So Mo/Tues material was very diff than the We-Fri stuff...and ratings reflect that... Since the ratings boost from olympics declined each day over 2 wk period...and DOOL surged late week, seems to me that DOOL draws larger eyeballs-- period-- when they feature vets...

Wonder what daily demos were, because the week was way out of whack on day-by-day basis. Hard to tell what complexion of viewers accounting for surges were.

I also wonder what the 'viewer trade-off' between DOOLvOLTL and DOOLvAMC is...since starting mid-Sept, that's what they will be contending with in biggest market. Thoughts?

Not surprised that DAYS fell after its surge last week. Plus, last week wasn't as good as the week before that, IMO.

I had a feeling the film noir stuff and the way they focused on that only for two days with no hospital story would backfire. Seriously, the hospital story got all the high numbers. I'm beginning to think that while the Olympics helped, that story appealed to people because the numbers do suggest that. Days should've mixed more hospital in on the Monday and Tuesday episodes or maybe should've pulled in more characters because it's clear that even the week of nothing but hospital stuff the show dragged toward the end of that week because they had nothing left to do with who they were using and they had to keep it going for another couple of episodes. Maybe having more things going on would've helped. More characters around reacting or more classic flashbacks or something. Relying on just film noir I think hurt the show. I liked it but it was a mistake.

Having said that, it's a good sign the show held strong in 3rd with the numbers it got. The Olympic ratings were down that week so it's still a nice showing. I just hope it can hold around a 2.0-2.1 like it did for awhile after the plane crash. They got mileage out of that back then and hopefully they will now. The show had alot going on this week so I think they did their job but it's also, historically, a bad week for shows usually ratings-wise with colleges back in session, the last chance at vacations for many, summer winding down, Labor Day, etc. It will be interesting to see what happens next week.

AMC better promote the hell out of that tornado though. They need a big boost in a hurry.

ABC daytime is just hurtin'. Dang.

I am glad for DAYS, even though they dropped a bit. They managed to hold onto the majority of their bump. I hope it lasts.

Congrats to John and Marlena, their episode brought the highest ratings during the week..Wednesday-2.4...that is no coincidence..

I'm happy for Days  nice to see them stay at #3 for a change.

Yeah, as far as Days, the Nicole show isn't pulling in the #s. That noir fantasy was stupid and the only thing I enjoyed about it was seeing EJ and Sami in a couple scenes together. Focusing on Jarlena and EJami definitely help the ratings. Why the show doesn't see that, I can't explain. Makes no sense.

OLTL has its good stuff right now but the Rex & Mimi show isn't making it happen and they need to realize that their story needs to be scaled back.

Thanks Rak! I will link to my site, I have been wondering what they were...You rock!

The problem with the film noir stuff is that it didn't really do anything to progress the stories. Stand alone shows only work if they are big family gatherings with lots of flashbacks and visits from characters not ususally seen.

Days still lost 200,000 viewers and while they are in third place, that isn't good for the show.
