Why is it that television now-a-days can't produce any interesting "teen" shows? |

Peter Engel's Production Company also produced Last Comic Standing, SBTB: The College Years, and some God-Awful syndie show that was in the vein of California Dreams. I think it was called Mailbu, CA or something and ran on WGN stations. Blech. Anyway, my favorite TNBC show was "Just Deal." All the actors had great chemistry with each other, it was well produced, and it was topical without the overwrought cheese of the shows that preceded it(i.e. Hang Time, SBTB, City Guys). NBC should have totally went forward with "Harmony High." Talk about being hung over or high watching that show. And the audience may have even carried over to Passions. |

I don't remember Just Deal...I do remember a show about high school kids that I think was set in a different country and for some reason Paris sticks out...but I have no idea. |

Could you possibly be talking about Breaker High where they went to High School on a boat and got to travel the world doing so? |

I'll upload an episode I have onto YouTube. The cheerleader/rich girl on Hang Time annoyed me more than anyone. And did they ever explain why their athletics department didn't have women's basketball? lol. City Guys was cool, but L-Train sucked after they made him into some boring softie. He was Saturday Morning's answer to JJ Walker. |

You are talking about USA high. It was an American high school in Paris. They had this blonde guy (that kind of looks like EM from Days) and a Latina girl (she's been on a couple of series) a guy like that was the best friend of the blond guy...in the mold of "Vinny Delphino ala Doogie Houser." It was on cable...I think USA. (Man I watch a lot of cheesy TV!LOL) Oh, just remembered that it was run by a British guy and the daughter was also cast as one of the students-she was a goody-goody.
