And Deidre was not there, btw. That's Mary Beth's blonde hair you're seeing in the picture.

Here is an email I got from Nancy that she sent to all those involved in the discussion.

As many of you probably know by now from our posts last night and today, our chat was deliberately crashed last night -- locking out anyone who was attempting to access the chatroom (and for a while, the message boards) and participate in our discussion.

Unfortunately, Internet privacy laws prevent us from finding out exactly who was behind the attack last night but we have a pretty good idea of who it may have been. We won't say anymore than that. Instead, I choose to continue on in the positive pursuit of constructive and meaningful dialogue between all of us. What happened last night was a definite act to try to silence and discourage us. They did not. They cannot. We seamlessly carried on our chat with Congresswomen Schakowsky. The conversation was heartfelt, candid and focused on issues that will assuredly affect all of us. We are diligently working to get that chat transcribed for you and will have that up by Monday, Oct. 5th

I’d also like to give all of you a hand who were not deterred by whomever wanted to stop us. You all stuck it out with us and I applaud those of you who started your own discussions on the message board while we carried on ours with Congresswoman Schakowsky. Last night was a great example of our perseverance and determination not only as women but as a community. Yesterday we had over 12,000 unique visitors at the site and took just under one million hits.

I also have to thank my amazing guests for their participation last night. They stayed on-line with me to answer as many questions as we could, and we're still committed to answering all of your questions, for as long as it takes.

All of the actresses here were completely floored by your interest and willingness to engage with us about the future of our country. We are all so proud to be in this daytime community with you. We are all in this together.

Because of the enormous interest in our town hall-like meeting, we would like to have more. No matter how hard they may try, or how many bots they may send, they cannot shut us down, we will not be silenced. Not on this website.

With so much respect and appreciation,
Nancy Lee Grahn

It's the pic in the kitchen at the computer. I don't think that's MBE. The hair is too long. It looks like Deidre, but if she wasn't there, I guess it's not.

Actually, she was. How do I know that, because she was among the people Nancy, as well as the board mod thanked for participating. Now it's possible she wasn't actually at Nancy's house. Several actresses participated via teleconference. More photos will be posted soon, so we can see then. :D

Yup, I don't know much about Nancy, never really followed her, but she seems like an outstanding individual. I actually spoke with Tracy, one of the mods and because this was so successful, they are talking about working with the actresses to not just do more political chats, but organize a charity event. i think that would be awesome!

Hi hon!

Nancy is awesome. She's GH's Deidre in a way. They have a lot of the same views, they're both very politically active (they're both campaigners) and outspoken. I was so happy to see three of my favourite actresses joining together (DH, NLG and JE). Strong, powerful women ftw!

And the charity thing sounds like it would be amazing, they should do it!

:eyeroll: Sorry, I just can't stand Nancy. And it's even the fact that she's pro-abortion. (yes, I said it. If you believe in abortion rights, you are pro-abortion because it means you believe the practice should be procured; to say otherwise is a Planned Parenthood ploy to ease otherwise pro-life people into becoming pro-"choice.") Anyway, I know Kim Zimmer's also a bleeding-heart liberal, but I don't dislike her as much as I do Nancy. It's everything.

That is possible too but I'm pretty sure she was not actually at Nancy's house.

I'm still ticked off that someone (or several someones) tried to sabotage the whole thing.

There is nothing called being pro-abortion. It truly is about being pro-choice. It's about being for a woman having the right to decide what happens to her own body. This is 2008, it should be a given, but it's not. Nobody likes abortions, nobody. But it is sometimes a necessary choice that a woman deserves the right to make for her own reasons.

Feel free to dislike me as much as you want, I stand by what I belive in whether you agree with it or not.

Nancy kicks ass.

I find it very strange, with ALL the issues that are hovering over the US right now, that abortion rights or "prolife" is the litmus test for the right leader. Personally, I find the term "pro-life" ironic, too, since many "pro-lifers" support the war, the death penalty, and gun rights.

On the flip side, you can say it's odd that liberals and/or pro-abortion ppl favor killing the innocent unborn, but do not want convicted multiple murderers put to death. Let's not forget people who are very into the environment, wouldn't cut down a tree, yet babies are expendable.

