From the Y&R message boards at cbs.com

From Soapcentral.com :

It's the end of the line for newcomer Erin Sanders (Eden Baldwin). The actress, who has been the subject of several recent high-profile interviews, has been let go by The Young and the Restless. The top-rated CBS soap has already announced the name of another young actress who will take over the role.

In a move that seemed to catch everyone by surprise, soapcentral.com has learned that Erin Sanders (Eden Baldwin) has been fired from her role on The Young and the Restless. Bolstering the claims of a surprise firing, two publications have printed interviews with the actress well after her final airdate.

A popular soap magazine published a "getting to know you" profile on the actress in one of its early November editions. Sanders' hometown newspaper, the Cherry Valley (California) Press-Enterprise, also ran with an interview of their own, unaware that the young starlet had spent her last day on the Y&R set a few weeks earlier -- and a replacement actress had already been hired. Bother interviews, however, were conducted well in advance of Sanders' exit from the CBS soap.

"Apparently there have been some 'rumors' started about my no longer being a part of The Young and the Restless. The answer is yes, I will no longer be portraying the character of Eden Baldwin," Sanders tells soapcentral.com. I wasn't sure when the show would want this information to go public, so I waited to tell you guys until after it was spoken of elsewhere."

If the uncasting decision seems to have caught the media off-guard, Sanders hints that she sensed her time in Genoa City might be coming to an end well before she was let go.

"There are no hard feelings whatsoever. I had a wonderful time working on the show. The thing here is authenticity. Eden is a 15-year-old girl, and I am verging on eighteen. A lot of growing up goes on during those few years, and Y&R has opted for a genuine 15-year-old. This sort of thing happens all the time on soaps."

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Vanessa Marano has been tapped to replace Sanders, and has been at the Y&R studio filming since November 4th. The teen actress has a long and impressive resume, including long runs on shows like The Gilmore Girls and Without a Trace. Marano began her career on stage at the age of seven, contributed voice work to the animated film Finding Nemo, and was directed by Christopher Reeve in the film about paraplegia, The Brooke Ellison Story. One of the youngest members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Marano is also taking freshman level college courses.

Sanders debuted on Y&R in August, and appears for the last time on November 19th. Marano begins airing on December 3rd.

Go figure!

Nelson reported on this two weeks ago.

I've seen this new girl act of several shows before, and she's much better.

welp, that's good, at least...albeit this character is indeed not necessary, IMHO.

I wouldnt say Eden's unnecessary. She serves the purpose of Noah's first love interest. People probably said the same thing about Sharon I'm sure, having 3 people play her in her first year.

I think they should have just let Sanders grow into the role. She was only there for 3 months, and is very young. She's much hotter than the new girl. The only problem I had with her acting was her tendancy to have weird facial expressions when her character wasnt speaking. You can tell either someone gave her the idea, or no one stopped her, but she'd stare at some set piece like she was facinated with it to look like she was doing something other than standing there when she was not the one speaking. Like how female actors initially have issue knowing what to do with their hands, she didnt know what to do with her expressions. If they'd broken her of that, I think it would have made a huge difference. She had a genuine quality that worked for Eden's tough yet vulnerable character.

She's a good actress. I remember her as Franchesca from Lisa Kudrow's The Comeback

I wish they'd just get rid of the character altogether.

Me too. She's the show's biggest weak spot right now, IMO.

Nah, the 60s radical story with Michael's father is the biggest weak spot.

It's not like they use Colleen, she's never gotten a storyline and she disappears for months without explanation. I say just write the character out.

Again, the character was used ALL the time when Adrienne was in the presence of the role.
Which I must admit, it will be nice to see her on Friday's rerun LOL
What does that tell you?

I can never hate Tammin after watching her on Home and Away, she's a great actress. She is being wasted by Y&R.

Leon was such a boring frump. Polar opposite of the real Colleen - Lyndsy Fonseca.

I never minded Erin Sanders in the role. She was from Disney, she needs time to adjust LOL Plus, her look was perfect for the role and she was kinda hot with that black hair. A huge change from how she looked on Zoey 101.

Now when the recast was on Gilmore Girls she was annoying as hell. Hopefully since then that has changed.

The thing with Tammin is she can't act and have an American accent at the same time. I've seen clips of her on Home and Away and she was pretty good. She's just can't be American.

Question: Who are Mac's parents again?

Brock Reynolds and Amanda.

Amanda was last seen in 2002 when Mac let Amanda have it when she brought this felon Ralph to town. Ralph was stealing Jill's jewels and attacked Larry Warton, Mac, and Billy. Mac and Jill actually had a touching moment when it was up to Mac to send her own mother to prison.
