I don't know; they said NO COMMENT, which in this case means NO, because they'd love to promote that, non?

Could they be saving the announcement until around the time of the shows anniversary? If not, then it doesn't seem like a good thing if they are not shouting the renewal from the rooftops.

My sources says he hasn't been told yet.
His girls will let him know.

It said when someone gets fired and they doesn't know and its all over the place.
LOL, so true.

If he didn't know about this earlier, he does now. I wonder if he'll address it or not...we'll find out.

Toups on SON just hinted that Nelson probably has the wrong actress here so I'm gonna say that maybe he confused ARI with Ali.

Oh and for those who follow these things, at SON it was said that Jeannie Marie Ford is returning to Days along with Fran Myers. Richard Culliton is also joining the writing team. Culliton is a great SW IMO and all of these people have history at Days as writers so that should only help things.
NICE MOVES, DAYS! :applause:

I trust my Days sources, and I stated this is not a definite, but they are getting rid of a vet, and personally, my instincts agree it's probably BD. I hope it's not. And listen, one of the reasons I leak things like this — and I'm usually on target when my sources are the peeps involved — I'm hoping Days saves face and changes their mind. I hear Gary Tomlin doesn't think Bryan has chemistry with his leading ladies and he's casting all these Passions hunks. Nadia was supposed to be the vet leaving, I hear, but Tomlin vetoed that by bringing in Brady. Smart move.
People are going to think I have it in for Passions on this board (sorry Rakesh, I don't!! lol), but here goes...

This is the exact thing I worried about happening with Days. NBC needs to get one thing straight with this show. THIS IS NOT PASSIONS. To me, this strikes of the network saying "Hey, Passions is done... let's go out and get a couple actors and bring them on Days, and maybe the same people that liked Ethan and Luis will like their new characters on Days!"

And people why NBC is down to one soap and solidly in last place in daytime.

I find it hard to believe that BD wouldn't at least suspect that something was going on. But if he's really been badmouthing Ali to the fans, then he deserves to be fired. I don't care what Ali did--complaining to the fans is not only inappropriate and unprofessional, but it's really bad for the show.

But if he hasn't, then I think it's a mistake to get rid of BD and bring in two non-actors from passions. I'm not a big Lucas fan, but he has a fanbase, and the character has a place on the canvas. Their record with new characters is pretty abysmal. EJ's the only successful new character they've had in years. And he's a Dimera. Brady makes some sense, but it's really bad timing. I don't think Phloe are even remotely ready for another triangle. Chloe's character has already taken some hits with the Lucas pairing. The last thing she needs is to return to her waffle days.

I really thought the on-screen improvements meant that things had settled down a bit behind the scenes. Guess not. Is the new co-headwriter allowed to re-write Dena? And is there any chance that Cullitan is going to take over?

Sadly, no, on both accounts.

So P&G wants GL and ATWT to air only three times a week? That's sad.

What in the world are soaps coming to?

Meanwhile, the GL crew sounds like they come from another world (not the soap -- a LITERAL other world). What a bunch of petty bastards.
they'd be so much smarter to just condense them back to 30 minute shows. It'd save them a ton of money producing only 2.5 hrs a week instead of 3 or 5 hrs. It'd probably improve their ratings as they would be forced to tell more condensed stories and keep the action coming at a quicker pace which would make it more interesting to a viewer - and being only 30 minutes its not so much of a burden to watch it. And they wouldnt have to worry about people forgetting which days they were on since it'd still be 5 days a week. Plus the affiliates would love the chance to get an hour back to fill with syndicated programming, and CBS would still keep its emmy majority with 4 shows.

Well, there goes my hope for the show. Any improvements, IMHO, are purely temporary as long as that hack is there.

First off, just because Days is issuing no comment on the renewal means nothing. I don't think the DR would've posted what it did had it not been true. Days never comments on shit until it happens. It does that every renewal period and everytime they are going backstage stuff like this. As I said in the renewal thread, it's like cuts will be announced along with this announcement so the show is probably handling that before announcing the renewal officially. If the show was being cancelled, they wouldn't be bringing on actors and NBC wouldn't be doing this big fanfest nor would there be a need for writing team adjustments and all that other stuff. Days is sticking around. I don't think there are any doubts now.

As for Bryan, he probably doesn't know yet or is being asked to keep quiet. The writing is on the wall folks. He probably sees it too and my guess is he isn't telling his fans maybe because he realizes it's not worth it. With everything going on, maybe he wants out. Who knows. Just because his fans are sure means nothing. I would expect nothing less. I dont' care if he goes or not but it does fit with what is going on.

So now it seems like Nadia may have been the other actress fired with Renton but the show pulled back. That makes so much sense. Jay Johnson said last week that Tomlin saw something special with him and Nadia and Chloe and Lucas were barely featured until this week. We've all been so focused on the vet but it was announced another actress was axed too with Renton and now hearing that Nadia was on the outs...it all makes sense now. Nadia's acting has been much better this week. Perhaps nearly being ousted woke her up.

