Maybe I'll watch Wednesday's AI online over the weekend. I ended up missing it and all these descriptions make me want to see what I missed.

If America votes you out, then fuck you. You're done. LOL.
It sucks that they get voted out by America, only to have their dreams hanging on the shoulders of the judges... and then they reject them too, LoL. It's like a double slap in the face.

SIMON: "America hated you, and so do we. We're not saving you. Goodbye!"

Did you see how mean Simon was to Jorge last night? He didn't even try to soften the blow. Ryan asked him if they were going to use their power and he was just like, "NO! Sorry!" LoL.

LoL, it's funny you say that considering that they've been billing this season as one with the most male talent ever.

I like most of the guys better than the girls, but I'm really enjoying Megan. She's so quirky and cute and random and I love the little dance she does when she sings. Lil is great too. Then there's Allison, who has a great rocker chick voice but she seems so awkward and uncomfortable in interviews. It makes me uncomfortable watching her, LoL. I don't like Alexis Grace at all. She seems very phony.

Hmmm....I haven't really been into the show that much this season, but just a few thoughts...

-The girl who sang last was awful, I thought. I think it would have been ok had it not been so over the top.

-I really like Danny!

-I did think Adam's performance was a bit extreme...and honestly, I thought "Justin Timberlake" was better.

-Sick of the audience and their boooos everytime Simon opens his mouth. It was old after like...the first season. He's actually the only judge I really care to hear.

-I saw someone in the thread mention David Archuleta, and was instantly reminded of how much I can't stand him, and how much I enjoyed David Cook last season... :)

Yeah, Kenny, this new twist is awful. It's pretty heartless. They are rejected by America and the judges in one night.

That has been bugging me the last couple of seasons. They don't even listen to what he is actually saying and just boo. If they would actually listen to what he had to say they would realize he is gives constructive criticism unlike the other three.

Thoughts? LoL.

Kenny that is an LOL. How can they cut down November Rain to a few minutes? Will they have Steven Adler from Celebrity Rehab come on and tell them the dangers of drug abuse and how to get kicked out of a band while he is half out of his mind or Slash could talk about his book that he wrote when Montel still had his show?

I can't see Alison singing "Fancy" at all. I think the rest of the selections were ok but that one...no way. She has too much edge for that. She could sing "Sin Wagon" or maybe "Before he Cheats." Those would suit her personality and voice.
Was "Sin Wagon" on the list of available songs? VFTW published a list over a week ago with all the possible song choices, and I don't recall seeing that song on the list. Anyway, if it's on the list, I could see her singing that as well. Fancy has a nice little edge to it though and I think she would rock it. "I might've been born just plain white trash, but Fancy was my naaame!" :P

As for "Before He Cheats," no way! LoL It'd be a terrible choice for her, IMO. She'd just be compared to Carrie (especially singing it on Idol) and their voices are nothing alike. I still remember Lakisha trying to tackle "Jesus Take The Wheel" and what a disaster that turned out to be.

As for Adam, if he can tone it down and sing more like he did in that clip, maybe I could go from hating him to starting to see what the judges are seeing. To me, he's too much of a poser (the Stephen Tyler style and David Cook look need to go...some originality please!) and too theatrical and over the top.
Ditto. He's like a mix of David Bowie and Mick Jagger. I don't like either of them. He has a gorgeous voice when he just tones it down, but right now he's just all over the place. I can't believe that Simon Cowell had the nerve to call Von Smith "self-indulgent" yet he hasn't said a word to Adam about how over-the-top his stage performance is. The emo hair flipping and the wide mouth with his tongue sticking out drives me INSANE.

He's more like a campy androgynous circus side show than a legitimate mainstream music artist.
The more I think about it your right about Alison and "Before He Cheats." That is the kind of song she needs though. "Sin Wagon" was not on there but it has been sung on Idol before. I have no idea if it will qualify but it's the first song I thought of for her when it was announced as Country week.

