And yeah, Simon didn't look happy, but I partially blame him as well. He's rarely given Allison credit, he basically told her that she should beg for votes last night and then praised Adam for saving her. Well, he was wrong in that but still ... sigh.
Looking back on it, I'm beginning to wonder if he was hoping she would make it but didn't care if she didn't.

I mean, Kris was clearly thrown under the bus but Kris has a much stronger fanbase then Alison. The pattern with her has been that she is usually safe right after she is in the bottom 3 and then she falls right back down into it. That is what happened tonight. I think he wanted Alison because it ensured Danny/Adam in the final because she would not take away fans from either one of them. Now, Kris will likely take fans away from someone, likely Danny. I mean, Simon was rude to Kris several times the past few days and, really, he kind of threw Alison under the bus too by not giving her credit for anything.

It reminds me of last year when the judges threw Micheal, Carly, and Syesha all under the bus to make sure they got their destined finale. This show has to go back to letting the performances speak for themselves instead of manipulating people. Unfortunately, I don''t see it happening until the two people in the finals tank. Last year, both Davids ended up doing well. I can see Adam doing well this year but, really, we need both to do poorly for the message to get across.

See for me with Allison I always felt like every performance was the same and the same can be said for Danny. I think Allison has more potential than Danny ever will. I see Allison as maybe a young Gwen Stefani, but I just feel like Allison needs to mature a bit more. She has the pipes, but there is just that missing "it" factor that I think she will get with more time. I do think she will be one of those idol non-winners that is very successful.

I agree. Michael, Carly and Syesha were all very good but were consistently thrown under the bus. Kris and Allison, I feel, have proved themselves immensely over the season and just never got the credit. I do praise Kara though for giving them props.

I don't care what anyone says. I really like Kara and I hope she stays. I mean, in the beginning, she wasn't the greatest, but I think she's always fair, she doesn't play favorites, she criticizes when necessary and praises when necessary. I think she's very good but it's a shame she came into the show in it's 8th season. She was doomed and that sucks because I feel she's a great addition and I almost always agree with her.

Kris and Adam did not look happy...at all. Adam seemed to love Alison(it was so cute saying she was like his little sister last night, and they were both the most people in the rock area), and Kris is probably still angry at Danny for that little stunt last night.

And Simon didn't look happy either but its not like he tried to help Alison...its been obvious that Simon uses reverse psychology(I saw it all over the place last week), but I've always seen him criticize her.

These past couple episodes have had some serious shock...I'm hoping it doesn't continue. I still sorta think Adam has the win locked up, but after THIS, I am just a tad concerned that HE could get eliminated next week or just not win...I doubt it, but still I so expected Alison to be safe, and I expected Adam to be safe last week.
Alison isn't really a shock.

She's been in the bottom 3 numerous times and was bottom 2 a few weeks ago. I think what is shocking is that she seemed to be gaining strength last week and it looked like Danny or Kris for sure was going home coming off last night, especially after the Adam and Alison duet.

As talented as this top 4 was, this season is lacking big time because we have not had a shocker. I don't consider Alexis a shocker early on. I also don't consider Adam in the bottom 2 a shock. A shock is someone who should've go home going home. Hopefully, this is season 6 all over again and we will get the shock in the top 3 with Danny going home. That season did not have a shock until the top 3 when Melinda went home. Hopefully, that happens here.

I hate the way the judges have treated talent the past two seasons. Carly and Micheal never got any credit from the judges last year except here and there. Same goes for Alison, Kris, Matt, etc this year. Alison in earlier seasons would've been a favorite to get to the finale but these past two years it's all about the chosen ones.

I know Alison didn't really talk back last night but it makes you wonder if that sealed her fate. It seems like talking back in any form hurts your votes, even if she did it playfully.

I will agree with Simon in that he's said Allison and Kris lack the confidence, and I agree with that. Allison needs to KNOW she's good. Same for Kris. I partially blame the judges (except Kara, who repeatedly praised them) because they were always picked apart, especially by Simon. I don't understand Simon's hard-on for an Adam/Danny finale.

Exactly.

She's also been a little more brief in recent weeks. She is the one judge I don't feel has an agenda. Even when the others praise Danny and Adam, she wouldn't go overboard, usually saying something like "it was memorable" or "strange" or something vague. She told Alison twice that she did not belong in the bottom 3 or 2 and that she belonged in the finals.

