Oh, SHIT. I was watching episode 5 and now I'm scared, LoL. The show was going fine for me until that scary Lorena chick showed up. I skipped over most of it when I started to figure out she was probably a vamp...and the CRAZY look on her face when she shows Bill his family. What's up with the cape? Good god. That was straight out of the movie The Others. So much for sleep tonight! |

I'm pretty sure it was Maryann too. She's a Maenad (?), or something. |

I was trying to figure out what Maryann could be and I was thinking she definitely is something to do with Greek or Roman Mythology, or both because they're so similar! She has that painting or sculpture thing by the pool that was of Aphrodite I thing and then in the last episode where she was having the party or something, the camera zoomed up on a Statue that clearly looked like a Greek sculpture. At first I thought maybe she was Aphrodite because of how she affects people and gets them all horny, but then I thought maybe she's a Bacchus like creature. Bacchus essentially was the God of wine, ecstasy and ritual madness. |

I cannot believe I never saw this thread. I absolutely love "True Blood". I have read most of the Sookie books and they are good but cannot compare to the show. I think Alan Ball has really done wonderful things with the new twist on a vampire tale. Six Feet Under was just an exercise in depression for me. I tried to like it but the gloom that overlaid the show was too oppressive for me. I am one of those who like Anna Paquin. Most every role I have seen her in, I enjoyed. The spark of real life chemistry between Paquin and Moyer comes through very strongly on the show, which is unusual. They both seem quite uninhibited and happy to play all the beats with the relationship of Bill and Sookie. Season one was very good, however, season two is even better. The scene in episode two with Eric and Royce was raw and very graphic. Showing the darkest side of the vampire was daring and brave of AB. As Eric is featuring more this season, it is nice to see layers of the character emerge. I was dumbfounded that Eric did not shower or even wash his face before having Pam continue with his cut and highlights. Btw, his hair is much nicer now, really it is more of AS's real self, than Eric. I'll join the line of those who think it was Maryann who attacked Sookie. Her motivation was Sookie inviting Tara to live with her. The plan Maryann has for Tara seems to be very important. It is nice to see a softer side of Tara, but she is quite funny and I have missed that this year. Lafayette's return was welcome and I think has a lot to do with NE's popularity with the audience. His quirky character and great delivery were too good to throw away. Who will be sorry Miss Jeanette is gone? Not me-foul creature, con artist. I am loving Jessica and Hoyt's budding romance. And what a surprise Molly Burnett was. Her voice was quite pleasant and I wish she could be recurring on the show. I would suspect the FOS theme to be ever present through the series. Jason and the Molly character would make a good couple. I am not a fan of Daphne, as I do not like AJ's Bridget on B&B. But since she is involved w/Sam it's okay. Sam is not my favorite at all. I just can't see Sookie with a dog. LOL The break this week is foul and mean. But I suppose we will all be anxious for the next episode when we tune in on July 12th. Also, when Sookie could hear her thoughts, I believe they were in Greek. Sookie inquired about her 'accent', and Maryann claimed she was from elsewhere down South...clearly not the case. I agree, she's some sort of Bacchus like-aphrodesiac. This show is great! |

Another True Blood fan here. I'm currently reading the books but I think the series is better. It's similar but different. Is there anywhere I ca find this leaked pilot with Whitney in it? It has to be good for a hoot. |
