I think seeing Kris making it to the finale made me as happy as David Cook winning last year. I'm so happy. Will be voting my butt off again next week. |

I love all the judges and everything, don't get me wrong, but in a way this does serve them right, sorta.... I bet they REALLY wanted a Danny/Adam finale....I mean, just from watching or reading stuff in this thread it looks like they tried to sabatoge Kris...but it failed. |

That was the moment of the season! All their pimping of Danny, especially early on, completely backfired. I loved watching every moment of the judges sheer anger and shock, LoL. Choke on it, bitches! I got a chuckle out of Ryan asking Simon what we can expect next week and he was basically like, "Um... it's a big ding dong." In other words, this finale will be a predictable bore. Adam's got this in the bag more than anyone in the history of the show. The producers know it, viewers know it, everyone knows it. If they even try and make it sound like there's any kind of a competition from this point forward, they're going to sound like fools. Their over-pimping of Adam is resulting in the most boring, predictable finale ever. Regardless, I'm glad Kris Allen made Top 2. That was my biggest wish, and it came true. Adam can win next week and I'll be happy. Kris stands no chance anyway. Most people didn't even know who the hell Kris Allen was until two weeks ago. I'm glad he managed to screw up the producers plans and fuck up their perfect God vs. Gay finale. :) |

Well, for those who wanted to see the judges shit their pants, you got it. Not only that Kris got in but they lost Danny. They did it exactly the way I thought they would. They saved Kris to make it the most suspenseful ending to a top 3 results show EVER. Never have I been on the edge of my seat during the top 3 round like I was tonight. They sure made it intense when it came down to Danny and Adam. The camera shots focused on both Adam and Danny and then shifting fast to Kara and the judges. Talk about intense! I also noticed that when Kris was announced safe, Randy was bowing to him. I think Randy and Kara are ok with him being in. I don't think Kara was miffed about losing Danny. I think she was more upset that Adam nearly went so she was reacting to that. Simon had a smirk on his face like he got served a big, heaping portion of crow. Danny sang his last song well. Much better then last night because he made it softer and he found his lower register for the first time since he sang "Hero." I can see why the girls, including Paula and Kara, were crying. Knowing what he went through and the way he performed on his last song (on the heels of that goodbye montage), it was emotional. That goodbye montage made me wonder what the hell happened to Danny. I liked him alot in the beginning, especially when he was with Jamar. It all went downhill the minute he got to the top 12. I wish him luck though and I applaud him for all he went through and overcame. He seemed a bit relieved. Maybe that is why his lower register and his singing tonight were much better. Kris being safe was such a nice moment. Seeing his family in shock and his reaction and the judge's reaction....best moment on Idol ever. Can you imagine what it will be like next week if he wins? It is possible as Kris could pick up Danny's fans. Has there ever been a contestant like Kris that got no attention at all, no pimping, was thrown under the bus two weeks straight and had everything against him, that got to the finale and won this show? I don't think there has. In fact, I know there hasn't been one. He could pull off the most unbelievable run to the finale and to the title ever and I hope he does now. Then the judges will really shit themselves LOL. LMAO to Simon calling next week a "ding dong" of a finale. I didn't like Simon's words at the end. "None of us would've predicted this." Sure, because people actually chose for themselves, which is the purpose of this show and used to be the norm on this show. Simon's been such an asshole this year. I was ok with him giving credit to Danny but boy did he give very little to Kris. All he said was that the second song made him a competitor. Big whoop! How about a congratulations? Jackass. Good work, everyone. It seems our voting efforts worked just like they did last year with Cook over Archuleta. Now we just need to do it again next week but even more because it is the final. I'm ok with either one winning but I will be pulling for Kris unless he completely tanks. I'm just glad that the rumor of all 3 in the finale was untrue. I got nervous there for awhile. Whatever happens, at least this season finally had a shocker and the show did not get it's "destined" finale like they did last year, even if last year was pretty good. |

