Aww...that is cool. I noticed it too but I thought nothing of it. I think that article on the Kris/Adam fighting was really Kris/Danny or maybe Adam/Danny. I think they got the story wrong. Either that or they blew something between Kris and Adam out of proportion. Kris and Adam are always hugging and talking. Danny is the one that seems to never do any of that with Adam. He did that last night. Adam walked to the couch and Kris reached out and embraced him and Danny did nothing. Adam already acknowledged that he and Danny had issues. That is what I like about this now. After a season in which the contestants never seemed close as a whole, we will have two friends in the finale so we will have the close-knit feel there, much like in the past when two people who are close get to the finale. I like that. If I can't have Alison (who I agree should be in the finale and it would've been nice seeing her and Adam since you could tell they were really close like a brother and sister), then I will take Kris vs Adam. |

USA Today Is a backlash brewing against American Idol's Adam Lambert? For three straight weeks, American Idol producers give Adam Lambert the final performance slot on Tuesday's shows. Simon Cowell tells Oprah Winfrey he thinks Adam will win the competition, then more or less instructs the Idol audience to vote for him. On Wednesday, Katy Perry wears a cape with "Adam Lambert" emblazoned in red on the back. Hey, guys, I think we get the hint. But American Idol viewers have a long history of loving underdogs. And, while they usually side with whatever Simon says, past a certain point they don't really like being told what to do. And I'm starting to wonder -- and, judging by several of your comments since Tuesday night, so do you -- that the Idol producers have been so ham-fisted in trying to exert influence over the voters this season that their efforts just might backfire. So the Adam Lambert backlash seems to have begun. Although it might more properly be called an anti-judge backlash. Newsday says it thinks Kris Allen is getting a raw deal. Eric Deggans at the St. Petersburg Times says if Lambert loses, it'll be because the show wants him to win too badly. And does anybody seriously believe nobody that works on the Idol set saw Perry's cape before the show went live? Former contestant Matt Giraud recently told ABC News Radio that "the judges have their favorites and they're going to make sure they do well. ... There were times I felt, like, invisible in the competition." Danny Gokey even addressed the issue of Simon's closing instructions to the viewing audience on Tuesday's show. Asked by a reporter how he felt Tuesday "when Simon was making a clear plea to vote for Adam," Danny responded: "It doesn't make me mad or disappoint me. That's who he believes is going to make money. I didn't get into this thing for the money. I didn't get into it for the glamorous lifestyle. But I feel like my goal is so different and it didn't line up with what they see as a pop star. But it's OK. It can't be what I'm about. People can get annoyed by it." I hate buying into conspiracy theories, and I'm fine with a little producer manipulation. Hey, it's their show, they can do what they want with it. And I've got no problems with the notion of Adam winning. But I do like a little subtlety, not that that's Adam's or American Idol's strong suit. If they're going to try to pull the wool over my eyes, I'd really prefer they not scratch my face with their fingernails while they're doing it. And don't even get me started on that Entertainment Weekly cover story. Somehow, I have the feeling Nigel Lythgoe would have handled this better. |

I just read that Katy Perry caused a big ruckus behind the scenes on Wednesday because the producers had no clue about her Adam Lambert cape. Um... I don't buy it. At all. |

MJsBigBlog Katy Perry’s Sneaky Pimping of Adam Lambert Perez Hilton, who attended the American Idol results show Wednesday night, told Ryan Seacrest yesterday on his KISS FM radio show that nobody at Idol knew that Katy Perry planned to pimp Adam Lambert with her flashy white Adam-engraved cape. The version of Katy’s performance that’s up at iTunes has the cape-pimping edited out… Also, slightly controversially, Perez says that Adam told him after the show that once he’s able to speak to the media (that won’t happen until the competition is over), “he will be who he is and proud of that.” |

How could producers not know?! Geez, don't they see their guests?! So Katy Perry could have brought a gun with her on the stage.. :P |

Plus, didn't they actually zoom on the cape? Why would they do that unless it was planned? Unless perhaps she tricked them into thinking she had another cape with something different written and then swapped them at the last minute, LoL. Sneaky little bitch! |

Paula Abdul Dishes on Next Week’s Final On the Phoenix KISS John Jay and Rich radio show, Paula Abdul dishes on what we can expect from next week’s final. Simon Fuller’s pick (last year, it was Clive who chose the song) Contestant’s pick (either a reprise or new song) Coronation song (Paula thinks Kara DioGuardi wrote the song, but she’s not sure if there’s more than one song) Will Adam and Kris will be sing the same Coronation song? Will they be allowed to re-arrange it? For Kris, in particular, being able to re-imagine the song to suit his style will be key. Paula wouldn’t spill about whose lined up to perform on the finale, but she did hint that there will be duets, maybe with well-known recording artists. Paula still will not confirm whether she’ll be back next year. http://mjsbigblog.com/paula-abdul-dishes-on-next-weeks-final.htm |

Good! They're singing three songs next week. I've been waiting for that all season. Carrie Underwood is also performing on Tuesday. Yes, Tuesday. This means that Idol will have to fit seven performances into one hour and still make time for Kara's yapping mouth, LoL. |

Star Tribune Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper and Black Eyed Peas among 'American Idol' finale acts LOS ANGELES - "American Idol" finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will be opening up for a few music legends. Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas and Keith Urban are among the artists scheduled to perform on Wednesday's finale before either Allen or Lambert is crowned the eight season champion. Previous "Idol" winners David Cook and Carrie Underwood will also croon on the two-night finale. Underwood will perform on Tuesday's episode, which will feature Lambert, a 27-year-old theater actor from San Diego, and Allen, a 23-year-old college student from Conway, Ark., duking it out for a record contract and the title of "American Idol." |