Anyway, no celebrity influences my opinion one way or the other. I just mostly point and laugh at them. lol

My point is......the war, the gun touting, and the capital punishment involve people who have had years in. All life, to me, is pretty sacred. I didn't create it. The Lord did.
That being said, I don't think a lot of "pro-choicers" are out to randomly use abortion as birth control. Personally, I don't like the thought of abortion, but I feel it's a decision between a woman and her conscience (God, in my beliefs), not the court of law. I also believe, for minors, the parents need to be involved. If this was a decision for one of my daughters, I would hope to be loving enough to guide them through all the options. I would not pay for an abortion for them, but I would still love and support them should that end up being their decision. It's their body and their conscious and their faith at stake.

There are too many people who would end up getting botched abortions and more problems than it's worth. I would really like to see better sex education, more control over what teens watch and their content, more reasons for abstinence, and better parenting. Getting rid of abortions is NOT going to get to the root source of the whole problem.....promiscuity and lack of responsibility. And what about the responsible women who have major health concerns? True, I believe after the first trimester, it should be highly questioned, and I don't see any need for it in the third trimester, where it would be nitpicking on whether it's a fetus or a human. But life is not all black and white. I find it wrong that these women are made to feel guilty because of this. And, not all pro-choice people are tree huggers or animal advocates. If it makes you feel better, my daughter is anti-abortion, loves animals, and wants to vote for Obama. If she was 18 months older, she would. I would like to see ALL the options fairly and unobjectively presented. I haven't been involved in Planned Parenthood at all except for my stint in college on birth control. But, I hesitate to think they are all radical, scalpel-wielding surgeons, ready to tap into someone's womb any more than I consider all prolife folks to be bombing abortion clinics.
I did not summarize that EVERYONE who is "pro-life" is for capital punishment or freedom to carry guns. I said "So many". I try to avoid painting everyone of a certain party affiliation with one paintbrush. Hell, I'm a registered Republican! They just haven't supported the majority of my beliefs and feelings lately. I even voted for Bush in the last election, much to my consternation.
I wish there was a party for moderate, middle of the road folks like me.

I will agree that I won't allow celebrities to influence me.

I think Roe V Wade should be overturned. It should be up to the voters in their states to decide what they want to do with abortion. Barack Obama voted 4 times against a law that would provide medical services to babies that survive abortion and are born.

I think we have plenty of sex ed out there. The problem is, people don't want to use birth control. We've all seen women get pregnant numerous times by different fathers. We all know how to make babies! lol We all know adopted people and couples with fertility problems. I prefer these unwanted children be adopted. It shouldn't be so hard and expensive to adopt a baby. Hubby and I are talking about adopting a little girl someday. After two sons, I don't want a 50/50 chance of having another boy. But if it's a hassle or too expensive, we may just roll the dice for a third time.

I think if you choose to be a doctor with PP, that you know you will be performing abortions. PP is notorious for not promoting adoption. PP doesn't want parents to have any say in their child's birth control methods or abortion. They make money off of abortions.

I'm a pro life Rep. I voted for Bush. He's been a big disappointment to me. Gore and Kerry weren't an option for me. I literally disagree with Obama on every issue. lol McCain I disagree with him about half the time. McCain was my last choice for the Rep nom. Man, I can't believe we are stuck with these two! lol

With all that being said, the celebs need to realize that half the voting public doesn't agree with their opinions. They risk alienating their fans. If voters really cared what celebs thought, then we'd have a Dem as president forever. Nancy Grahn is one of the worst. I like her as an actress. But every time she opens her mouth, something vile comes out. It's ok to be quoted in a soap mag without bashing Republicans. lol

I believe in the right to choose even though I couldn't imagine having an abortion myself, there are times for example when a woman/young girl is raped, molested, or a victim of incest and end up pregnant they shouldn't be forced to go on with a pregnancy if they don't want to or are not mentally stable enough to.

There are women out there who use abortion as a form of birth control though and they could always try and put a limit on how many abortions a woman could have, I was watching an episode of Tyra recently and there was a 17 yr old girl on there who had already had 2 abortions and one miscarriage.

No, it shouldn't be overturned. It should be legal in every state, IMO. With it being illegal, teenage girls who doesn't want the baby may try to commit suicide, or if they give birth to the baby, they will dump it in a box and leave the poor thing in the middle of the news. I've heard that one on the news sooooooooo many times here in NY. :(

If someone was raped or if it was committed by incest, it should be allowed too. I don't know who in their right mind would want a rape victim to carry a baby and live with it throughout their life. That is a slap in the face to the victim! That is basically saying I don't care that you have to relive your horrific rape experience every single day.

The fans needs to realize that these celebrities are regular folks just like us. They will have opinions like us and they are entitled to it. Nancy is doing what she beliefs in, nothing is wrong with that. I applaud Nancy, Heather and the others for speaking up on issues like this.