I agree about the judges and Danny but Adam does not have this in the bag. He has alot of haters and there are alot of people who only watch the finale and vote with those they may be watching with and they may be turned off to him. Plus, Kris can pick up Danny's fans. In fact, I know he will because the Danny fans will want to strike back. Everyone thought Archuleta had it in the bag too and look what happened. If Kris performs well and gets fans behind him again and picks up Danny's fans, he has a very good chance, especially if Adam turns some people off. You also have people that will pull for the underdog. Nothing the show or judges do will hurt Kris. He's overcome everything in the past few weeks. They did everything they could to kick him out. They completely threw him under the bus last week and this week tried to make him forgotten but he still made it through. The guy has loads of momentum so he has a very good shot and I've never seen a contestant have so much against him like that and pull this off. He wasn't even seen onscreen until top 36!! If he wins, it will be the most shocking winner ever and will be the most unbelievable run we've ever seen on this show. Truly a underdog story. I can see him pulling it off and hope he pulls it off. I was thinking of Alison tonight and wondering if she could've did what Kris did and make it through. I don't think she could've. I think Kris fans mobilize better then her fans do and her fanbase always was sort of up and down, which was sad but whatever. I'm just so happy right now! |

Well, he knows that Kris stands no chance of winning. To sit there and pretend otherwise would make him look like a fool. They've pimped Adam so much that it's completely destroyed any sense of suspense that would be there with the finale. |

Next week will be interesting. I know some might be thinking that Adam has this in the bag. Every year for the World Series or Superbowl it isn't always the best team all season that wins but the one that is hitting their peak at the right moment. Kris could be peaking at the right moment and could pull a surprise upset. And maybe I am being bias, but I know there are others getting bored with Adam. While his performances are entertaining and get your attention, they are starting to get repetitive. I won't be horribly upset of Adam wins next week (like I would have been if Archuleta won last year), but I would love to see Kris win for a couple of reasons. 1) It would show that we are all not fooled by all the pimping and actually have our own opinions 3) Can't help but root for the dark horse 3) Seeing the judges faces would be priceless |

You may have a point but I wonder if Danny's fans will go to Adam....I mean its seemed like, in the past week ever since Alison's elimination, Danny and Kris were portrayed as rivals for this week's elimination. But this definitely was a very on-edge elimination night....even moreso than last week...though last week was just a shock, this was REALLY suspenseful. |

You are really underestimating Kris IMO. He will get Danny's fans because not only do they hate Adam but Kris is very similar in alot of ways to Danny in their eyes. Plus, didn't Ryan say there was a one million vote difference between the top 2? That can easily be made up if the Danny fans go for Kris, if Kris's fans mobilize even more, and if the Adam haters and people who are reacting against the judges go for Kris too. If Adam can end up in the bottom 3 a few weeks ago, it is very possible. It will be interesting to see how the judges play this. Does Simon pull out reverse psychology to help Adam like he did for Cook? Do the judges all gang up on Kris? Do they all just praise both of them or maybe they are more reserved in their Adam praise? Should be interesting. This is the first finale with two legitimate contenders (I don;t count Blake/Jordin in season 6 because he really had no chance) and one that is not a judge's favorite since season 5. I look forward to it. By the way, Ryan mentioned next week is a two part finale. I'm assuming that means performances Tuesday and two hour grand finale Wednesday as usual but I'm reading some on other boards think it means a 3 night finale so I wonder what the deal is. |

I agree completely. Good post. I also agree with you, daysfan. This was one of the best results nights outside of the finale ever. Talk about edge of your seat. I can only imagine what next week will be like. Like last year, I will be here Tuesday to post and all but I will be on vacation starting next Wednesday so I won't be here but I will be watching elsewhere on pins and needles LOL. I will just have to post my thoughts when I get back but I can't wait. Tonight saved the season for me. Edited by PhoenixRising05, May 13 2009, 09:34 PM.

