Wow!

I'm trying to wrap my mind around all this.

I don't understand how this could've happened. Did Corday know and he was just allowing it to happen, or was he kept in the dark about it? What does this mean for Ed Scott? Did he do this behind Corday's back? What does this mean for the actors?

Three Days actors have been writing their own stories and dialogue? Um... what the hell? Is there no order behind-the-scenes at Days anymore or what?! Is it just a cluster fuck free-for-all where rules are not followed and everybody's just flying by the seat of their pants? How the hell could Corday allow this to happen? Is he really that out of touch with his show?

Dena Higley is NOT a good writer, but this wasn't the way to go about fixing the problem. You don't just undermine a person's stories and let the actors write all their own material. I'm also stunned by this news because there are so many Higley trademarks I've been seeing on the screen. She's still had her hands in the mix, IMO. Too much of what I've seen just screams Higley. As much as I love the idea of her being shown the door, this just isn't the way to go about it. There are rules and guidelines that people have to follow, and I can't believe that Ed Scott has given the okay for pretty much everyone to just write their own stuff as they went along. Is that what Days has been reduced to -- improvisational storytelling? They've pretty much told the WGA to kiss their asses, they're going to do whatever the hell they want. Fools, all of them!

How the hell are they going to get out of this mess? They've already had the WGA investigating Higley, and now they've got the WGA investigating pretty much the entire damn show! The legal trouble they could get into for this is pretty massive, and although I'm not familiar with what the price to be paid is for situations like this, I can't imagine it's looking good for the show's money issues.

God.

This is a MESS!

...and we still don't know the status of Higley or if she's being replaced.
great post kenny and before it slips my mind again...congrats on the record most users online...

i agree IF any other of the powers that be wanted certain writing aspects to change they should have went thru dena to make those changes, i am a supporter of the artist having the creative control over their craft, if they cant cut it on their own writing good storyline, then show them the door, but dont go over their head or behind their backs and change it all on your own with a actor/actors help, writers should write, producers should produce and actors should act and if any of them cant do their job, replacement!

at the same time i would like to see teamwork to make the show great, a certain amount of comradery...i would quit as a head writer if i was being blackballed...they basically had dena in a bad position to begin with being in trouble with WGA for going fi-core...am i right? i wonder if that was used as ammo againest dena and possible corday for certain others to achieve their goals

I think what Ed Scott did was really underhanded. Show him the door and he can take his pet actress with him - I don't care who it is.
i am not gonna go that far just yet, i want to hear ed scotts side if he chooses to give it...before i totally condemn anyone but i do have to eat my fair share of crow when it comes to my thoughts and words about dena at this point :wow:

The blind item involving coke has NOTHING to do with it. And that blind item was poorly written if this site is so credible they would of done some fact checking to realize that NBC only has one soap so saying "This NBC actress..." was dumb. They clearly thought NBC had more then one soap so they must of though Passions was still on NBC.
well, i'm still sticking by CD&N's credibility on this one. they just said this actress on an nbc soap.... yea sure, maybe they thought they were being more vague since most networks have several soaps and not just one, but the BI couldn't have been about a passions actress. they were done filming that show well before this was posted.

i'm not sure that this has anything to do with what's going on now, and i feel bad for speculating that it was RM if she's totally innocent, but i still think there's something to that BI. it wasn't made up out of nowhere.
The show is still on the air. I read gossip shit all the time and have never heard of this site but if they are so great they would of written their blind item better.

I honestly can't think of any of the cast thinking they can re-write a script - who would have the time? Plus it just must be one character and their scenes that are being re-written. Ed Scott must have taken a special liking to a particular character or actress? Any guesses???????
For while I thought he was banging KR/Morgan...But now I am wondering if its Ari....Nicole is suddenly in everything...She is now a main player and before when Higley wrote for her she was just a side added character for angst....It all makes you go hmmmm.....I wish Nelson would tell us who the actress is.
If Ari and Ed are writing Nicole's scripts - Damm they are good!
not in my opinion i am afraid, i miss the bad ass bitch nicole, she was smart, ran major cooperations by herself, bucked up againest victor on her own and won, now she is weak. like a damsel in distress or something, i hate it, JMO she seems dumbed down to the point where she is getting advice from a dimera on going back to school, making something of her life, nicole never needed anyones help to get what she wanted, cause she had the gumption.

yes, passions is on the air, but it finished taping long, long ago. like back in april or may or something. they're only showing like 2 or 3 epis a week on direct tv so they can stretch them out until august. ergo, the BI couldn't be about a passions actor.

and it's not about writing it better. they're not going to come out and say "this DOOL actress," or what-have-you.... they always try to make things vague for liability reasons. so they say crap like, this a-list actress who was recently divorced, or this cbs prime-time star, etc etc. they don't deal with soap stuff unless it's really juicy, and like i said, the blogger most likely assumed that nbc had more than one soap on at the time of the posting.

