Either we are going to get more women or lose a man or two. Women: Sami Nicole Chloe Men: EJ Lucas Philip Brady GG's new character If they put Stephanie with Philp then what to do with Max unless they bring in more relatives for him to date. I think they have too many 30 something males characters too in relation to female 30 something characters .... I suppose Max and Chelsea could get together again. We also have Daniel he is sort of in that category!

Why does everything have to be about couples and pairing charactes up? You act as if they wouldn't have a purpose if they aren't together with someone.

That is what happens when a show relies too heavily on the same supercouples for so long and relies heavily on the supercouple model for so long, in general. Everytime someone comes on there is always speculation over who they will be paired with. It's all about the paring, which is why when Hogan took over people had such trouble with his writing. He was writing for characters and not couples and that kind of direction was lost on many fans. I know it will be said that Days is a couples oriented show but that is because it's never broken out of that mold. It used to be different. The show was character-driven, not couple-driven. Hell, these couples came together in the 80's and some of the 90's because of the character-based writing that suited their getting together. Now we don't get that kind of writing. Even under B&C...they had to tell stories for John AND Marlena. For Bo AND Hope. It could never be just for Hope or John or Bo or Marlena. More evidence of how much the writers are limited nowadays.
