Angie, I just watched the clip you posted about Adam and yes what I saw there was a nice singing voice. But what I have seen on AI is nothing like that. I have seen yelling and that high pitched screech in both performances we have seen. I didn't care for his version of "Believe" because I thought that just came out as a theater performance.

Like I have said, what I have seen he is nothing more than an actor playing the part of a rocker. I just don't feel like there is any thing behind it. One thing he definitely has to do at some point is sing a completely broken down song where he is able to sing softer. Right now when I see him I see someone doing an impersonation of a bunch of different rockers and don't feel like any of it is the real Adam.

It is the same reason that I didn't care for David A last year. I never felt like this was the real person. Not performing we got "oh gooey...oh geez" and then this very mature person during performances. It came off as someone who was trained.

I want someone who pulls me in and Adam just doesn't do that. And really no one on this show does this season. There is no one on here that makes me excited to see what they are going to perform next week.

I respect that you like him. LOL. It's just I hate when the judges just PUSH people on us. Ugh, GOD!

I just cannot stand him. He is so conceited. And I Just think he is a screamer!

I know he is going to win too. I just KNOW it.

Yeah. We probably really will have a Gokey/Lambert finale, which will be so boring... lol

I think Lambert is capable of greatness, but he always resorts to screaming and over-the-top glam rock campy theatrics.

Meanwhile, these are my song suggestions for next week...

* Megan Joy Corkrey - "Jolene" by Dolly Parton or "Crazy" by Patsy Cline

* Matt Giraud - "I Still Believe In You" by Vince Gill

* Anoop Desai - "Shameless" by Garth Brooks

* Adam Lambert - "TROUBLE" by Travis Tritt

* Alexis Grace - "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton or "Watch Me" by Lorrie Morgan

* Michael Sarver - "Your Man" by Josh Turner

* Danny Gokey - "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Brad Paisley (it's about Jesus, LoL)

* Lil Rounds - "Crazy" by Patsy Cline or "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton

* Scott MacIntyre - "When You Say Nothing At All" by Allison Krauss

* Allison Iraheta - "Fancy" by Reba McEntire

* Kris Allen - "Forever & Ever Amen" by Randy Travis

The judges won't use their veto power unless Adam, Lil or Danny are voted off... which is very unlikely at this point.

The closer it gets to Top 5, the more likely they'll be to use it on someone less pimped, just for the sake of using it and causing a stir.

I don't want a Adam/Danny finale, because it would suck if Paula got it right on top 13 night. Come on show be a little unpredictable.

I think years back when Jennifer Hudson was voted off that it wasn't fair as her hometown of Chicago was without power that night, so they couldn't watch AI and vote for her. That would have been a good reason for a veto situation as who knows how many votes for her were lost. So while I am not a fan of the veto idea, that actually would have made sense.

I honestly don't think both Adam and Danny will make it to Top 2. One of them probably will, but not both. I have a feeling that people will either sour on Danny because the show will start pimping his dead wife again, or they'll sour on Adam because of the slutty drag photos and his "one trick pony" scream-o performances.

Not to mention, Simon used to be really mean to Jennifer Hudson. He liked a few of her performances, but he really, really was mean to her. He rarely liked her. I think he likes to pretend he liked her looking back on it because she won an Oscar, but they loved LaToya and Fantasia much better that season.

With Daughtry and Tamara, the judges were pimping them from the get-go to win, and when they got eliminated, it was shocking. But with that guy from last season and J. Hud...they were never in the running to win. They wanted Fantasia to win the entire season.

So, that montage clips of the past potential veto-ees didn't even make sense. I get what they were going for, but it didn't make much sense.

Here are some of the studio versions of this week's performances. I like Adam's studio version ten times better than his live performance. I just read that they're actually playing it on the radio, LoL.

Adam Lambert - Black or White

Matt Giraud - Human Nature

Megan Corkrey - Rockin' Robin

LoL, she actually does the "CAW!" at the end of the studio version.

IMO, the only reason Paula was so goo-goo ga-ga over Adam is because he knows how to work the stage. He has lots and lots of stage experience. He was in "Wicked," for God's sakes. Not to mention the drag shows, LoL. It's not like he was just some random guy with no stage experience who miraculously blossomed overnight. Now that Joanna Pacitti's been disqualified, he's the closes thing to a "plant" that we have this season. Really though, his voice is not all that. Not the way he abuses it.

Exactly, Kenny.

If they don't use it on one of the "chosen few," then you will see it used on someone just for the hell of it. I mean, they usually have a double elimination around mid-season anyway sometimes when they have Idol Gives Back.

I really like the new rule. It doesn't take the power away from America and it diminishes the influence of VFTW and helps to keep the more talented in. I think they are just trying to ensure they get a decent end to the show season, unlike last year where we were left with nothing but David and David. The others had no viable shot at all. This year it could get interesting.

I must say that this rule change also helps the results shows in that it makes the final performances from the ousted contestants mean more. I always hated ending the show on the person going home singing because most times they got cut off or just became a heaping, emotional mess. Now the person sings for a purpose and, if the judges don't save them, we end the show on their goodbye video. Plus, the person sort of gets one more chance to impress others in hopes of being noticed. Jasmine actually sang her song better last night then the other night. By the way, love Carrie's song. I've said it before but it works well with the video packages.

I also like how there was very little filler. Of course, having the rule change and double elimination helped so we will definitely get some next week but between the judge's save and everything else the results shows should be a bit better. It also was nice that they got rid of the Q&A shit and all the pointless banter.

