||I see you can move messages to your archive but how do you delete them altogether?|

||There isn't a way to delete them completely, and I don't know why that is. All you can do is archive them......|

sorry this is a bit late, but you can actually delete your PM's all you do is put the ones that you want to delete in the archive section then there should be the delete option...See the picture below:
