into consideration that she may have had a few vacation days in December, which would affect January's count. Obviously a storyline change happened in February to increase her episode count and the increase has been maintained.

Interesting look at things... Though that was when Higley's stuff first started airing and it doesn't look like this has gone that far back.

What I keep coming back to is the fact that everybody here seems to be treating this accusation against Ed Scott as if it's been proven to be true. It has not. And while we can speculate about it until the cows come home, a man's livelihood and reputation are at stake, and I need a little more proof than the spin of someone from the Higley camp. :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

I see a lot of people accusing people that they have knowly and vocally said they don't like especially KR because Morgan broke up Philip/Chloe and they are all mad about that. I freely admit I can't stand Morgan, but that doesn't mean there's no logical reason to speculate KR might be involved. I also specifically said I doubted it was her. Does everyone who thinks it might be RM hate her? What about those accusing Nadia? It just really irritates me when people accuse others of only saying things because they have an anti-shipping agenda, like when Chan fans claim the only reason people don't like them is because they're embittered Chick fans. It's quite possible to loathe a character and have logical reasons for that dislike.
