OLTL is a joke right now - Rex in surgery then his spirit or whatever is out of his body and then he's on a game show fighting for his son. WTF?!
You thought that was weird? What Passions were you watching for 9 years. Lol.
LOL

I still wuv you Rake. ;)

OLTL was really hitting all cylinders a few months ago, but then they began all this campy stuff. It's fine in limited dose, but it's taken over the show.

I still think Andrea Evans is being wasted. I keep expecting Gwen to come through the Buchanan mansion talking about how much she hates Theresa. She may as well still be playing Rebecca.

I only like Langston and Dorian's story.
You and me are both on the same page on all accounts.

Camp is fine but when 90% of your show is camp for months on end, you lose people.

Maybe it's just bothering a select few. I don't know. I just know that outside of Dorian and Langston and maybe a little of the Starr stuff, OLTL is just...all over the place for me.

I do think Mason has a point though in that Andrea is getting to do something while Susan has done nothing substantial outside of a few great scenes here and there. She has been more wasted. I think Andrea has been given some good stuff story-wise but a combination of her not being able to rise above being Rebecca and camping things up and the writing for her character aren't doing her any justice. Susan has to just sit back and is only given a good scene here and there while Trevor does the heavy lifting. Her time will come when Marty remembers for sure but it would be nice to see more coming on her end.

I think OLTL is a hot mess right now, and I have for a while. I was totally not on the Carlivati love train ever. It's been stupid for a while, IMO. He had some fantastic returns, but the writing itself was blah. IMO, of course.

I only saw Malone on AW, I believe, and it was a mess.

I don't know if daytime has ever been worse as a whole. Is Y&R the only good show on the air right now?

There is nothing wrong with One Life To Live in my view.
This show has always thought outside of the box and has never been affraid to be different from the other boring soaps.
That's why I loved Sunset Beach.
Passions could have been good too if it didn't try so hard to be gross and stupid.

From Carla pretending to be white to Starr's cartoon fantasies.
Trading places, underground cities, Fraternity Row, singing highschoolers, heaven, 1888, 1968...(it was a dream, I think...LoL)
Dreams are supposed to be fantasy.
They aren't real and when do they ever make sense?

It's entertaining.
I love camp, so that's a plus.
But saying the show is nothing but a campy joke, is a joke to me.

I (barely) sat through the Men of 21 story and that stupid Santi plot.
And who could forget when Spencer ran the show for like two years?
All that was garbage.

What we have today is enjoyable,
at least to me...and that's all that really matters.
(LoL)

I've walked away from shitty soaps when they were bad,
like Days and AMC.
I barely leave the room when OLTL is on.
And it's been like that for me since Higgy was fired.

This show delivers the goods...and makes you wait for it.

I like OLTL right now. I watch it all the time. Between the Todd/Marty and Tess/Natalie stories, the show is just top notch! There is a lot I don't care for but that is true with any soap. What's good is great and that's what I want to see on soaps is exciting DIFFERENT storytelling.

I love OLTL right now. Easily, my favorite soap airing right now. None of the other soaps come close, not even Y&R, which I find surprising that everyone praises so much. I watch and it's still shit for me. DAYS is getting better, but still, I can't help but be cautious about DAYS because I've been burned too many times. There seems to be direction now, but will that be the same come November? Who knows.

With OLTL on the other hand, there is direction in every story, whether you like the camp or not. When shit happens, it makes sense further down the line as to why that happened. Great direction.

Well I still consider Y&R my favorite and feel it's greatly improved, I agree that OLTL is can't miss right now. I look forward to it every day and it never feels like a chore to watch. I dismissed the time travel stuff out of hand because I was NOT a fan of the Rauch era in the '80's. But I've since caught up via YOUTUBE and while I abhor sci-fi on soaps, I enjoyed some of the episodes and especially the stuff with Olympia.