Let me preface by saying I am a longtime DAYS fan and this is my first post on any message board. I felt I must speak out after reading all of these nasty, heartless posts on this site. Not a single person on this board knows what is really going on at DAYS, yet so many have decided to use some mean-spirited gossip to run rampant on many innocent people. Dena Higley, Ed Scott and all of the actors and actresses mentioned in so many vicious posts have FAMILIES, have FEELINGS and do not deserve to have their reputations trashed by people who are not in any sort of know. If you were really a fan of the show, you would stop perpetuating this trash and go back to your real lives.

"Blind item" can easily be interchanged with "Unsubstantiated Lie."

^^I agree about the blind item.

The stuff about KR and RM was unneccessary and cruel and some little things were stretched to fit someones story.

Though it is an unfortunate side effect when you are in the business people will feel the need to do that stuff.

uh, you're darn right i'm a fan of the show. i read this BI over a month ago, and never mentioned it or brought it up anywhere until the crap hit the fan last night. to me at that time, it all seemed to fit with what nelson reported. and if it were true, it meant some actress and producer were throwing MY beloved show under the bus so they could further her career, do drugs, have sex, whatever they were doing, i don't care. i'm not saying it was true, or wasn't true, but when a show i love is at stake because of it, you're damn right i'm gonna speculate on who might be behind it. if actresses/actors can't handle speculation at a time like this (and just about every actor and actress as been suspected at this point) then i suggest they stay off the message boards.

and for the record, it was not just RM and KR recieving flak. some pretty nasty things were said about SH and NB, and AZ and DH...shit just about everybody.

I agree with HourGlassFan, and the only person I feel the need to "trash" as it were is Higley and her work speaks for itself I believe.

And by the way "freedom of speech" in the constitution applies to speaking the truth. Spreading lies and malicious gossip about someone without substantial facts is liable and you can get sued for it.

I don't see the need to get so overly upset over something that is probably a rumor at best and at worse something blown totally out of proportion.

Hi! I'm new here, but this thread has been fascinating! Much more interesting than the show right now.

About the actress, I think I understand what you're implying, but it doesn't make any sense to me. I can see why she'd want to, and why Ed Scott would let her. But how would this person have the time?

I don't get the blind items connection with any of this especially with the top actress part. Every figured the Blind Item was a younger actress and I am sorry but I don't see any criteria that any of them would qualify at Top Actor. It was another thing stretched to fit some crazy story people made up to bring down some they don't like.

ok I'm so trying to catch up and wrap my brain around what's being said - but I'm not doing too good of a job with either...

Please help... this is kinda what I think I'm reading (my blonde head is hurting sooo badly from this!!)

This material, supposedly written by E. Scott and the NBC "pet" blonde (and a couple of other actors) probably isn't being aired yet? Or if it is, it's just recently started airing? So they most likely haven't been behind the bed switching boredom and lack of any kind of storyline to get even half way excited about?

It could be that dh is trying to get E. Scott fired? Even though Nelson noted there's supposed to be proof (that ES and the other have been writing).

The script writers (as well as both head writers) are having their work basically trashed or at the very least re-written? And by non WGA writers, and thus the WGA is getting ready to step in? Any idea to what extent they've been messing with the writers - as in more with dh's stories or more with the dialogue (or both)?

This actress has actually been going around *saying* she and ES are the show's headwriters? (Wow, that has to have been going over well with the rest of the cast!! NOT!!)

Corday hasn't had a clue this has been going on and plans on getting dh back? Or if he has known he's not fessing up to it and is saying he'll get dena back?

Does anyone remember this ever happening before?? (aside from the other show being mentioned by Nelson)

What are the odds of the show being canned due to this (as in this on top of the financial losses, bad ratings, etc)??

Sorry for being so dense :( And TYIA for any help :wub2:

What happens if the material in question hasn't even started airing yet, and when it does, it's totally awesome?

That's why it is so hard to believe. I think if any part of it is true that it's been way overblown by people spinning it as negatively and badly as possible.
