No kidding! I knew SoapNet would go to hell when Frons was put in charge, but I never imagined it would get this bad. |

Just create a Soapnet Two for the series and movies and have the real Soapnet be for the daytime and primetime, current and classic, soaps only. I mean, it's not that hard. I can't believe Frons. He's worked in daytime for how long and he continues to change a SOAP network into some other cable channel. I would like to get inside that man's head and see what the hell he is thinking. This shit makes no sense considering the network he works for. |

I heard that Frons wants Soapnet to compete with the major cable networks and that's why he is fucking with the programming. |

Can we also can the 9 billion reruns of 90210 a day? Why is it that every single time I turn on SoapNet, 90210 is on? It's like all 90210 all the time! It's on DVD! Buy it and give it a rest! |

At this point, I think those who want the SOAPnet we all know and love should petition for its rebroadcast on the internet, in the same vein of CBS' same-day soap airings or TeleNext/PGP's streaming of EDGE, SEARCH, and AW. I would love to see SANTA BARBARA on SOAPnet, but at this point, it will never happen. SONY should place the show on its SoapCity site with lots of ads so they can make revenue from it. RYAN'S HOPE will be next. |

They weren't attracting younger viewers so Frons axed them. |

It backfired on Game Show Network(now known as GSN). One of GSN's worst mistakes was deviating from it's core audience so quick and so fast, that viewers didn't even bother watching anything on the network. The ratings tumbled so far and so fast that the new GSN prexy was basically forced to give the fans what they wanted: new gameshows, game show reruns, and game show-centered talk. The big difference is that a movie will draw in more of a crowd than a lame poker tournament. Always. Hell, Regis' MILLIONAIRE(which is GSN's answer to SOAPnet's 90210, being rerun over and over ad-nauseum) is being replaced with Vieira's syndicated MILLIONAIRE, per viewer response. If it IS true that movies are doing better than same-day soaps, expect those to stick around. But if all the reality, Canadian imported docu-crap tanks, don't be surprised if you see more movies or a return to more soap-centered entertainment. If it happened for GSN, it can happen for SOAPnet, unless Frons changes the name when he officially gets rid of all the same-day airings. Frons' plan is to get SOAPnet out of the higher tiers of cable programming and make the brand basic cable, like Lifetime, Bravo, or MTV. I don't ever see that happening unless they change the name. Unlike those three, SOAPnet's title already means "soap opera," which means it is already appealing to a niche market. |

I'm happy to see others feel the same way about SoapNet. I think it stinks. I really would have like to see SoapNet really try to get some of the cancelled soaps back on the air, like Santa Barbara, or even Capitol. I'm not interested in these stupid shows. GHNS absolutely stunk in my opinion. I don't watch the network anymore. It's full of reruns and bad programming in my opinion. |
