GET EM STEPH!!

Toups just posted these at SON for Days.

2.4 +.5 in HH
1.3 +.3 in 18-49
1.1 +.4 in 18-34

What a difference a strong lead-in can make although I'm sure the stories helped a bit as we did have a big event with Stefano. Hopefully, these numbers are the same for this week. I actually hope Days counted the numbers now. Even if they didn't, it's still impressive. Hopefully, some fans stay after it's all over although somehow I doubt it.

ETA: Oops...sorry kserox. We posted at the same time  .

I figured DOOL did good since I saw that interview with Deidre Hall.

Ratings always plummet the week before Labor Day. People have too much going on.

The optimistic part of me hopes this stabilizes Days for a bit like the plane crash did. Days lived off that event for a few months and held around a 2.0-2.1. I would take any holdover, even minimal.

LoL, I swear to God, you kill me. Always a reason, always an excuse. ;)

The ratings will plummet because the show sucks and the rise this week is a total fluke. Isn't this a .5 rise? No surprise that this comes during the time that Ed Scott's re-write material begins airing, LoL. Get a clue, Corday!

Pretty pathetic that a .5 rise only lands them at a 2.4 rating these days. Sad.

I can't get too excited, because I fear we're not under the same writers....and the ratings will plummet once again!! I hope not though, the past two weeks have been VERY good!!

Once Higley's stuff comes back on, we'll be right back at a 1.9-2.0.

Even GL will be kicking DOOL's ass in the ratings.

Holy Shit! We went from a 1.9 to a 2.4? Are we in 2nd place yet? That is awesome! I was wondering how the Olympics would affect the ratings.
Now, if we could just hold on to that momentum...and yes, I doubt it, but that is some good news!

Just so glad to hear something positive about Days!! I'll take whatever!

Haha, oh the irony! Ed Scott, who was just fired for rewriting Higley's material, gets DAYS their biggest rise in months. But Corday chose to keep Hiley over him, who will no doubt drive DAYS back to 2.0. Enjoy it while it lasts, DAYS, at 2.5. You won't be there for long.

I think Days just took the perfect opportunity and ran with it. Given that I'm sure they knew the Olympics would have a huge lead-in effect, the show put on recognizable, very strong talent all week, and improved the writing so much. I have no doubt the ratings will decline after the Olympics, but I'd hope the show did permanently gain back some lapsed viewers. Of course, Dena will lose them eventually, but I hope it provides a nice bounce for a little while.

That's just what ticks me off. TPTB see that DAYS usually goes up in the ratings when popular characters are featured, yet they would rather plague us with the newbies and characters that fans are annoyed with.

Couldn't agree more. And you know what else? It's the summer! Yet ratings have gone up without a teen beach moment all week. I'm sure they're totally perplexed by that, lol.

I love hearing that the show rose no matter WHAT the reason! I'm on a delay with the show and I was being told, mistakenly, that DAYS was being PRE-EMPTED for much of the Olympics coverage! I even posted a little lament about that last week! I'm so glad to be wrong and so sad that the people who foresee a drop are probably right! Why did this backstage melodrama have to play out NOW? This would be the perfect time for improved material to keep some of those numbers up!

Come on people, even if Dena Higley wrote the stories last week the show would have risen easily because of the Olympics. If this week was a non influenced Olympic week, I doubt it would have risen more than .1 in the HH numbers.

I have read the spoilers coming up and I am not pleased with them and I would be surprised if DAYS didn't go right back to 1.8-1.9 within 2 weeks after the Olympics. Why does Higley continue to HW this show, it pisses me the fuck off?

I was at a subshop today and DAYS was on because no one got up to turn the station after the Olympics. It was fun to watch and see if anyone was watching and I would say about a third of everyone was watching. One lady commented on how Kayla was acting like a fool, I had to laugh at her saying that. I doubt DAYS holds onto many of these strangling viewers, but any gain these days are more than needed.