I think Kris may have a chance, but I do think that some people just voted for him last night in an attempt to get Danny out. I like Kris, but I really don't think he deserves to win this. There are times I have loved him, but other times I find him so boring. |

Actually, you know what? I change my mind about Adam having this in the bag so easily. Ryan said tonight that only one million votes separated the Top 2. Between Kris and Adam, we don't know who was #1, but a one million vote difference is a very close margin. Plus, Danny was eliminated tonight and I can't see many of his fans transferring their votes to Adam next week. Kris Allen will win the votes of Danny fans. Paired with the fact that this seems to be Kris Allen's peaking moment, he might -- MIGHT -- have a shot at winning next week. |

That is the same logic I and others have. That is what makes this fun because he does have a chance. I can't wait until next week! I just watched it back and Ryan said two part finale on Tuesday and Wednesday so it's just like it normally is. I also noticed that when Adam headed to the couches earlier in the show, Danny didn't even reach out to him but Kris did and they hugged but Danny completely ignored Adam and Adam basically ignored Danny and yet Adam still put his arm around Danny when it came down to them and still embraced him when he got eliminated. So much underlying tension and drama LOL although I genuinely think Adam tries to get along. Not so sure about Danny but whatever. It's over now. I really got worried when Idol pushed for time tonight. With so little time left, I thought for sure either all 3 were making it or Kris was going home and they were going to rush him off stage and cut off his final performance. I'm glad that didn't happen and that the rumor was untrue. I forgot that top 3 results week and, of course, the finale are the weeks the show always tends to run overtime because of so much going on. Wish I would've remembered that sooner as I couldn't been spared a whole lot of anxiety LOL. Tonight was a great night through. I'm very happy with the result. It sort of like justice for what happened to Alison last week in a way. Edited by PhoenixRising05, May 13 2009, 09:45 PM.

OMG! I'm so so so so happy right now. I voted my ass off last night! I know a lot of others did too. A local radio station here was dissing Danny big time and were loving Kris and most voted for Kris. Amazing night! I loved the judges shitting themselves as their destined final two didn't happen. I loved Simon's look. I knew if Kris was safe he'd be safe first. Such an awesome moment. I can at least say I'd be happy with either winning. Although, Kris could definitely pull out a win. It's obviously a very close race. As Kenny said, one million really isn't all that much of a difference. I do wish the judges would at least give Kris more credit. It's frustrating how blatantly obvious they are about their favorites. It's getting BAD. Although Simon would rarely ever admit he's wrong so I figured he say the crap that he did. |

That pissed me off so much and all it does is seem to rally more to Kris's defense. Randy seemed like the only one happy about Kris making it. I'm sure Paula and Kara like Kris but they seemed upset. The looks on their faves when they thought Adam may go though was still priceless. You could read it all over their face. You could tell there were thinking "There goes our season if Adam goes" LOL. They all seemed relieved when he was saved. Let's face it. Between Adam and Danny, they want Adam. Paula looks like a fool now for declaring Danny/Adam twice before we even reached top 3 LOL and Simon looks awful too for running around to everyone proclaiming Danny vs Adam. At least Kara and Randy aren't on record saying shit like that LOL (although Randy did say he felt it would be Danny/Adam not that it was necessarily who it should be and who he wanted). Adam actually seemed shocked when he was saved. That is what I like about him. He never acts like he is safe. At least we will have that friendship feel on display since Kris and Adam get along. They both seem like good people. Adam was so great with those kids in the homecoming video, talking to them about his hair and his singing. Kris is just like an average guy and is such an underdog. Both have rootability but Kris's rootabiity is off the charts right now since he has the ability to stick it to the judges and the show. He symbolizes what the show is about. Not about the pimping and what the show thinks is best. It's about what the people want. Maybe Kris and what he has done and could do can help get this back to pre-season 6 before the pimping and manipulation got out of control. I was glad they saved Kris first. I figured they would but he was the one I was pulling for. Saved me some anxiety LOL. I knew once he was safe it was likely Danny going. I saw many boards rallying for Kris. Never been to Survivor Sucks but I'm glad they helped out and will likely help out next week. It's going to be interesting for sure, especially since people will mobilize even more next week given it's the finale. It's going to be nuts! Edited by PhoenixRising05, May 13 2009, 10:55 PM.
