If I quit AI after people winning that I didn't think deserved to I would have quit after season 2......

I really would have quit AI if Blake Lewis had won over Jordin Sparks though.....

me either. I love Adam too. But I think alot of people were just tired over all the pimping Adam got. Also I really enjoy Kris's type of music more. But I would have been happy even if Adam would have won. And even thou Kris won which I think he deserved. Adam is the one that is getting all the coverage. Which I think is unfair to Kris. I think when he sung heartless last week is when the tides turned.

I voted for Kris for one reason only: I really like him. I did not vote for him because I'm a Christian (I am) or from a red state (I am--Texas). Had I liked Adam's style and voice better, I would have voted for him. I don't find Kris bland or dime-a-dozen or mediocre or all the other backlash that's cropping up already. I believe we are permitted to like entertainers who present to us an entire package we like, regardless of whether said performer has the "best" voice: shit, look at some of the entertainers on the stage tonight. Fergie can't sing live at all, KISS didn't get where they were because they sang like angels, Steve Martin . . . um, great comedian but not sure why he was there.
I believe that you and others voted for Kris because they are fans and really enjoy him, but some did vote for Kris just as a vote against Adam. I don't think him being gay is the main reason though; it seems that people were pissed about the judges favoring Adam the whole season and wanted to get back at them.

All I watched was the end of the Champions duet and all I have to say is, Adam had major MAMELTOE!

In the end, Kris winning might hurt his career more than anything.

The media tomorrow is going to be full of people talking about how he stole the title from Adam. The fact that his win was an unexpected upset will follow him around forever and probably damage whatever career he might have.

I forgot to mention the Michael/Megan duet with Steve Martin. LOL! That was ridiculous! The Tatiana thing was stupid too, but I enjoyed the rest of the show.

They will all be on Larry King this Friday night! Ryan is hosting it.

Thanks Angie about the info on the Larry King show. I'm shocked that Kris won, but I would have been happy if Adam won too. Loved their duet with Queen this week and wish it would have been longer.

Tati is whacked, but has a voice. With Nick/Normund at least he is in on the joke. Bikini Girl and Kara. OMH. I wonder which charity is getting money.

Re-watching it now, Simon is such a dickweed.

Couldn't he at least try to act happy or wear a fake smile? He looked severely pissed off through the entire show. I'm sure he knew ahead of time, which explains his final comments to Adam and Kris. When Kris was announced as the winner, Simon looked like he wanted to vomit. There was no happiness in his expression or body language whatever. Rude ass!

But I guess what bothers me about that idea is that we have no way of realistically measuring how many people anti-voted against Adam. It's hard for me to believe most people would summon the energy to do that: if the Finale had been between, say, Adam and Allison, I don't think I would have voted at all because I just wouldn't have cared enough to sit there and hit redial for hours. It's just really hard for me to imagine that anyone who didn't already like Kris would have wasted the time to vote for him simply to make some sort of anti-pimping statement. I suppose a small number of people might, but surely that would have to be a very small pool indeed.

I know you're not saying this, but for me it's frustrating to hear that the reason Kris won is because America prefers mediocrity and safe blandness when I don't think that fairly describes Kris. I also simply don't think it's true that Adam is a vastly superior performer/artist who got robbed by a country who wasn't "ready" for his amazing talent. I, honestly, do not think Adam is that special, and I'd venture to say most people who voted for Kris feel that way as well. I think Adam is charming, charismatic, attractive and talented, and he'll have a good career; I just don't think there was any sort of injustice tonight.

I'm really disgusted with the majority of Americans tonight. Well, in several decisions that the majority of Americans have made recently. Adam clearly had the most talent and performance ability. He really delivered all throughout the season whereas Kris just doodled along with his super kid grin and hooked too many in who ignored that this was a talent competition.

That's your opinion, to which you are of course entitled. But those of us who like and prefer Kris are not clueless morons who can't tell a good performance from a bad one and can't recognize talent.

Just got home from the Idol party and all I can say is WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!

Adam lost and thank goodness he did! He will do much better on his own. Hopefully he gets signed to Universal or Sony and stay far away from 19 Entertainment and their desire to mold everyone into what they think they should be. I honestly think Adam can bring back hair metal/glam rock

Congrats to Kris and his fans. Happy for you guys.

I just can't see Kris ever being a big star. Sure, he's a good singer but so is Mat Kearney, Jack Johnson and Matt Nathanson (who have the same style) and while they have a core fanbase (I'm one) they will never be mainstream because there's nothing "special" about them.

ETA: I hope this doesn't come off as a back-handed compliment LOL

It's true.

Adam losing was the best possible scenario for everyone. Even Adam.

Yeah, there is no way to know for sure. I am just going by A LOT of comments I have read on various boards on the internet wanting Kris to win, just so Adam wouldn't.

Apparently AT&T has confirmed that out of 100 million votes, Kris got 38 million votes from Arkansas, his home state.

Never underestimate the pride of small town folks!

Yes indeed, overall I think it is the best for everyone involved...I mean even for Adam fans(and I am both an Adam and a Kris fan), its still going to be fine, because some label WILL sign him, as Rick sorta pointed out...and I am sure Kris will be at least a moderate success, too.

A great finale tonight.
