SOW: Nicole's past with Trent exposed

Please link to DR:

Nicole's happiness over reconciling with EJ is short-lived this week, when Bo and Hope force her to admit the truth about Trent: She's still married to him!

"At this point, the situation with EJ is so second fiddle," says Arianne Zucker (Nicole). "Now that the truth is out about Trent, Nicole could lose everything - her whole divorce settlement from Victor."

But before Nicole faces the possibility of being left penniless, she and EJ face off about what she did to Sami. Namely, calling the cops on her. "Nicole says she was just helping out the law," recounts Zucker. "Sami was about to do something illegal and abduct her daughter."

EJ agrees Sami is out of control, and the conversation turns to Nicole's predicament with Trent. "EJ suggests Nicole take all her money and leave for some island," notes Zucker. "Nicole says, 'Why would I go so some island when I have no one to share it with? I'd be bored out of my mind.'"

The pair go back and forth as EJ assumes Nicole would like to share her island paradise with him. "They play that game of, 'she wants him, he wants her,' but no one is going to come out and say it," explains Zucker. "It's a beat-around-the-bush conversation."

EJ finally admits the idea of running off with Nicole is tempting, but he can't leave Salem, since his son is there. However, the twosome do discuss going on a date. "EJ and Nicole have never had one. All they've had are encounters," points out Zucker, who's character is truly touched by the prospect. "With the exception of Eric, Nicole has never experienced anything like this."

Nicole bliss over her potential date with EJ quickly dissipates when she runs into Bo and Hope, who begin questioning her about Trent.

"Nicole's definitely hesitant. She doesn't admit anything by choice," notes Zucker. "But Bo and Hope tell her they've investigated, and know Trent married (porn star Misty Circle). Nicole ends up explaining everything, that she married Trent under (that alias), the marriage turned ugly, and she left. She was young and dumb and just assumed Trent filed for divorce, but he never did."

With her big secret out, and to Victor's son, no less - Nicole realizes she's in huge trouble. "Nicole spent all that time with Victor, and now she might get nothing for it," sighs Zucker. "Who cares about dating EJ? Nicole may lose all her money!"

Good to see where Nicole's priorities are! Bitch!

Nicole has always viewed money as a way to protect her from abusive men so I don't see anything bitchy about making that her priority.

Thanks Jonny!

But really, SOW could talk about another character.

How about who is leaving and rumored to leave? Nah, that might be real news.

Hey, Cindy, not much new Days news in this week's magazines. They repeat again about Matt Borlenghi coming in as Salem's new mayor. A small blurb about Kristen Renton leaving, also saying "Sources say this is just the first of several cast cuts." Nothing we didn't know. For the past week Days' news seems to be in suspended animation.

I have to agree with this statement. THIS IS typical Nicole NOT the moron we've seen for the past few months. She's always been a golddigging whore first and romantic feelings always came in last with her.

Thanks, Jonny!

For Nicole, it's always about the money - she should be a gold digging whore - it's what she does best.

I'm just sick of the plot point writing on this show - Nicole is but one character that has been changed to suit story at the moment. It's hard to feel passionate about DAYS when they insist on building to events, instead of really exploring a character.

Why am I surprised though? Dena has been pretty consistent - build to events (or sweeps), and then put out crap in between.

:hail: Thanks Jonatha! BEST NEWS I've heard from DAYS in a long time!
I love that EJ is tempted to get out of Salem and run off with Nicole. Notice he only mentioned his son as a reason to stay and NOT SAMI!

EJ and Nicole have the best on screen chemistry of any of the new couples so TPTB are making a wise choice moving them forward.

Does it surprise me that Nicole will focus on her desire to keep her settlement? No, because in Nicole's mind as long as she has money she has the power to control her own destiny and after all of the abuse she's suffered its no wonder.

:cheer: EJOLE!

I wouldn't cozy up to EHOLE....err....EJOLE just yet. Remember Ari's quote:
Quote:

"At this point, the situation with EJ is so second fiddle," says Arianne Zucker (Nicole).

Nicole has bigger fish to fry. Also, who knows maybe Ari is one of the actresses that has been pink slipped.

EJ doesn't think of Nicole as a gold digger because she wants to keep Victors money. He didn't judge her and tell her she should give the money back. Instead he kissed her on the head and thanked her for telling him the truth and offered to help her as a friend . Of course now they'll have to putt their date on hold because he's going to have to help her as her attorney, but it shouldn't take too long for him to fix things because I don't think her marriage to Trent was legal. Nicole married Trent under an alias. Find it and fix it EJ so Nicole can thank you properly. :smooch:

:huh1: I'm sorry are their spoilers or a leaked script you've been reading? This scenario that you refer to is not what Ari talked about in this interview.

I totally agree ilovemydays
Ejole hell yes! :cheer: The sexiest and most electric chemistry of any couple on Days right now.
As for Nicole's determination to maintain her settlement, that is what I would expect from her, just like I didn't expect her to suddenly turn her back on the money when she first divulged her past with Trent to EJ. Nicole has been abused, sexually and emotionally, by men her whole life, whether it was her father, strangers, or her husbands. Money is accompanied by power, and with that power she feels better equipped to protect herself from abuse.

I'm with you. I think EJ and Sami are pretty washed up, personally. They have a chance to start something new with Nicole. But, once again, I think sentiments for or against are running along "party lines", if you get my drift. ;)
I think Arianne Zucker has done an outstanding job of bringing out the layers of Nicole. And, why does it have to be "once a *******, always a ********?" That's just sad. Certainly, there have been other characters on Days who have had less than savory backgrounds, only to be redeemed. Well, take EJ for one! And, I think they've done a halfway decent job of redeeming Nicole, even if her priorities are still screwed up. It's an improvement.
Kudos to Ponz for her summation of money protecting Nicole from being abused by men. This character's past abuse isn't even being taken into consideration by some, and I say yay for them at least trying to write her rising above it.

Ladyofthelake, if we ever bumped heads I'd like to beg your forgiveness. When it comes to EJole IA with you completely.

I have to admit that I was so sick of EJamicus that I might have been willing to give EJ and nearly any female on the show a try but IMO JS and AZ click so incredibly well that I'm actually afraid to root for them. I'm a bit gun shy about choosing new couples to cheer for so I'll enjoy EJ and Nicole for as long as they are together. If the writing for them changes and the couple falls apart than so be it. I'll consider myself lucky that in the past few months I've had more to enjoy about EJole than the entire two years of EJamicus crap.

It was fine point Ponz, given Nicole's past it makes sense that she is reacting the way she is. Its just another example of how wonderfully they are writing for Nicole by handling her past issues realistically. I love all of the layers they've given her and I suspect that there are even more to come.