Jason Mraz has also been confirmed for the finale. Apparently, Kris Allen will be doing a duet with... Keith Urban? That's inspired. I kinda like it! |

First off, not buying the Katy Perry shit at all. The show had to know and, with all the other shit they've done, how would they not endorse it? That article about the Adam backlash pretty much reflects the general buzz. I think that is what pissed Simon off more then anything. Kris has a very good chance at winning this now. I think he felt with Danny there that people would vote for Adam just so Danny wouldn't win. Now, he knows people will go for the underdog and Kris will likely get Danny's votes on top of the conservative people who just want to vote for Adam (there are some out there). I have a feeling that regardless of performance, Kris may very well take this thing. That seems to be the prevailing theory. The judge's pimping, on top of the other reasons I posted, above, should be enough to get Kris over. I do think that article is right. The pimping was never this bad under Nigel Lythgoe. It was bad last year but not like this. They need to get him back as the show has suffered without, particularly with time issues.. I read Danny's comments and he said it all (which are right but Danny needs to stop acting like he's all about the music and inspiration too...everyone does it for the money)...they know Adam will sell. That is what this has been about. Since Daughtry, they don't trust the voters to put through who will make the most money so they manipulate and pimp. What they don't seem realize is that most times people will at least vote through one of the right people, if not both, who deserve to be there at the end. Matt's comments, which I also read a few weeks ago, were pretty telling too and he was one of those most affected. Nothing he ever did was good enough, just like Alison and Kris. It was the same for Carly and Micheal last year too. I think the judges know they were good but saying it does not fit their agenda so they are reserved in their praise and sometimes unfair instead of doing what they should do and what they used to do, which is call it like they see it and be fair with no manipulation or pimping. Kara is the only one I feel does that most of the time and even she doesn't do it all of the time. Simon used to but this year he went downhill big time. That picture of Kris and Adam with the nail polish is cool. Danny really comes off like the third wheel in that picture. I figured Carrie would perform on Tuesday as she sang the goodbye song this year and every year on the top 2 performance night they end the show with a montage of the season and the person who sings the goodbye song performing. I figured Kara's song would be used as the coronation song. I look forward to hearing it. They should just let them both sing the same song since Kris and Adam will likely change it up to suit them anyway. So, no Clive Davis this year? Wow...first he stopped being involved in the top 3 and acting as a guest judge and then he stops helping out in the top 2? They must have pissed him off. Simon Fuller is the creator and knows music so that should be interesting but quite a surprise. Happy they are singing twice. I'm sure they will go overtime but I think they will have cleared that already. Usually, at this time of year, it's not a problem for Idol to go over so it's expected, I guess, especially on the finale night. Alot of the finale scoop I already knew about. I'm excited if it's Kris and Keith Urban. That would be cool. It all sounds awesome. Alison and Cyndi Lauper should be fun. Queen Latifah should be fun as well. I wonder if they are going to do some of the stuff they did back in February when they opened the American Idol Experience in Disney World. They brought back all the Idol winners and Carrie Underwood and David Cook sang a duet. They mentioned both Cook and Underwood being back and Paula mentioned duets (I'm sure she meant duets like Alison and Cyndi Lauper but she could mean former Idol duets too) so my thinking was they may have Cook and Carrie sing that same duet they did back in February. Perhaps we will get all 7 Idol winners singing together too like they did in Florida back in February. That would be cool. Paula has been this season's scoop machine. She is always opening her mouth about what the show is doing the following week. Not surprised she still isn't commenting on her future with the show. She won't say shit until she goes through negotiations and since Fox wants to keep Idol for a long time and wants everyone on board, they will give her what she wants. Simon will stick up for her too as he wants to keep her, Randy, and Ryan together. Kara is the one that will always be uncertain. Sure, she will likely be back next year but she will never have the security the others do with Simon in the corner and all. |

According to Ryan Seacrest (on Larry King tonight), the first round is the contestants favorite performance of the season (so I guess they won't be doing a new song), the second round is Simon Fuller's choice, and the third is the coronation song and they WILL be singing the same song. |

Danny Gokey tells E! Online that he wants to be an eyewear model. Link here. "I would love to be an eyeglass model. I'm serious," he says. "That would be so cool. I haven't been offered anything yet because I'm just leaving the American Idol bubble right now. I hope I made glasses cool for kids. That was kind of the word that I got on the street—that kids were kind of excited to wear glasses again." -------------------------------------------------------------------- Vote For The Worst has officially endorsed "that that that's not Adam Lambert." In other words, Kris Allen has their support. Link here. Sure, we can't remember the guy's name (we think he's been on the show since the beginning, but honestly, we can't remember a single thing that he has done)... but Vote for the Worst encourages you to vote for that guy that's not Adam Lambert. Why? How can Vote for the Worst not vote for the flamboyant, crossdressing, screeching guy who should be right up our alley? First, Adam has never done anything remotely up to his pre-show potential besides maybe "Ring of Fire". If Adam wanted VFTW support, he shouldn't have been a pussy. He should have performed the way he wanted to and completely queened out like he did before Idol. We would've loved that guy. But most importantly, the show has become such a ridiculous vehicle to promote everything Adam Lambert, it has gotten sickening. Simon Cowell literally begged people to vote for Adam. The guest performers wear Adam's name on their clothing. Adam performs terribly and the judges praise it anyway. |
