From: Daytime Confidential We're hearing from several sources that Lisa de Cazotte (and yes it is with an "S") is thisclose to coming to All My Children as an executive producer. Whether or not the former Passions and General Hospital: Night Shift show runner will be second-in-command to current executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers, or if she will be taking over the show completely is unknown as of yet. We're hoping for the latter. I know a lot of people feel AMC has improved in recent months, and while I am enjoying the revitalization of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and the Reese/Bianca (Tamara Braun and Eden Riegel) romance, I find the rest of the show very Helter Skelter, almost to the point of being unwatchable. After the stellar job de Cazotte did with the second season of Night Shift, I would love to see her make some sense out of what is taking place in Pine Valley. Insiders say Agnes Nixon's crown jewel almost didn't get renewed during this past round of negotiations with the network and that is just all shades of wrong. All My Children, unlike other soaps on cancellation watch, could be fixed with relative ease. They already have industry vetted writers (Desperate Housewives' Chuck Pratt, Coronation Street's Daran Little) in place and a stellar cast, so maybe it is time they trim from the top to prevent this still viable sudser from going the way of Guiding Light or Days of Our Lives? More as the story develops. |

I hope it's AMC and not OLTL. |

Eeeh, I dunno. I dont think JHC is the person to blame for the show's crappiness. The various head writers and network meddling are more at fault. From a production level, AMC's not bad for the little money they spend on it. I cant comment on NS, but Passions was just as awful looking with Hesser in charge of producton. |

I agree. I do think it's her though. I think she is going to take the fall and bringing in Lisa will be the last chance to save the show. I really do think they were just as much on the chomping block as Days was this year and it would not surprise me to see cast cutting there too. Lucci already got slashed and I bet MEK took a cut, which is why his negotiations took so long. I really hope they leave OLTL alone as far as writing but I'm not in love with Valentini. I still don't like the production on OLTL so I would love to see someone else come in and bring better production values. It's the show's biggest weakness right now IMO. |

AMC does need to get rid of JHC, but de Cazotte would be a terrible replacement. I'm not a big fan of Valentini, but OLTL has a nice flow going right now, and I don't want to see that messed with. |

Evidentally no one watched Night Shift because de Cazotte is a great producer. Watch Passions from 99-03 when the budget was higher and it was a whole different show. |

Admittedly, I didn't watch NS, but I'm sure that had at least twice the budget that AMC has. |

I agree about OLTL. Their lighting and sets need work. |

Well, yeah, and I'm sure that Frons makes sure GH gets a much bigger budget than AMC/OLTL. Therefore, GH: NS's budget would be better, as well. |

I guess better in that they're only paying for the actors appearances, and some of the money would get spent to improve the sets and benefit both GH and NS. But I dont think they get that much money, I think thats one of the reasons they do this spinoff. |

^ But what I'm saying though is that NS's budget is probably equivalent (more or less) to that of GH. And GH's budget is obviously much bigger than AMC's. |

Actually Mason, you were right the first time. Night Shift's budget is higher than GH's by about $25,000 bucks |

Lisa was great on NS and I think she did ok with Passions under a bad budget. The special effects sucks but I don't expect to see much of that on AMC anyway. I think she would be great for AMC. Pratt and her both have some background in Primetime (her with NS and him with Melrose) so they could bring a nice feel to the show and I think they will complement each other well. |

whoever they get I just hope they get rid of the jittering "primetime" filter they're adding to their video. |
