Overall, you definitely walk away sensing how close or accessiblein some sense that she is to her fans and how special she is to many of them. So many of the calls had great references - a bunch of the fans sending the video of them drinking a beer with an egg (from a classic early S&K scene) and MBE remembering her name, her noting some of the great friendships that had been developed among the fans around the country, etc.
Yay to the news about Steve getting a job. And it is the type of job that I know MANY of fans have been writing in and advocating for him. :)
It was interesting to hear how positively she thougth ATWT was run. Without her saying anything about Days, I think it shows how Days is so much NOT run that way. LOL at her comment that they (at ATWT) make sure things (storyline wise I took it to mean) make sense and there is a strong leader at the helm.
It was cute to hear how she and Kristian are always chatting and gossiping it up. And MBE made the specific comment that there are not any divas or drama (among the actors I took it to mean). Whether it is 100% true or not, I get the impression that MBE is just so positive that she will have positive perceptions.
Of course, it is always so nice to hear how close she and Stephen are. In every interview you will see with either of them (including Stephen's blog), they never miss a chance to compliment each other. You can tell there is a lot of respect and trust in their relationship.
Very sweet to hear how she and Stephen love to work with the real babies. It was interesting to hear how the script called for a doll to be used in some particular park scenes but Stephen went to the producer to get the real babies involved in some part of the scene.
You can tell that she misses the times when you got to do rehearsals on soaps and receive more feedback before shooting the actual scenes. But she stated that her and Stephen still work hard to run their lines and think about their scenes before they do them. I think it shows - their scenes do feel very natural to me.
Higley-gate drama aside, it was great to hear how she and Stephen really do try to fight for their characters when they can, with the Ava fallout as an example. Many of the S&K fans speculated that MBE and SN had done some tweaking in the fallout scenes because some of the references were just too right on and it hit most of the points that their fans had been frustrated about (lack of clarity when Steve recognized Ava, abandonment issues, etc.) - it was some of their better dialogue all year. So it was interesting to hear from MBE that the original dialogue was emotionally thin and general so she and Stephen did tweak to make it stronger where they felt they could.
I thought it was interesting when MBE acknowledged that the actors were never really told if and when they would have some upcoming story as well as any character directions that might be in the works from the writers. She noted that having that information ahead of time could help the actors with acting choices as well as having better motivation.