Kare gets bashed but she really has taken over the role as the most unbiased and consistent judge. Simon was last year but that has clearly ended.

I hope Alison does well, especially to prove a point. I don't see how it can be said it was the same performance with her every week. I mean, you only have to go back to last week when she sang a song that showed her softer side and it was a very subdued performance. She did that earlier this season during country week too. Danny is the one that never changes songs and always sounds the same, except for last night when he butchered a song and became nothing more then a sideshow.

See, I don't understand the confidence thing because two or three weeks ago he told both Kris and Alison they had confidence. He even told Alison that she could make it to the finale. That was the only time someone other then Kara said that.

I wish one of them would've said to him: "Hey, why should I bother? You already have decided who should go to the finale." I mean, really, how can they truly buy into winning when you have shit like last night when Simon says nothing will top Adam and does nothing but mention Adam and compare everyone to Adam all night. He did the same thing with Danny last week. I do think Kris and Alison believe they are good enough to win it but they don't think will simply because of the judges and the fanbases.

I don't know if last season they threw those people under a bus for the David/David final. I actually think Michael, Carly and Cook fans were similiar so when one got eliminated they threw their support to the ones left in the trio. Syesha might have been thrown under the bus on the final 3 night, but the same would have happened it ended up being either Brooke or Jason in that bottom 3. I think the only way there could have been any difference was if Carly or Michael were there. Michael was a bit like Danny this year. I think he thought he was better than he was at times while Carly was more like Allison where for whatever reason she just couldn't connect with viewers.

I think there is a lot of manipulation due to what happened with Daughtry in season 5. They can't claim him as a winner and he has done better than some of the other winners. They need a few more "success" stories on this show. At least with other season's it wasn't as obvious.

I seriously thought that would be the end for him, and after last night's duet I thought the final two would be between Alison and Adam, but I guess I was wrong. :P

I'll be stunned if Danny doesn't go home next week, though. Kris and Adam have to be the final two, they just HAVE to be.

See, I think it was obvious because in other seasons Micheal and Carly would've been favorites along with Cook and Archie would be an afterthought by top 5. Remember Carmen in season 2? She had the teenybopper vote and she only reached top 5, unlike Archie. The show has changed dramatically since Daughtry, which is why you make a fantastic point. The show wants what it feels are sure things. Before season 5, most of the time they ended up with who they felt was a sure thing winning it but they lost that in season 5. Season 6 had Jordin but they really didn't have a whole lot to go with that season. That is why in season 7 they seemed to take it upon themselves to dictate and manipulate who they want to perform on that final night. They did the same thing this year. They know about it too. Simon alluded to it in the finale last year, saying the judges and show took alot of flack but he feels they had the right two there that night.

I just hate what is happening now because I feel like the show is veering too far from what it should be. It was bad enough when earlier this year it seemed like it was more about going with personalities moreso then singing but now we are seeing the talent in this competition not getting a fair shot, just like last year. If the judges and show were fair and this all still happened, the fine. I could live with it because you can't help how people vote. I wish you could but you can't. However, the judges and show have given a big fuck you to some talented people the past two years who deserved more of a shot and that is APPALLING.

I am not too bothered by Alison leaving, but I was hoping that Danny would be out.

I was shocked when Kris was told he was safe first! Watch him end being the one that wins. I can't wait for next week!

Oh, I see what you mean. That was my hope too but glad I didn't hold my breath LOL.

From your lips to God's ears, daysfan. Danny's run HAS to end next week.

My fear though is that it won't. Think about it. Top 3 week the judges get to pick songs for one of the performances and I believe the producer's do too. You just know they are going to do what they did last year and try to sabotage Kris like they did Syesha last year. It's going to be ugly how they toss him under the bus next week. Maybe it's good Alison did go home. I wouldn't want to subject her to that BS. Maybe it would be a better downfall to see Danny end up like Archie. Have him get to the finale and have to stand there and watch Adam win and celebrate. Maybe that would be the best justice.

I should've known the foreshadowing was too think for a Danny elimination tonight. He sang the same song poorly that Micheal Johns went home on last year (because he also sang it poorly, bad last note and all last year). Then we had Chris Daughtry on the show tonight in the same week he got eliminated in his season (very ironic...feel bad for Chris having to come back to the show this week LOL). Then we had Danny standing next to Alison with shades of Chris/Katherine from season 5 but no dice. The show also didn't leave a whole lot of time at the end and they usually do when there is a big shock with one of the favorites going home. That is why I thought Adam was a goner last week with so much time left but it ended up not happening.