I really don't get the point of having them all move in together. They haven't done that in a few years and I still don't get it. I mean, this isn't the Real World. Who cares? LOL. The house was nice and it was a fun video but still. The Ford videos keep getting worse and worse too.

I was also glad the show did a better job of involving Scott in the group performance, which was a bit better this week. Sure, Scott was awkward and, as Kenny said, he kind of grabs your attention for all the wrong reasons but it was better and it was nice to see Alexis and others helping him out so he could participate a bit more. He will be around for awhile but I don't see him making it into the top 5.

Kanye West bugs me and I noticed the judges didn't even watch his performance. They must not be fans and good thing they didn't stay as he was on top of their table surrounded by a mosh pit. Kelly was great. She put on some weight but looks good. She was so cute with Ryan and that little moment with Ryan and Simon saying the song was about them was hilarious. I was shocked Kelly said she was never in a relationship. She is talented and has a lovely personality. I would think she would be taken by someone by now LOL. She had a good performance though. Loved that song.

I was pleased with the results. I've always said it's horrible to be boring in anything and Jasmin and Jorge, who sang well, were boring. In all honesty, neither really should not have been there even though they did impress me so I guess it kind of took care of that. Diaidol must have really screwed up because Alison was not even in the bottom (unless she was and they protected her like I feel they did with Archie last year), although I did notice they never said Anoop was in the bottom two. They just told him to go to the center. I love how Anoop knew too. He was ready to walk over the minute Ryan said his name. How cute was Matt when Ryan called his name? He thought it meant go to the center of the stage LOL.

I think we will see all the wild cards taken out quick. I expect it all to come down to Danny, Lil Rounds, Alexis, Adam, and Alison. Those are the only threats and that would be where the true competition begins because they all have been pimped and, if they all survive, the judges can't save any of them once they hit top 5. I think the new rule is designed in hopes to reach a competitive finish and I think it will do just that. I think we will see the most wide open final 5 in a few years.

As for Adam, if he can tone it down and sing more like he did in that clip, maybe I could go from hating him to starting to see what the judges are seeing. To me, he's too much of a poser (the Stephen Tyler style and David Cook look need to go...some originality please!) and too theatrical and over the top.

I can't wait to see Carrie next week. I love that song so that should be a good performance. I love that they are bringing back a former Idol each week to perform along with another musical guest. Reduces results show filler. Country week seems a bit earlier then usual although I do remember it being used before around the time they are down to ten. I always like it so I can't wait. I hope they at least have a mentor next week. I hated not having one this week but I think they will have some time being down to 11 people now. I would love Martina McBride or Reba McEntire. Hell, why not just use Carrie? I wish they would use former Idols as mentors. It would help.

Simon will be miserable though. He hates it. I think the only time he liked it was with Carrie LOL. I just hope the contestants remember it won't be so much them as it is him. I think many of them will do well. I expect Micheal to do well. I think you can take any song and make it suit you and I think some of them have versatile enough voices to pull something good off. Should be interesting.

I just want to touch on something Kenny mentioned in his song selections for the contestants. I can't see Alison singing "Fancy" at all. I think the rest of the selections were ok but that one...no way. She has too much edge for that. She could sing "Sin Wagon" or maybe "Before he Cheats." Those would suit her personality and voice.

Was "Sin Wagon" on the list of available songs? VFTW published a list over a week ago with all the possible song choices, and I don't recall seeing that song on the list. Anyway, if it's on the list, I could see her singing that as well. Fancy has a nice little edge to it though and I think she would rock it. "I might've been born just plain white trash, but Fancy was my naaame!" :P

As for "Before He Cheats," no way! LoL It'd be a terrible choice for her, IMO. She'd just be compared to Carrie (especially singing it on Idol) and their voices are nothing alike. I still remember Lakisha trying to tackle "Jesus Take The Wheel" and what a disaster that turned out to be.

Ditto. He's like a mix of David Bowie and Mick Jagger. I don't like either of them. He has a gorgeous voice when he just tones it down, but right now he's just all over the place. I can't believe that Simon Cowell had the nerve to call Von Smith "self-indulgent" yet he hasn't said a word to Adam about how over-the-top his stage performance is. The emo hair flipping and the wide mouth with his tongue sticking out drives me INSANE.

He's more like a campy androgynous circus side show than a legitimate mainstream music artist.

As I heard someone on the radio say this morning, according to their rules they couldn't have even applied to to Tamara and Chris because they were both eliminated after the top five (both got 4th place). So their rule couldn't have even been used for those two.

They just hate admitting that both Jennifer and Chris are doing better than some of their winners. I don't know if when Chris was eliminated they would have used it because the other person was Katherine McPhee and she was the only girl left at that moment. They loved her and really wanted Chris and Katherine as their final. Although I do think they might have used it last year with Michael Johns.

Able to actually listen to Adam's studio version of Black and White a lot more than his performance. He was just focusing on singing instead of putting on a performance. Still not a fan, but at least there is a moment that I felt like he was singing.

The more I listen to Matt Giraud's studio song, the more I like him.

His voice is so relaxing and soulful. Definitely better than Timberlake.

I think I was more shocked that Simon didn't rip him to shreds over that last night. I take nothing Paula says seriously, Randy spends time bragging about himself and I can't figure Kara out at times. But I thought for sure Simon would say something to him, but he liked it.

LoL, Kara confuses me too. She tells people to stay true to themselves and show what kind of artist they are, but then when they take her advice and pick a song that's defines what kind of artist they are, they're told it's too "safe" and they need to step outside their comfort zone.
