I wish they'd just get rid of the character altogether.
Me too. She's the show's biggest weak spot right now, IMO.
Nah, the 60s radical story with Michael's father is the biggest weak spot.
Wrong. The whole Wintrs family and anyone connected to them is the weak spot. So Goddamn BORING!!! Neil, Karen, Tyra, Ana, Lily, Devon need to go FAR away.
Question....do you think they were interesting when we still had Drucilla in the clan? Without her, I do see why that clan is boring. But w/o them, we lose what Y&R is known for...having leading African-American actors/families get a story and be a part of the show.

Ugh Kelly Kruger sucked ass as Mac....

Ashley Bashioum is the still the best Mac, the recats never did the part any justice.
I liked Rachel Kimsey, though the character went through a major overhall for her version. Definitely some creative tug of war over the character back then when they fired Bashioum and retooled her character.

I couldn't say. I never watched Y&R regularly before. But even Neil. Kristoff St. John bores me to tears. Maybe it was Drucilla who made him interesting because I can not see any indication of why he or any of the rest of them would have fans.

I do like Olivia though. Polka Dot Door memories!!!

I don't mind Eden being on the show. I like the thought of Lauren raising a teenage girl with Michael, and I can't wait to see Michael finally warm up to Eden, and accept her the same way he did with Kevin.

I do hope River soon leaves. I hate that storyline and I wouldn't mind seeing him go to jail for the rest of his life.

Drucilla is a huge factor. The other that I dont think gets as much attention is Malcolm. Shemare Moore was a major draw.

They havent replaced these two with anyone good. Neil is still the only adult black man on the show, and he was always the boring brother. And this Karen thing that's latched on to him, who needs sleeping pills when I can watch Nia Peeples, and some failure from Top Model.

as it stands right now, I'd rather they just drop the Winters family. Even if it means we have an all white cast, which is awful, these people suck. I wouldnt mind a new black family. One representing the struggles that community faces, the way Drusilla used to do in the 90s. That was what made them so facinating to watch back then.

Ok that was funny. Drucilla is such classy trash. Kind of like the black/ghetto version of Kate Roberts LOL

That's the thing. Neil is supposed to be a boring character. It's Drucilla that brings him to life and makes him interesting. Without her, he's dull. That's why Neil and Karen aren't anything special and are usually boring. Karen doesn't have the UMPH that Dru has to make Neil interesting.

Well, Drucilla/Olivia were on the canvas before Neil came into Genoa City. As soon as they put Neil into Drucilla's orbit, he was a standout character. Once Victoria Rowell left the first time in 1998, this was around the time they decided to pair Kristoff and Heather Tom...but that was scrapped b/c it was a...GASP....interracial couple!

Then w/ Neil's alcoholic storyline in 2002 after Malcolm was presumed dead, Kristoff/Neil played that storyline VERY well. And it did show he had range as an actor....and then Victoria Rowell came back to her Y&R home, and the rest is history.

How funny is it that Drucilla mispronounces Carmen's name as "Karen" several times, and then the next woman in Neil's life is a woman named Karen.

Oh and back on topic one thing I like about the Eden character is that one scene that had Lauren be a little offensive to Sharon. Sharon Case acted like such a mother, and bitchy Lauren is incredibly needed back. Tracey Bregman is being wasted and she's never looked better than now.

Neil really does suck, and always has.

Olivia had her struggles with Nate, and that homewrecker Keesha. Then falling for Brad.

Nate had his cheating and getting HIV

Drusilla had her illiteracy and her ballet dreams, and her attitude that made any scene she was in great.

Malcolm had his dick in half the women in GC.

And Neil was just always ..... there. The doormat.

I'd like the opposite. I'd love to see a strong, powerful black family in Genova city giving the Abbots and Newman's a run for their money. Similar to what Victoria Rowell stated in a recent interview ...the Winters are way to isolated from the rest of the cast.

(I also loved her comment about Neil, a high-ranking exec living in a small apartment).

Neil and Victoria just sucked. LOL!

I didn't care that it was an interracial couple, I didn't see much chemistry and Alden and Smith barely scratched the surface with them.

Hmm If I could grow to like Eric Breaden, which this year I really have started to, then I guess I could it's possible I could like Victoria Rowell as well.

I love the thought of Neil and Victoria. I think I also think that Kristoff looks better with Amelia than he does Heather.