I teared up during Alison's goodbye montage and her last performance was just awesome. Best goodbye performance this year. I was happy she and Kara hugged because she is the only one that seemed to give her the credit she deserved.

I cannot believe that Alison is gone. :( I do think she will be the first person outside the F2 to get a record deal.

I don't think I've ever disliked any Idol contestant more than I do Danny Gokey. He is the most arrogant cocky asshole I have ever seen. Ugh

I will be voting my fingers off for Adam and Kris next week.

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?!?!

When they announced that Allison was going home, I screamed like Kristian Alfonso when Hope found out that Zach was dead on Days. I just kept shouting, "No, NO, NOOOOO! NO!" It's especially hard to swallow because of the homecoming package they showed, and it sucks to know that she was so close to getting that amazing experience and it was ripped from her by none other than Hokey muthafuckin' Gokey! Pssh!

I thought for sure that Danny was going home when they announced Kris was safe. Kris looked like he could've collapsed right there on the stage. I think he really expected tonight to be the end of the road for him. Thank God he's safe and thank God he gets to do the homecoming. I love him and I've got my fingers crossed that he'll manage to survive next week somehow. With any luck, all the angry Allison fans will revolt against Danny (and Adam) to give Kris all their support. He needs to win over her voters to stay in. Otherwise, this entire season will have been a waste and it will turn out just as predicted in January -- Danny/Adam as the Final 2.

Danny should've gone home. PERIOD. He was atrocious last night, he's creepy and he's a complete douchebag. I wanted to slap him when they showed the look on his face during Allison's final performance. He just looked proud as a peacock. Fix your jaggedy ass teeth, motherfucker!

Allison's farewell video made me want to cry. :( She was robbed. ROBBED! ROBBED!

No Doubt was... weird. I'm not used to seeing Gwen sing that kind of music anymore, LoL. I'm used to her "Hollaback Girl" style. "Just A Girl" is one of my favorite No Doubt songs though -- probably the favorite. Gwen is gorgeous and can do no wrong. But the performance was still weird.

Kudos to Daughtry. They were good. Not spectacular, and I'm not a huge fan of the song, but I'm happy for their success.

Paula Abdul looked ridiculous. How the hell is she gonna sit there and judge these people's vocals every week and then get up on stage and lip-synch so obviously? She looked so stupid! A woman her age shouldn't be up there dancing around like that, LoL. I mean, what happened to all the pain and back injuries and all that shit? A miraculous healing? The song sounded terrible too. That will never be played on today's radio and she's a fool for thinking otherwise.

This week was a colossal flop. Up yours, Idol! :flipoff:

Oh me too Tim.

Hopefully Kara writes some of Alison's songs for her debut album.

I'm probably in the minority here, but Kara is my new favorite judge. I've loved her since the auditions.

I have too. Sure, I've been annoyed when she's talked too much but at least she adds more to the show then Randy's same old shit and Paula's same old shit and Simon's bias.

Kara writing for Alison would be awesome! I hope her song is chosen for the finale too.

I agree with Kenny's whole post. Kris will need Alison's votes. We all need to unite together next week. I said this same thing last year too so we could help get Cook to win. I'm mobilizing all of you and everyone I know to vote for Kris next week LOL. There is no way I'm letting that smug asshole get into the finale, let alone win.

I also have to agree about Paula. She obviously lip-synchs yet she judges the contestants. That is a bit hard to swallow, although we all already knew she lip-synched anyway LOL.

As much as I'd love to see Danny watch Adam win, I actually hope that wouldn't happen, not only because Kris is the better out of him and Danny, but also(and this may seem silly), but I feel Kris really needs to stick it to him after what Danny did last night....he has to get him back somehow, and it would just feed this ego Danny has going on if Kris got eliminated next week.

I see Adam getting Allison's votes moreso than Kris.

I still sorta think Adam has the win locked up, but after THIS, I am just a tad concerned that HE could get eliminated next week or just not win...
Yeah, he definitely doesn't have it in the bag yet. At the very least, he's been in the Bottom 2 before. Danny's never even been in the Bottom 3. Gokey is like an annoying soap character you just can't get rid of. He's like Lily Winters.
