Damnit, Kenny. Why the hell did you have to go and get me into trouble?
LoL, I'm still trying to figure out how it's my fault that you feel the need to come out with this earth-shattering revelation! Geez....I was just kidding around.
I see you all joke with each other and when I do a little bit, everyone gets all upset.
Drew, the only reason I hinted was because Kenny was joking around about me paying him 20 cents so I just said he may get a surprise this weekend better then that. It was all just me kidding around about something I'm thinking about. That's all. I really don't understand why people are getting upset about this.

James Scott and Arianne Zucker can be replaced. I'm sorry, but they can. I know they both have their fanbases, but DAYS survived without them for years, and they can survive without them now. DEIDRE FUCKING HALL WAS FIRED!!!!!!!! That, alone, should be enough to convince anyone that no one on this show is safe.
And until I get a quote from Higley, Corday or Tomlin saying that they "LOVE ARIANNE ZUCKER AND WOULD NEVER FIRE HER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES," almost close to what Corday said about Deidre Hall years ago, then I'm not buying that she's safe because TPTB likes her. That's bullshit.
Sorry, but I agree with Phoenix. I know Deidre Hall was fired but from the producer standpoint she is not so important anymore. Marlena is not a central character of the show, her only story is almost perfectly isolated and write her out is a relatively easy thing.
Nicol is a part of an "A" story of the show. Fire her/letting her go means either quick recast, or throw away story outlines for the next 6 months. Ari is exactly the same case like Jay and we´ve already seen what Tomlin has been able to pull in that case.

I really hope it's not Arianne leaving. I must admit I wasn't the biggest Nicole fan during her first run. When they announced she was returning I was meh about it. But I've totally changed on Nicole. Arianne has been amazing during her 2nd run. For me it's the other way around. When most people think of Nicole's first run they only seem to remember her under JER, getting drunk and chasing after Brady. I don't mean you but I have notice that with many. I think Nicole was best 2001-2003.

It's nothing too earth shattering and I only brought it up because you kind of brought me to do so. It's just something I think will shock people who I've debated with. I've been thinking about it for awhile and said I would do this when I felt the time was right for me and the time may soon be right. :eyeroll: Are you serious? Didn't we just have a discussion about this not long ago, and you had people going off on you because you mentioned info that you had, but wouldn't tell? Why even mention it then? He's auditioning for Nelson's job?

I don't mean you but I have notice that with many. I think Nicole was best 2001-2003. I really began to see signs of her being a great actress someday in 2001-2002, especially during the Paul story. She sold so much of that.
Sure, she came into her own before that as a vixen but she began to show some range during those years IMO. She showed it again when she lost Brady. Other then that, 2003-2006 sucked for her and now we get the chance to her act her ass off because she's clearly improved and the character has more layers now.

I was told she gives birth in the next couple of weeks - right around the time that John and Marlena leave, I think - and Nicole gives birth too. Of course. She went into labor right after John died last year, so now that there's another pivotal J&M moment, why should things be any different? I remember thinking she'd have contractions at his funeral last year, but I was a day off. I wouldn't be surprised if her labor takes away from their story now too.
Thanks as always OBK for the info!

Thanks OBK - I thought I read somewhere that Sami would be giving birth around the actual time that Ali was ... Funny how Nicole and Sami's babies would deliver around the same time! How predictable is that!

