^^^ Thanks King. I guess it was just the comments directed specifically at the Danny fan base that really irked me.

I agree about Danny having a personality. I like Kris though, and I think he is adorable, so I wouldn't mind at all if he won. I just really don't want Adam winning, because I think he has conned half of the American Idol audience.

I agree that it isn't about the placement, its about the artist. Chris Daughtry did great because he is great. I think Allison will do just fine, though, because she already has so much talent, and she is only 17. She has lots of time to improve. And wasn't Jason Castro 4th place last year? I'm not sure.

I think there is a big diff b/w Chris and Allison. Chris was picked to win from day one so his ouster was shocking and a huge ordeal. Allison was never picked to win or expected to.

Adam Lambert is on the cover of EW this week. That's so unfair to Danny and Kris!

Yes Jason Castro was fourth last year. The fact they are only doing two songs next week may be a help for the contestants if they aren't favored. This way they only get one potentially bad choice of song and one of their own choosing. Other years you could get two bad songs (between the producer's choice and the judges). I still don't get how they will come up with judge's choice as there are three people left and four judges.

Allison is from LA, I thought so her homecoming would have been local. What I think is odd about the Kris/Danny issue is that people who are voting for Danny purely as a religious thing are not aware that Kris also has that kind of belief system.

Maybe they won't have Kara pick a song since she will be writing the song for the finale. That seems like a fair trade off.

That is unfair. I also saw a headline today questioning if Adam Lambert could be the first gay American Idol. I think that is wrong, too. Like that should influence people one way or another ... idk, I am just enjoying the show less and less as it gets closer to the end.

I think Adam would be the first gay Idol, and I've said the same thing myself. But...I don't know. That is huge exposure. It should have featured all three.

Terri Seymour was just on Good Day LA with clips from backstage last night. She was saying how Allison will be fine no matter what - just like Chris Daughtry.

But then Simon said...Terri, Randy, who came in fourth last year? And Randy didn't know. He said he knew Brooke White came in 5th. Simon said they proved his point. Terri asked Simon who came in fourth last year, and Simon said: I have no idea, that's the point - you can't say it doesn't matter what place people come in because the whole point of the show is to crown a winner. If you say it doesn't matter, people won't vote.
See, I don't agree with that.

True, most will fade off never to be heard from again. Some great contestants who were favorites even have. I mean, Latoya London was a favorite in season 4 and she all but disappeared after getting eliminated. Same goes for Melinda and others. However, there have been people less talented then Alison that got cut well before her that have done FANTASTIC.

For example, Bucky Covington, who was sometimes even hard to understand on Idol, and Kellie Pickler. Elliot Yamin has done very well for himself. Micheal Johns could do well once his album comes out. I do think being in the top 10 matters because that usually means you are at least on the radar for a record deal. I don't think placement necessarily matters as long as you make an impact and prove your worth. I do think the preference is to win but, for some, they may be better off not winning, like Daughtry indicated last night.

So, I don't agree with that. I expect that from Simon though. He's always said that. I even remember after Chris got cut he said that he felt there was a chance people would forget about him. Simon doesn't want to lessen the importance of winning because he doesn't want people to just do the show to make a name for themselves, which is basically what happens anyway. I mean, just look at the bad singers who come out to audition. It's all about the exposure.

The sad part is in the last two seasons the bias has been out of control. I don''t mind the show or judges having favorites but to throw others under the bus and to make it obvious who they want and to use manipulative tactics left and right is just too much. They need to let it be like past seasons and just let the performances speak for themselves and let the fans vote. If the fans screw up, they screw up. It's not going to change until they fix the voting system in some way but even that may not help.

I was thinking...it's funny how so many people have left this year during a theme week that seemed to be their week to shine.

Micheal Sarver got eliminated during Motown week and he was considered a soul singer (still don't get that but whatever). Matt got eliminated during Rat Pack week, which was perfectly suited for him. Now Alison gets eliminated during rock week when she is the rock chick. It's all quite ironic.

Obviously, there is no way of knowing. Time will tell. But, I wouldn't be surprised if Allison fades out.

I agree. It will likely help Kris, more then anyone else though. I just know they are going to try to sabotage him.

What King said is a fair trade off but I don't see that happening because we don't know for sure if Kara's song was chosen for the finale and I still see all 4 judges coming together to pick songs for each one of the three. They aren't going to leave a judge out.

Adam getting a whole cover is unfair but it's no more unfair then half the shit the show has done this year with Adam and Danny. Granted, they've done more for Adam but still. I love David Cook but the same goes for last year too. Only difference is neither Archie or Cook got a cover to themselves but Adam is the one that is going to sell. He's is going to win and be very big. Adam and Alison were the only two of the bunch who had a chance to make it really big because of their style, talent, and how commercial they are. Kris can be successful but I still need to see more from him. The show still has a chance to get it half right with Adam winning but they would need Kris to step up and prove himself to make things a bit better after last night.

Very true but the chances of someone like Danny fading are much greater as his style is very outdated and he's more of a niche artist then mainstream.

Kris runs the same risk but I do think he has potential to be commercial. I still have my doubts on that, though.

Well, we're just getting into matter of opinion now.

I could say Danny has a far greater chance of being successful because he has personality, talent, and charm, and Allison is an annoying twit. And then you'll say the opposite. LOL.

^Very true LOL.

It's all a matter of opinion though. I realize for Danny fans the internet must be like a warzone right now LOL. Alot of us are just upset because we've seen others go that we may like so bare with us. Alot of the frustration is with the show not giving some of the other contestants the credit they deserve or not bashing certain contestants when they destroy songs and it all goes back to last year too so I think alot of it is just coming to a boil this year.

Despite my obvious dislike of Danny, I do wish everyone this season well and hope for success for all of them in some form. Obviously, I prefer some more then others but that is just my general feeling on this. I do feel that Danny has talent. I just don't think he should still be here nor do I think it's the kind of talent that will lead to him being a HUGE star. I do see him being at least moderately successful within his genre of music.

Well, the show always pushes people. They're all going to make money off of the winner so they're pushing for the two people who can sell the most records. It happens every year.

I just happen to agree with the judges this season, as opposed to previous years.

Oh, for sure but the past two years has seen them be more blatant about it after the season 5 debacle and the boredom of season 6. I just hate how obvious they are about it now and how they don't even seem to give anyone else a chance or the credit they deserve. It's sad when we have Simon using reverse psychology alot to force the agenda too. Way too much manipulation IMO and if they are going to keep doing it they at least should try to cover it better.

It's very rare that we get a final two in which I like both. Season 2 and season 4 were the exceptions. I didn't mind last year but I can say that now because Cook won and Archie didn't LOL. If he had beat Cook, I would've been pissed. He's a nice kid but...no way LOL.

Yeah, I would like a finale where I do not care about the outcome.

Congrats, America.. you've made the wrong choice again :P

Of course, the right choice for me would be Adam going home, but oh well... :D

Anyways, I'm erasing this week from my memory... worst Idol week ever.

The only good thing was seeing Daughtry, although I did not love their new song. Kris being safe was great and Alison singing again was even better than the night before. LOVED IT!

No Doubt was just bad... Never heard Gwen sing live, but judging by this performance, I would say she can't really sing live.. :P

I wish Kris could win obviously, but I would take Danny's win before Adam...

KRIS FTW!
