I'm not upset in the least. RB is a very talented actor, but Trent was a poorly developed, repetitive character, IMO. I won't miss him. |

What exactly was said about him in the Jossip thread? I don't have time to read through 15,000 posts to find it, LoL! |

Not suprising. I never thought he would be around that long. I am not too bothered by this. |

Thank you Kitty. That loon just torments the boards with his incessant insanity. Too bad about Born, but the rumor that the BI was about him seemed solid. He is a very good actor. But DOOL does not need anyone problems than it already has. Edited by pspcindy, Aug 18 2008, 02:34 PM.

Born is a great actor, but the character was poorly created and written badly since his debut. I feel that Trent made Max interesting, but brought Nicole down so much lower than she was. The character really ruined Nicole in my eyes in the short amount of time that he was there. He just brought her down for me. I'm glad he's gone. I hope the rumors of a murder mystery are true. |

I don't want a muder mystery, it has been done so many times with the bad guys being the victims. I would rather see him cause chaos and terror before dying. |

Okay, for those of you asking, a post in the Jossip thread said that Born was very disliked and has had a problem with drug use. I don't know if that drug problem is current or a past issue, or even if it's accurate. There is also a recent blind item about a vet actor who recently joined a show, who caused trouble on the set by being late and not knowing his lines. I'm guessing this is Born because it's not the first time I've heard something like this about him. I don't know if any of you saw Born as the prison warden on Passions but he was REALLY over the top. |

Hmm, no wonder he plays the smarmy bastard part a little too well, LoL. |

I said this on another board, but I'll repeat it here. I honestly think the last time Born actually played a real three-dimension character was Robert/Quinn on SB. Otherwise? Terrible Tom, Mitch Laurence, and the prison warden on Passions (ETA: add Jim on AMC to that list) might as well be Trent, just with different wardrobes. He lost his appeal to me a long time ago. That being said, I still think his portrayals of Robert Barr and Quinn Armitage were nothing short of AWESOME. Edited by brimike, Aug 18 2008, 03:13 PM.

I never saw him as Robert/Quinn on SB, but you're right in saying that he always plays the same "type" of character. In his defense though, he plays that "type" damn well. He creeped me the fuck out as Mitch Laurence. He reminded me of a cult leader or something, LoL. Then as Terrible Tom, he was just such a smarmy, no good bastard and as usual, it seemed as if he played the part a little too well. Trent Robbins has definitely been his weakest role yet. |

Kenny, he managed to play two characters who were both villainous, but COMPLETELY different in their villainy. Robert was manipulative and dark and edgy, but romantic... whereas Quinn was just psychotic. It was a much different from the usual soap double role of "hero/villain" that usually happens. And somehow, Born played them VERY differently, even in terms of their mannerisms. I might be biased, because I saw it in my youth (and we all know how we idealize the soaps from our youth), but I remember it being VERY suspenseful, and completely believable. He genuinely CREATED two very different characters, and it worked on-screen. That's the only reason I know underneath all of his personal BS, he's definitely got talent. I just wish he could tap into it again. Such a shame... |

Ahh, that sounds interesting. I always like to see a dual role that's different than the usual "saintly good guy vs. crazy psycho bad guy" schtick. I'll have to look for some of it on YouTube. |

Why do they have to say he was "fired" and create more drama. He wasn't a long term player was he? He must have gotten on Higley's nerves or something. I feel so sorry for everybody that works there right now. |

I'm kinda glad. I've hated Robbins since day one. I've heard these rumors about Born for years. I think I read that this was why he was fired from SANTA BARBARA too. |

I think this is definitely setting up a murder mystery for September sweeps. I could see a list of suspects including Nicole, EJ (to protect Nicole), Max, Stephanie, Melanie, Nick, and Steve. Of course, it will end up being some random day player, but it could still provide an interesting story. |

I hope they don't go the route of a murder mystery. It's far too predictable. But then, considering who's writing, it would be perfectly in line with just about everything else... |

I, too, have heard those rumors about Born for eons. I think he's even done interviews in the past about his drug addiction (I seem to clearly remember one in SOD several years ago. It was either during 'The City' or his last return to OLTL, I forget). If I remember correctly, I think it was a factor in his divorce from Roberta Bizeau (who played Flame on SB while he was Robert/Quinn). |