I guess the difference, and this is just for me, is that she seemed like by Higley, Corday. and Tomlin. Plus, most fans seem to like her. The numbers have gone up in the past few months she's been featured in the A story. She also doesn't cost as much.
With Joe, it was said at the time that they were resting him during the strike and, ultimately, they just didn't want to bring him back for whatever reason. I think Stefano was just left in limbo because of all the writing upheaval. Belle and Shawn was different. I still believe Corday felt Shelle was being threatened by the growing popularity of Phelle and that he had designs on bringing back Cook and Storms somehow or maybe just Cook. That exit makes no sense otherwise and it came right at the peak of the quad. I know you and I disagreed on this but I still feel as though this was the case.
It's not like with Ari IMO where there seems like there is no dissension at all behind the scenes. It seems everyone is in agreement as far as her being on the frontburner. That is why it would make no sense to me just like them firing James Scott would make no sense. Sure, they could quit on their own but I can see Days firing them or wanting to get rid of them when they are very much the centerpiece of the show. I don't see Corday wanting to interfere as to who ends up together, at least not right now. I just see no logical reason they would axe Ari or James unless one or both balked at a pay cut. It doesn't make sense, otherwise.
But your right in that no one should really be considered safe. Some may seem safe more then others but that doesn't mean they aren't fair game. I'm just saying it's hard for me to see the show axing James or Ari and I don't expect Ali, Peter, or Kristian to go when they just took pay cuts. They would've just released them before that.
And Belle and Shawn weren't liked? Corday freaking loved them. And don't tell me you know Higley didn't like them because she had no problem writing for them the first time around. So I don't buy that just because "so and so" likes a person, that means they won't be leaving the show. And I laugh at the fact that people are still believing that DAYS had this plan to bring back Storms and Cook? Where the hell did this come from? Are you honestly telling me that the TPTB thoguht Kirsten Storms was going to leave GH for DAYS? Please! That's stupid. Shawn and Belle were written out because of budget issues. I'm sure Corday wanting them to have a happy ending went along with it, and was the reason both were written out together, but it was budget issues. That's the only excuse I'm accepting. If it weren't, there was no reason to write them out. Corday wants them to be happy, then just tell Higley to write them as a couple. Simple solution.
Drew, I'm, not really disagreeing with you. I'm already know we disagree about Shelle and I will just leave it at that. I'm just pointing out how I saw it. I know nothing more then anyone else and I'm not the only one who posted reasoning like this. Many of us felt Corday was going to go after Cook and maybe even Storms. There has also been rumors that the show didn't like the chemistry between Martha and Brandon. No one really knows. I know OBK mentioned something about this too. I've heard rumors all over the place about it but I doubt it was budget cuts. How much could they really cost? Corday wouldn't cut from the next generation for budget reasons. That is hard for me to buy. Besides, it was reported by SON and pretty much everyone that it was a creative decision, not a budget one. And your right in that Scott and Zucker can be replaced. All I was saying was that they are on the frontburner right now and this story is the show's major focal point. I think even a recast of EJ and/or Nicole would hurt the show big time based on that reasoning. This show has been through enough turmoil and the show's A story taking a hit would not be good. That is all I was saying, especially with the show supposedly going with the future and building around people like Ari and James. That's all. Sorry if I upset you LOL. Hmm.. I think all bets are off. How many of the actors on the show to include say Ari and James, see where the future of the show is going. Keep in mind the show was only renewed 18 mos. We may not know which actors/actresses with upcoming contract negotiations are making "other" plans. Personally, I think no one is safe that goes for Ali, Ari, James, whoever.

Mary Beth Evans is another one, as is Renee Jones, who go through their agents and not the show. 9 times out of 10, the managers of the actors from DAYS forward my requests to NBC. I was lucky to get Lauren Koslow through her manager, but once Karen left the office, now I have to go through the show. Just curious, how did you get Thaao? Any luck getting Leann? I would love to hear from her and Arianne.

I am going to have to say it......
Ari will never match to Allison's acting. So IMO, Ali has nothing to worry about. Allison is the star of the show and she will always be leading lady in by book. I just don't get all the Ali dislike. What did she do? I wish someone would enlighten me because I just don't get it.

^^Personal Perference. Alison has her moments but many times I find her cringe inducing when she has to cry and tends to be over the top.

Ali's great when she's playing the evil bitch, but otherwise, she's vastly overrated, IMO. She really doesn't have a great deal of range in her acting.
