Wouldn't get your hopes up for that.

I cannot watch that scene without crying, and I'm sure I've seen it at least 20 times by now.

Congratulations Dee!! 4,000 episodes & counting!

I can't watch that right now. That clip makes me cry everytime...just the same as when Marlena is telling John to let go when he is dying. Those clips make me cry everytime.

GET EM STEPH!!

Great scene.

I wouldn't expect this and not just because of the current state of things. Different era and different situation.

Oddly enough, when I watch scenes from the this era, I truly love them. It's as if I remember being an 11 year old and being just mesmorized by this kind of a drama. But if this was playing now on TV, as a new show, I would think it was cheesey to the extreme. But when I watch, I remember being 11, and love it lol

I feel this way too, but I think there is also a difference seeing a standalone scene and living through the storyline.

There was so much emotion in Roman losing Marlena. When you're watching the story, even if the scene standalone is 'cheesy', there's almost a need for the overwhelming emotional payoff. I'll never forget Roman losing Marlena.

I love this scene, but I actually prefer the scene where he's going to go after Orpheus, and his mom can't stop him, but little Carrie does. This was such a heartbreaking story. Still kills me when I go back and watch knowing that Doc's really alive. Actually, probably kills me more knowing she's alive. Go get her Roman!!!

I think I loved the Marlena and Carrie relationship, more than than the Roman/John and Marlena relationship. :) I remember being giddy when Christie and Dee had their first scenes together when Christie returned to the role of Carrie. Carrie was so sad when she thought Marlen died. Oh, and although I don't like Drake's acting anymore, I do remember loving Roman and Diana; I thought Genie and Drake sparked like crazy. Altough, Genie didn't seem to like DAYS miuch lol

I loved this montage of them. Again, I was young, I don't know how I would react to it now if it just aired lol

Awww, that was a great scene. It showed Roman and Diana, and Drake at his best. In my wildest fanfic dreams, I always hoped that Genie would somehow return to DAYS, get involved in a story with John and Marlena, and then have it revealed she had a secret past with Steve, when Steve was presumed dead. Thus, reuniting Nichols and Genie, and then get to just have Diana realize that Marlena WAS alive, just like she feared all those years ago haha Also, when last seen, Diana had put on the dark wig and left in the middle of the night, so who knows who Diana had turned into in the last 20 years lol

That would've been an interesting tie-in. I wonder what happened to Steve during those 16 years. I also wouldn't mind her bringing back Shane or Mike, at least before we had these budget woes. I've always felt there were so many good stories to tell if we just had the writers. Sad that I'm just hoping for a nice ending for J&M now vs rooting for a whiz-bang story. I'm actually envisioning worse than donning black wigs and running off into the night, lol, but I'm trying to be hopeful. :)

Yeah, again I'm sorry for you and other fans who are losing John and Marlena. That should be respected instead of people jumping for joy. The show will survive, but it will certainly be a different one.

Oh, and one more Roman and Diana scene that I loved. lol Drake was hilarious in it playing drunk, and the very end of the clip; total 80s soap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oYzV5jC2Tc

And our very own Dena Higley was in the writing credits!!! lol

I love that clip and that story. Drake was too cute. I loved him as Roman and Genie as Diana even though I missed Marlena. The music was so good back then too. It used to start at just the right moment. You knew when a big moment was coming and could feel the anticipation. You also knew when something bad was coming and wondered, 'what the heck are they gonna do the them now!?' I miss the music. I read it's too expensive to have all that music now, but I think it added alot to the stories. Vic was also such a great bad guy back then.

I see Higley in the credits and cringe, but I do think she's a good scene writer. From what I read back then, they laid out storyboards and planned the stories, hence so much interaction between stories with Kane and Payla. They often dovetailed into each other. So I think if someone is laying it out, and DH has direction, she does a good job of writing it. I just don't think she's good at creating or organizing stories. It feels random vs. thought out and planned. Not sure how much of that is Corday's influence, so I do often feel bad judging her, but it seems like she'd have some kinda control. I'd just like to feel like there's some kind of plan and that I'm not going to make it thru all this and not get a payoff. No matter how mad I used to get with a story, I always felt like in the end, it would be worth it. I've lost that feeling, though I still hope or did.

Thanks!!