I agree with what many of you are saying. On one hand, I like the rule (it also cuts down on results show filler) but, on another, it's heartless and cruel because it's double rejection but that is also the way the music business works. I think they all know what they are getting into, even though that doesn't soften the blow. Simon is known for being blunt but I also think time constraints were why he was so brutal on Jorge but Simon has done shit like that. Randy tries to be nice and that is where they differ LOL.

I did laugh when they showed the clips of the shocking eliminations because most of them would not even be able to be brought back. That was hilarious. Micheal Johns and Jennifer Hudson are really the only ones. The major shocks seem to come more around the end. I have a feeling they will end up not using it anyway because I think there isn't alot of depth here. It's pretty safe to say we will end up with Danny, Adam, Alexis, Alison, and Lil Rounds at the end and after that is anyone's guess. Unless they simply use the judge's save for the hell of it, I'm not even sure they will bother to use it. Maybe they will on Scott just to be nice but I think the five I mentioned will be there and the judge's save is only there to ensure those 5 stay in the mix until the end to make it a good final few weeks of the season, unlike the past few years where things dropped off midway through and didn't pick up until the finale. This year just isn't very deep and I think the judges know it but they covered their asses with the save option just in case.

I also agree that fans will either tire of Danny or Adam. I almost get the feeling both may go when it comes down to it. It will all depend on how the girls though and what kind of themes we have. If it comes down to power vocals, Danny could probably stay alive but I could also see Lil Rounds and Alison really belting their way to the finale if things play out well for them. I think one girl will be in that finale at least. I've felt that way since the top 36.

As for the judges, Simon is really the only one I still like on a consistent basis. He's usually right and he knows his shit. He usually can pick out the winner and he makes good, honest points. He's brutal at times but that is the way things work. Randy used to be good but now he's just all over the place with all the cliched, annoying sayings. Paula has surprised me a few times this year but most times she just repeats the same shit as everyone else with her own spin on it and the rest is incoherent. Kara is hit or miss but I like the dynamic she brings. She seems to know her stuff but I sometimes get the feeling Simon is the only true judge and the rest of them just go along with whatever the producers want to pimp. I've felt that way since last year when Randy practically said the same thing about Archie every week, even when he screwed up. I felt Randy quit judging and just became a producer's mouthpiece and that may have been why he and Simon were on opposite sides with Archie and Cook.

The double standards are ridiculous though. Kenny mentioned the "indulgent" stuff with Von. I think they've mentioned that with Anoop too (who I feel at times is indulgent) yet Adam gets away with it and so does Danny. I feel both of them are like that. It's all about the "chosen few." The show always pimped a few and had it's faves but it never used to be so blatant about it. Since season 6, it's been pathetic. Last year they threw both Micheal and Carly under the bus for their destined David vs David final and it backfired because the final few weeks leading to the finale sucked because the competition was left with no threat to both Davids at all. I think that is why this year they decided to make sure they have a good few weeks leading to the finale to help the buildup to it and it helps that they seem to want to pimp 5 people and not just two like last year.

A Guns and Roses theme is interesting. I have no idea how it would work out. It would depend who was left at that point. I was wondering what they would do for a rock-type week. They've done Queen before. I keep waiting for them to do a "Rolling Stones" theme or "Aerosmith" or something since they seem into relevant stuff this year.

I don't think the Dixie Chicks are members of the Grand Ole Opry though, are they? Opry memberships are only for solo acts, I believe. Remember, the theme isn't country... it's Opry. Surprisingly, there is a difference, LoL. Sin Wagon might've been approved for use in previous seasons for a different theme, but this isn't a "country in general" theme. It's Opry.

Oh, they'll use it. They wouldn't have made such a big deal out of the twist if they weren't intending to use it. Even if they have to use it on someone like Kris Allen, they'll use it -- anything for ratings and another "exciting" double elimination week, LoL. It's also apparent that the producers judges have already decided who they would like to use it on. I don't believe for two seconds that they actually sit there and decide in a span of 60 seconds whether or not to use it on someone while music blares through the entire room and they can barely hear each other, LoL. Look no further than Paula standing up and dancing like a crazy woman through the "deliberations" this past week for proof. Didn't look like much deliberation was going on to me.