Tomlin is no doubt consulting but I doubt he is re-writing things. Even if he wanted to, Days is being watched like hell with what happened. I think that is why Corday is even stepping back a bit. That and he likes Tomlin. Tomlin and Whitesell are buddies so he can influence things from that end too.

By Toups saying this Phoenix, would you venture to guess that he is delicately confirming BD is out? :ermmmm:
Not sure. He does hint at things. However, you can pretty much determine he is speaking about tension between him and Ali with that statement, which I think is obvious.

Ali and Bryan used to always talk about each other. Now they say nothing it seems and, until recently, there was this awkward tension that was never there before in the past few months. Maybe they worked it out but it was there all summer.

I just wish the show would come out, address things, and move on. Days the last few years has sucked with this. News leaks and the show takes forever to come out with official confirmation when we know it's coming in many regards. Hell, they don't even announce contract renewals for cast members officially most of the time anymore. Those used to be all the time in the mags but half the time they aren't anymore.

I think Ali and Bryan get along just fine, unless it is a recent development.

Well, it probably is because she talked about him after he pulled that prank at the Emmy's when he went onstage when GH won.

It's just funny how they barely shared scenes all summer but, when they did, they did not have that same feeling. It was a cold sense you were getting and neither seemed comfortable. Of course, that could be the writing or nothing at all. I just think there has to be something to it. Maybe there isn't but there has been so much said in the last few months online on message boards and privately off the boards that I tend to believe there was tension. Maybe they are over it now. That is a possibility.

What did she say about him?

Oh, and that GL story is horrible. They are dictating who their actors can be friends with now? Are you kidding me??

At the Emmy's? She just said they all had a good time and thought it was hilarious when he went onstage with the GH cast when they won. That's all.

Otherwise, Ali has said nothing about him. She hasn't blogged and up until last week she had said nothing about the show to the mags or anyone except one interview after she announced her pregnancy where she said she wanted the pregnancy written in and lo and behold she got it.

That is unlike Ali to be so quiet. I get that she is busy and all but she was busy last year and still was very open and talking to the mags, blogging, etc. This year when she was on Days less, she clams up. Something is up and, when it was mentioned on SON that Ari and Bryan were having some tension, Toups even said it seems like Nelson has the wrong actress, which seemed to directly hint at Ali.

It's all alot of speculation but there is alot out there being said privately too off the boards. Not sure if you were around much during all the backstage hoopla with Dena and Scott this summer but, if you weren't there was alot mentioned on the boards and off.

As for GL, it really is just...sad. Just sad.

Oh, OK. I misunderstood. I thought she said something bad about Bryan going up there.

Ari seems like she could be a snot to me. I don't know. That's just the impression I get!

Ali either has done a 180 recently or she has been really good at being fake for 15 years!

^I used to think Ari could be a snot too but my opinion of her changed over time.

I've heard from many people how Ali was downright bitchy at fan events. I met her once and she wasn't like that but what we see in public is often different behind closed doors. Ali does come off egotistical at times and now with TBL and NBC in love with her...it's only logical to think her ego grew. Ali has always come off as a mini-diva so I don't think it would be considered a 180 in her personality as much as a 180 in her friendship with Bryan.

Having said that, after watching Monday's episode, Bryan and Ali seem to be back in a natural comfort zone again so maybe whatever was going on has passed. Who knows. I just wish the show would comment and settle all this so all the speculation could be over.

Months ago I was posting on another board and there was this poster who seemed to know a bit about some Behind the Scenes stuff .... she was indicating that Ali was having some Behind the scenes issues with someone and it was not JS... so because she excluded JS I just assumed it was BD. Then right after that all this stuff about ES and some Diva started to come to light and I thought perhaps it was Dena not BD that Ali had issues with ... now I am back to wondering again. Plus Bryan for the past year or so was saying that he wouldn't mind if Lucas was out of Sami's orbit and into some other storyline. He seemed pretty happy that Lucas was moving on from Sami...

You don't have to be involved in a coupling to have a story on the soap. From what I've been seeing on my screen lately, I wouldn't count Bryan or Lumi out at all.

Days would be stupid to let Bryan go. He has a very strong fan base, and there is also a very strong Lumi fan base. I really like Lucas regardless of if he is with Sami or not. His mom is sick, his ex-wife is sleeping at his place, he has a little girl to help raise, he just got a job at Titan. I don't think the writing is on the wall for BD at all.

If Days wanted to get BD out, why did they bring him back from his "hiatus" in the first place?
It is just beyond strange that Lucas of all people would be pimping EJAMI .... so weird and out of the BLUE - someone explain why on earth Lucas would be pimping EJAMI?
God only knows. :D I certainly wouldn't! :P
I think, in the story, he feels like he's moved on with Chloe. (course, that'll end, too). But, it's not so unusual if he himself is going on with his life. What do you want him to do? Keep yelling at her?
