Monday killed Days. Monday can set the tone for the whole week and, regardless of the reasons, showing a recap show was dumb. That episode had the lowest number and the show slowly recovered during the week in viewers. The show should have either publicized it being a recap show or not done it at all. Viewers in the know turned out and it turned others off. Last week, after that disaster of a Monday, was good but I'm not surprised. Days and so many soaps were doing so well for awhile. I expect rebounds for Days and some others this week. I was actually expecting these kind of numbers from late August on so the fact that Days and other soaps did well is a success in my eyes. The sad part is Days is still up from where it was last year, which I guess says alot about last year. Days was still dealing with the time slot change in some areas too last year at this time from what I recall. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Sep 26 2008, 02:15 AM.

I'm not surprised last week DAYS seemed like filler to me .... story stall syndrome. It got the big ho hum from me. Plus I think that would have been filmed about the time everyone got back from their break and Ed Scott was gone new guy starting. |

Whoa! What a huge drop for DAYS. That Monday rerun was a stupid, idiotic move and it shows in the ratings. I'm sure AMC thanks DAYS, their ratings went up. I don't get why GH continues to be #3, they should be around where DAYS is this week. |

For me the film noir has little to do with why I think Days deserves these numbers. Simply put, I don't recongize this show anymore. The characters I once loved are not themselves and are people that I don't really like (Sami, Marlena, Lucas, John) and there is too much focus on characters that are relatively new (Melanie, Stephanie, Chelsea, Trent, Daniel and Max). There is just so little that interests me these days that I'd rather watch news shows and the drama surrounding the election than most of what is being served up as Days. |

I hope GL will bounce up back by some miracle... I was observing the production this week and it was okay. The only problem I had was with the outdoor scenes. This show is filming everything outside and it's getting on my last nerves. We need indoor scenes at GL. As for Days, they need to do more outdoor scenes. OLTL was good this week. I enjoyed all the drama with Dorian and the court scenes. Rex/Gigi stuff was pure crap. |

i can only speak for myself and just a few others...but i have seen some so pissed off at DOOL that they cannot see straight have their vision miraculously corrected when they start tuning in to GH, thats what i been doing...at least the characters on GH are not being drastically twisted out of shape to fit some plot driven crap! and i am one of the ones that see where this plot is going at least for my couple and i still cant bear to watch it....if there is one character i know as well as i know myself it was ej...but the last time i watched it was a full blown case of invasion of the body snatchers with ej dimera...i dont know who this tall brit is on the screen, but it sure as hell aint ej...and this kind of character destruction is prevalent across the board. |

The show is unrecognizable? Not all that surprised. I'm not really surprised if people tuned out during the film noir stuff, as soon as I saw it I changed the channel. |

ITA. I know many say that DAYS has improved recently, but I have yet to see it. I'm still uninterested in just about everything that's currently happening on the show. |

Well I can't totally blame the film noir stuff but I WAS pretty steamed to find that I wasted an hour of tape time for a rerun! I didn't enjoy it the first time although the production values were first rate. But it IS hard to recognize some of these characters and I don't include John because he's supposed to be different. I think making Sami a whiny crybaby instead of the schemer she's been for years is a mistake. So is playing the same scene with John and Marlena every other day! The same can be said for Abe, Lexie and Theo! The Stefano stuff is fun but it does feel like it's all set up and no payoff! I can see why the ratings have dipped but I'm sorry to see it! |

I get why someone might say the show has improved because in some ways it has. However none of the improvements are in keeping with why so many fell in love with Days in the first place. It seems to me that each soap has its 'thing', GH has crime and romance, Y&R has business and romance while Days used to be adventure and romance with a very strong sense of family. Days lost that somewhere during Reilly's last reign and has never gotten it back. In fact its gotten worse because now its a bad rip off of GH, complete with dock wars and cancer patients. The reasons that I loved Days and its characters are pretty much gone and so am I. |
