Thanks, Nelson. I'm glad about Bolding and sad about Andrea. JER back to Days, hell, why not? They might as well go out with a bang instead of a whimper.

Whoa, Nellie, do you really like Todd/Marty? I just re-read your column. Are you joking or serious?

Put your hands up for Obama

Andrea was completely wasted. All I saw was Rebecca from PSSNS.

I wonder if Susan will bolt as well.

Joking, of course. I'm just happy they got rid of Justis that I thought I'd throw Ron a bone.

—Which soap actor has been asked to tone down his drunken, outspoken behaviour at soap events?

Well...I have an idea on this one LOL
Jacob Young, anyone?

Great scoops Nelson. I'm pretty indifferent about Bolding and Evans. I never got into Tina's return. While I adore Graz, I won't be sad to see Daniel go, the character has lost appeal to me.
What I am completely sad about is Budig  I knew she wouldn't re-sign, but Greens is one of my favorite soap characters ever, played by Rebecca only.

I thought so. As for Bolding, :hail: yes, some prayers are answered. As for Andrea, I had a feeling she was leaving. The lady who owns the dog David Vickers gave an interview saying the dog was going to be on OLTL only through October. That sounds about the same time Andrea could be leaving.

AWWW about Andrea. I love her even though her return wasn't the best return, however, although a couple months ago I didn't want to accept it, I also had a feeling it'd come at some point. I understand why ABC would cut her because of all the costs especially if she didn't want to move to NYC permanantly.

Poor Ron though. You can tell he loved Tina and Andrea and has enjoyed writing for her. I hope he can somehow figure out a way for her to stay but I would fear for his job if he tried to go up against Frons too much.

RE: Andrea, I knew this was gonna happen, and I'm pissed. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

I don't believe the JER rumor myself either, but I swear to God, the minute I read of that man setting foot back at DAYS, I'm washing my hands of the show.

Andrea was on longer than I thought she would be, so I was glad to see Tina for this amount of time. Wish they would bring Cord back and let them go off together...SIGH...

Is Nelson ignoring GL this week for a reason by not mentioning that show in the column at all?

Love Adrien Brody, Dolce! Yum; interviewed him recently in Toronto. So sexy! And super talented and nice.

LOL — re: Hamilton. Been once. Daniel Goddard went to a pub there and said he and Liz Hendrickson had fun there.

James E. Reilly has yet to be approached, I hear, but people ARE TALKING ABOUT his possible appointment down the line. When I heard it from a handful of insiders, I was like: Oh, dear — it's probably going to happen once they figure out how to get rid of Dena, so I put in my two cents.

Damn! I was really hoping NATAS would bring back "Guest Actor"

What's with AMC and 4 month contracts?

As for JER coming back to DAYS? Bring it on!
I think the reason why many actors or actresses preferred to signed a Four months (18 weeks) contract than your typical three months (13 weeks,) six months (26 weeks,) or three year (156 weeks) contract is because I believe that most of the ABC soaps (or most of soaps for that matter) don't have the money to sign a lot of newer talent to long term deals.

Also, I think that most of the current daytime writers has this bad habit, for some reason, of being bore with characters after 13 weeks or when sweeps are over; so, it's a easier more for a performer to leave a show if the writers can't do their job if the storyline start to go sour.

I guess it also give the performer something to do while looking for other projects
and for the people for charge to fired the performer if they're not helping the ratings or
can't find them something to do creatively.

Lovely. NBC must really be itching to get rid of DAYS, because all JER would do is speed up its demise.

Speaking of NATAS, Academy rep Brent Stanton tells The Suds Report exclusively that next year’s Daytime Emmy Awards will not include a guest-star category, despite my efforts. Damn you, people!

IDIOTS!!! :soapbox: :flipoff:

Days of our Lives, Global/NBC — James E. Reilly returning?
• Is James E. Reilly DAYS’ best shot at surviving the axe? Although the NBC soap earned an impressive 250,000 new viewers last week (seriously, was Dena Higley born with a horseshoe up her you-know-what?), there is increasing talk in the industry that Reilly could be asked back as a last ditch effort to save DAYS from cancellation. Me? I say, go for it. Reilly brought DAYS back from the brink before and kept it No. 1 in the demos for almost a decade. Also, DAYS is still paying out Reilly for firing him, so it would make sound financial sense, too. With Passions behind him, perhaps Reilly can undo the damage he created towards the end of his run.

Nelson, I'm so HAPPY that you mentioned this in your column! Awesome move. ITA with you. I've been saying it for a very LONG time now that JER is Days' only savior. I just have that gut feeling that I can't explain. If JER returns, I will be watching.

Dena Higley and company have no respect for viewers like myself. I'm sick of Days of Our Lives treating me like shit. No way in hell am I putting up with this shit. No way!! That is why I haven't been watching Days. It breaks my heart that I have to abandon a show I once loved.

• This just in: Justis Bolding has been let go as the faux Sarah Roberts. Thank you, soap god Ron Carlivati! On this special day in soap opera history, I also — coincidentally, mind you — want to announce I love the Marty and Todd romance. Love it. Can't get enough of it, actually. Isn't that weird? In fact, they're my favourite super-couple in all of daytime! Go Tarty!

I liked Sarah. Sorry to see JB go. Tarty is going good so far and I'm enjoying those two. But didn't Todd raped Marty?

• MAJOR SUDSFLASH: Is this why Justis Bolding has been fired? Andrea Evans' last OLTL tape date as Tina Lord Roberts is October 31, claim sources on the soap. "It's Brian Frons' decision," states a Llanview insider. "It's costing ABC a lot of money to keep flying in Andrea. They wanted her to relocate, but she refused. It's also a scheduling nightmare. And Ron Carlivati isn't happy about it at all. She'll last air during November sweeps - if all goes according to plan. However, Ron is trying to keep Andrea and Tina on his canvas." More details next week. ABC did not return my emails at press time for confirmation.

Interesting....

• Worst News Ever Alert: Don’t leave me, Graz! Soap Opera Digest quotes a well-placed source who reports one of the daytime TV’s finest younger actors, Michael Graziadei (Daniel) will not renew his contract when it expires in March 2009. Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

Nooooooooooooo is right! OMG, Y&R needs to find ways to keep the younger people if they want me to tune in.

Awww.....I am gonna miss Tina....while her return was far from perfect, I hope they keep the door open for her to make recurring guest stints. Hopefully she could return again with a better storyline. However, I can understand why ABC doesnt want to keep flying her back and forth between LA and NYC.
They are cheaper than GL. :o :shame:

I disagree - I really think JER will do extremely good this time around. He doesn't have Passions to worry about. All Corday has to do is back off with the creative decisions. Leave it to the writing team and the EPs. (Not Corday. lol) With JER back at Days, I'm sure he will get Lindsay and it will be Days of Lindsay's Lives.

I can't speak for the rest of DAYS's viewers, but that is definitely something I do NOT want to see. Of course, if JER ever *did* return, I wouldn't be watching, anyway.
