I'm just curious does anyone know why Tamara is leaving?? She said from the start it was short term. I think it had to do with the strike so there weren't much work.

According to her, she is committed to other projects and the role of Ava was intended to be short term. Ah, okay. Thanks!

I'm sorry, something doesn't jive here. I'm having a hard time believing that Ed Scott who has been in the industry for decades is so blatantly breaking union rules. There has to be more to it than what we've been told. I've heard that it isn't uncommon for scenes to get rewritten whiile its being taped, so how do we know that this isn't the case? How do we know that this isn't some smoke screen from Higley to try and make herself look like the victim especially since she and Corday are under investigation for their actions during the strike.
There are usually at least two sides to every story and I think we need to hear the other sides of this before we pass judgement.
Exactly! I want more information before I condemn Ed Scott. It would terrible if he's sleeping with one of the drugged up actresses and/or letting her write her own story. It just doesn't sound real. Sounds like whatever did happen has been blow up out of proportion.
Does anyone honestly think that Ed Scott would risk the wrath of MTS just to get a piece of some sweet young thang? Oh yeah. Just look at what Gov. Spitzer did.

Maybe Dena has just written her best soap story ever with this one! Maybe she made up all this stuff to take the heat off her and the WGA. If that is the case, too bad she didn't put that kind of talent and effort into Days. The show might be on top of the ratings heap. :tounge:

Phoenix, the way they worded it was "Days is getting one of Y&R's writers and executive producers." That sounds like it could be one person, sounds like it could be two people. I'm not sure. Ok. Thanks. I just thought I would ask.
I have a few people who sometimes send me stuff and I haven't gotten responses back from them since all this broke this weekend, which is rather shocking because usually they at least contact me to tell me they've heard nothing.

I just did a search for a couple of writers on Wikipedia and came across Dena Higley....check out towards the bottom part of the page what dates they have her as writer and look at who they have as the successor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dena_HigleyI know Wiki can be edited by anyone but I just found it to be interesting.... :run: LMAO...

Even if Dena Higley is behind the reveal, Ed Scott still had to do it in the first place in order for there to be something for her to turn in to the WGA.

One other thing...I still have this odd feeling Dena is involved in how this was exposed. Hell, I wouldn't even put it past her to make this into a bigger deal then it was to save face and to make her look good with the WGA and give herself an out and also get rid of Ed Scott and maybe return to Days without him there. I mean, it feels like we only got one side of this and that we are missing quite a few pieces. Whoever exposed this and turned in proof, to me, has to be someone with an ax to grind. Why else would they put all this in motion? Okay, now THAT is very plausible.

I'm surprised that we seem to be the only board talking about this at length aside from SON.

Wow, this thread keeps popping. Thanks Nelson for chiming in. I can't wait for tomorrow. I suspect tomorrow will shed light on whether Higley is still gone and what may or may not happen to Ed Scott. I don't expect names. I'm not sure if we will ever know who the actors or actresses were. I think it was Tammy who said that it is more likely we can make educated guesses off any upcoming firings or recasts. I think they will want to keep the actors/actresses under wraps. Thanks OBK for the info you provided too. I just want to ask to see if you could clarify but do you know if they said a Y&R executive producer AND writer was coming to Days or an EP/HW. If it's two people, then that would suggest Scott is out. That is why I ask. One thing that I have to question is why Ed Scott would be this stupid. He's been in the business for years. He has to know what can and can't be done and he doesn't strike me as one who would do something that could get him in hot water if he is caught. That alone is shocking to me. Also, the diva and other two actors/actresses who were involved to me have to be people who aren't industry savvy, which is why they have to be quite young to me. I just can't see a vet whose been in daytime for years doing something stupid like that because they should know the rules and what can and can't be done. That is why I can't see it being SN and MBE. They've been rather open about how the ad-lib and tweak things so I would say they know how far they can go if they've been doing it for so long. Nelson, I don't expect details and don't want to hound you. I appreciate everything you've done and the info you provide. I just want to know what to expect tomorrow. Is this going to clarify some things or is this just going to give us more info and give us even more questions? That is what doesn't jive for me, why would ES do something so wrong? I get that he may have been going to an extreme to save the show but his career extends beyond the show, so why risk it?
More information is needed.

#2 - This actress on an NBC soap kind of came out of the woodwork and rocketed up the ladder on this soap. She keeps getting more and more lines and lets everyone know it. She has no friends on the set except for the producers she sleeps with and she doesn't share the coke she vacuums up like a Hoover. Rachel Melvin who plays Chelsea on "Days of Our Lives" I saw this a month ago on a Blind Items site. There was nothing to attach itself to at the time, so I took it with a grain of salt. It seems pretty salacious now, but you never know. Here's the site I saw it on: http://www.agcwebpages.com/BLINDITEMS/2008/MAYJUNE.html and here's the site it originated from: http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2008/06/todays-blind-items_25.html
Did you write in RM's name or did they? They did. Like I said, I saw the "blind item" about a month ago, and you can check the results on the links I included.

Terry is probably contacting Ken Corday for the position and considering it's Corday he may consider it  . Yeah, I kind of have a feeling like that also. But the problem is that she snuck behind the WGA and its rules when it suited her - so it feels like a desperate measure. Also, why break this when Corday is on vacation? Did he know about it?

Just had a thought. Brenda Dickson didn't exactly say the nicest of things about Scott in her recent blog post (including giving all the good material to the girl he was boinking) and was also mentioning that sometimes what Bill Bell had written wasn't exactly showing up on screen the way it was written. Most everyone just dissmissed Dickson as being a whackjob (which still may be true), however, in light of today, I think it bears further consideration.
Matt, I think you may be on to something, maybe this could be the thing to REINVIGORATE her CAREER!!! I agree and as I pointed out earlier Brenda Dickson wasn't the only actress jealous of Ed Scott and the actress he was boinking.
Ed Scott has a good record in what shows up onscreen but not in how he does things. But I guess it is just easier for people to believe the worst of some people in the industry than it is others.
But the rumors have been out there for awhile - some of it was swept under the rug and just never got that much publicity.
It is weird that many are so adamant about protecting Ed Scott's reputation but at the same time no one except the fan girls are worried about protecting the actresses reputations. So many actresses have had their names dragged through the mud today but no one seems that concerned about it.
Personally I think they are all game including Ed who to me is not as pure as most people want to think he is from the rumors that have gone around for years.

I just can't see Ed being that desperate. Even if he had sex with an actress or whatever, it's just a bit much. He broke union rules to save a show he's been at for about a year? I mean, he can find another job. I would buy him doing this for Y&R because he was there forever. I just can't see it for Days. Hell, I can't see it at all. Sure, sometimes people do things and doubt they will get caught but knowing full well Days was already under investigation for the strike stuff, why would he take such risks? Days was already under a microscope so it's an even bigger risk. It's just hard to imagine someone like Ed doing that and taken so many risks with the higher then normal probabilities that he would be caught. Something isn't adding up and it's not just me defending Ed. I feel like there is a missing link and I wouldn't be surprised if it somehow has to do with Higley and her wanting to get Scott out and trying to make herself look more favorable to the WGA and others. We already know she hates criticism so maybe she figured she could make herself look like a victim and make herself more endearing to fans. There are just so many questions.
