The December 23rd issue of SOD includes an article about cast reactions to cast changes on Y&R, Days, and OLTL.

- At Y&R, Don Diamont has been fired, and SOD says that the show was considering cutting another "longtime cast member", but that person was saved by a "plot twist" which had potential for upcoming story. SOD asked a "setside source" about the possibility of Diamont's character returning, but the source told SOD, "That's very unlikely, but this is a soap and characters have made miraculous returns before." SOD guesses that Brad may be leaving Genoa City "in a pine box".

- At Days, JKJ has re-signed with the show, and a source tells SOD, "Nobody is sure if he had to take a cut." SOD then quotes Eric Martsolf about the firings of Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn. Martsolf tells SOD that the news came as "a giant, giant shock", that he has enjoyed working with them in this short time period, and that he and Drake "were just starting to hit it off". He says it is "heartbreaking because it can happen to anybody", and he says that it shows that no one is beyond the effects of the recession. He hopes they won't be gone forever; he says in daytime it's "never say never", and he hopes that "things will be worked out down the road where they can make a triumphant return".

- At OLTL, Kamar de los Reyes "has one foot out the door". SOD says that at press time, the actor was in contract negotiations, but that he has "expressed an interest in leaving". However SOD then prints a quote from him in October where he said he hoped to continue as Antonio. SOD mentions that the last time the actor "walked", he took Wendee Pratt with him, and that fans are "buzzing" that the same could happen now with BethAnn Bonner. The show had no comment.

I think they should keep Talia....I think she could be paired with someone else. However, I will be cheering when Tonio leaves.

Agreed. Let Antonio go, but keep Talia.

I bet the second name was Doug Davidson (for Y&R) and his affair with Nikki saved him

Apparently Sharon Case revealed at a personal appearance that Brad will indeed be killed off.