They and the producers have already decided that they will only use the power on Danny, Adam or Lil. The closer it gets to Top 5, the more likely they are to use it on someone like Allison, Anoop or Matt just for the sake of using it. In the end, it won't change the outcome anyway, but it'll provide good television to see someone eliminated from the competition and then shocked when the judges save them. Stuff like that grabs attention and ratings and the producers are probably wetting their pants with excitement over it, LoL. After all, it's not really about who's best/worst and who deserves (or doesn't deserve) to be saved. It's about riveting television. Simon said it himself on Wild Card night. "We're casting a show."

As for your guess that Allison will make it to the Top 5, I'm not quite so convinced. DialIdol showed her very low the other night. I don't know if it's the haircut or what, but people aren't seeming too crazy about her anymore.

Well Adam should do well if they have GNR week. I always feel like he is imitating others and Axl is one of the rockers I see him channeling.

Late in getting my picks on here, but here they are.

(1) Adam Lambert---by far. He's the best by quite a bit. Best person in the competition this early in it. Kelly Clarkson nor David Cook, or Carrie Underwood, were this good this early. Awesome voice, Awesome stage presence, awesome look, nice looking, sexy, now
(2) Lil Rounds----imho, Adam & Lil are in a league of their own and should easily be the Final 2 unless one of starts doing worse or someone comes from behind.
(3) Alexis Grace-----great. I think "Dirty Diana" is suited more for a guy, but she did great.
(4) Danny Gokey-----Good as usual. I hate to say that he reminds me of Taylor Hicks just a little bit, but waaaayy more talented.
(5) Allison Iraheta ---- loving her more and more. Great talent for 16. Would make a great rock star or pop/rock like Pink.
(6) Kris Allen ---- Like him, reminds me of John Mayer, not Jason Mraz as Randy said.
(7) Matt Giraud --- Liking him more and more, does remind me of Justin Timberlake
(8) Jasmine Murray----I thought she did good. Still too-oldish for her age (17), but still ok----Should NOT have been voted off.
(8) Michael Sarver ---- didn't like him, but was shocked to like his "You Are Not Alone", I think he'd be better at country though. Opry week might be good for him next week.
(10) Scott MacIntyre ----pitiful song choice, boring, snoozefest, forget, one of my early faves that I'm now getting tired of. Step it up, or get voted off deservedly. I'm tired of the sad story of his blindness. He's blind, we get it! ENOUGH.
(11) Jorge Nunez-----I never would've put in him the Top 13. Don't care for him. Not sad to see him gone.
(12) Megan Joy Corkery ----Of all the Michael Jackson songs, Megan picks "Rockin' Robin"??!! WTF?!?! She deserved to be kicked off after this pitiful choice.
(13) Anoop Desai ---- Agreed with Simon, shouldn't had a Top 13, especially after Anoop's horrible karaoke version of "Beat It" and agree with Paula that noone should've attempted that song.

Why on Earth, did IDOL choose Grand Ole Opry Week as a category?!??!?! What in the living hell?!?!? Country week was bad enough! This Opry week would only be for songs by opry members, and I'm assuming former members. This rules out a lot of famous country singers past and present including the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, and many more.

I cannot disagree with you more Viki about your #1 pick. LOL. I would put him at ten!

Here are my order of favs right now:

1. Lil' Rounds - I just think she is the overall package. The voice, the look, CLASS.
2. Kris Allen - So talented!
3. Allison - Her voice is outstanding. I love her look too.
4. Matt Sarver - I think he is under rated. I don't think he has a chance of winning, but I hope he goes far.
5. Anoop - Love Annop! They were too hard on his performance this week.
6. Alexis - I hated her in semi's, but she was amazing this week. I still think she's trashy.
7. Matt Giroud - Didn't impress me with Coldplay in the semi's, but he was great this week!
8. Danny - Meh!
9. Scott - So talented and likable.
10. Adam - GROSS. SCREAMER. OVER RATED. KILL ME.
11. Megan - She's overrated by the judges - and her song choice BLOWS. Not to mention she's full of herself.
