I was shocked that Matt was in the bottom 2! Randy did mention that the performance order can have something to do with it. Sometimes I wonder if they don't just put someone in the bottom 2 or 3 that isn't really there just for drama and suspense. I really thought it would have been Megan, Scott, and Michael. I don't think Michael even cares that much that he left. He probably wants to go home to his family and he didn't have a chance at winning anyway. When Ryan asked Randy who shouldn't be in the bottom 3; Michael pointed to Matt. He knew he was going. |

I just want to mention how classy I thought Michael Sarver was tonight. I wasn't his biggest fan -- or a fan at all -- but I thought he handled the elimination and everything else with such grace. He kept a smile on his face the entire time and I thought it was very sweet. |

I love Sarver! He was such a nice guy. I will miss him. It really should have been Scott. |

Wow...what a WTF sort of week! Please tell me those morons were joking about potentially saving Micheal. I was so confused. I thought there was no chance, especially after last week when they refused to save one of their "chosen ones" in Alexis (and I still think they would've saved her if not for all the rumors about the show being fixed and already knowing who the top 4 was with Alexis being one of the four). I LOVED when Simon just took matters into his own hands and said no to Micheal. The guy knew it was coming. When he was standing up with Lil earlier in the night as Ryan was going through the results, he told her not to worry and that she was safe. When Randy was asked who didn't belong in the bottom three. Micheal pointed right at Matt. He had a smile on his face the whole night. He didn't seem unnerved or nervous. He was at peace with it and he gave one hell of a performance on his song tonight. Where was that last night? You could tell he just threw caution to the wind. He returned to being the Micheal I was a fan of tonight. He was classy in defeat and showed how nice of a guy he is. Good for him. It's been a struggle with him the past few weeks but he got a nice sendoff tonight. I will miss him but I can see why he went home. I just found it horrible how Paula and Kara danced and screwed around while Micheal sang and then were all flustered when Ryan asked for a decision. MORONS!! That is why I'm inclined to believe it wasn't an act. The girls just acted stupid and decided not to even bother with the fake conferencing so they danced around and came off looking horrible. I expect that from Paula but from Kara...no way. Randy and Simon seem to be ready and then Paula and Kara act all confused and act like they are seriously considering keeping him. Kara even said "but he was good tonight" and I just yelling out that they had no time to bullshit LOL. You could tell Ryan was getting antsy until Simon took control and handled it. What a mess! And how the FUCK does Matt end up in the bottom 3? I kept wondering if they did it to help him with votes. Just look at what happened with Alison the past few weeks. She's low on DI and then she ends up near the top. It makes me wonder if Idol is paying attention to DI and maybe not going with the real bottom three every week and just sticks someone down there to scare people into voting more. I mean, DI was wrong this week as the bottom 3 seemed pretty set. I was shocked Matt was there, if that was the case. Who knows. I just got my hopes up when Scott was there because I would've preferred he went. Hopefully, he goes next week. It's beyond time. And what a waste to walk him to the middle and then tell him to go back and sit on the couch. Why bother bringing him out to join Micheal and Matt? Dumb. I just can't believe Matt was bottom two. I do have to wonder if Randy was right in that performance order plays a big role. I've always felt it does, especially with many contestants. Usually, doing something great or choosing a uptempo song helps alot but it doesn't seem to be this year. We've already seen Matt and Alison nearly get knocked out going early in the show. I bet Idol will pay more attention to this and will be careful who goes early on and who doesn''t LOL. It also seems like you get hurt when you perform after one of the favorite contestants. Alexis followed either Adam or Danny last week, I believe, and ended up going home. I think it all comes down to people forgetting. If you follow one of the favorites in the competition or if you follow a great performance, people forget you. Same goes if you go early and you have alot of people following you. It's a shame and disturbing since you can do well and still be at risk. How cocky was Danny? His face while Ryan was reading off the judge's comments was awful. He is so full of himself and his little "thank you" to Simon for his comments was so condescending. Ugh. How cute were Alison and Megan while Stevie was singing? You can tell they've bonded and Megan nearly fell backwards while they were dancing LOL. Everyone looked like they had a good time. I saw Adam kind of moving back there too. I will say Adam is not egotistical at all. Danny is just beyond words. I may not be a big Adam fan but the guy doesn't act like a pompous ass at least. I loved Kris's reaction to Ryan playing games with him with the results LOL. Kris is showing more personality now, which is good. The Ford video was actually a little better this week (emphasis on the word "little") and I liked the brief clips of the Idols on the private jet. That was cool. They all looked so tired with all the yawning LOL. They couldn't even enjoy the plane like they should've. Obama really held them up and screwed with the schedule. I can't believe they taped the group performance. The lip synching has been obvious the past two weeks and Scott seems to really have trouble with it. He really made the lip synching apparent tonight. Speaking of Scott, have they run out of creative ideas already in regards to how to utilize Scott in the group performances? If that is the case, how the hell do they use this guy on the your? Why not just putting him with the piano? He really has to go. I mean, it ended up looking cool taped with all the graphics, certain singers using the microphone at times, and all but I prefer it live and wish they actually sang the song. I wonder if maybe this group's voices just don't blend well or something and they know this, which is why they are lip synching. They've never done this every week before like this. Weird. Nice seeing Ruben and congrats to him on being married. He looked like he lost weight but he still sweats alot. Ryan touched him a bit and seemed to get drenched. The Smokey Robinson and Joss Stone duet rocked. Stevie was great. Loved his "I love you" shoutouts to Obama and Idol. I have to wonder if maybe they didn't want Scott leaving the same week Stevie was on LOL . That is probably why they sent him back to the seats quick too. Stevie is a prime example of what hard work and perseverance can do. The man is brilliant and was great tonight. Wonder what happened to the Jennifer Hudson performance she supposedly taped yesterday. I mean, they had no room anyway but I wonder when we will get that. Good show though. I continue to be happy with the pace of the results shows. Bringing back a former Idol and then having another musical guest (usually the week's mentor) helps alot. Between those things and the results and having the person sing, the night flies by. Tonight was especially fast with having a third musical guest in Stevie. I loved the Motown medley and all the tributes to Motown. It was a great theme week overall. One of the best in recent years and I liked the focus on the history and significance of Motown, especially with it's 50th anniversary. Tonight really was a nice way to celebrate all that but it was also a weird night with the results stuff. Can't wait to see the theme for next week. Should be great to go back to the normal Tuesday/Wednesday routine. I also saw an ad that said David Cook's new video will debut next Wednesday on Idol. Wonder if that means maybe he will make his big return next week to the Idol stage too? Maybe it will be a rock week of some kind. Should be interesting. I also wonder when the Jennifer Hudson performance will be too because I read all over it was taped yesterday and this was a week suited for her return. It all made sense. I wonder what the deal is. Aww...that's so nice, Kenny. I know you didn't like him (nor did you like Alexis, which gave us plenty to disagree on LOL) but I'm glad you noted how well Micheal handled tonight. Tonight showed the reasons why I loved this guy and rooted for him up until the past two weeks. Tonight I saw the guy I came to like for the first time since Micheal Jackson week. He was genuine, smiling, and he just let go. No nerves. He gave a hell of a performance and got a great sendoff. He gave Matt and Lil credit. He knew he was bad. he just made the best of it and had fun, knowing his time was likely up. I could tell he was at peace and ready to go. I still think he's been ready to leave since last week. I just didn't feel the passion from him that he normally had in his performances last week or this week and, tonight, I felt it on his last performance. He was just happy for what he had accomplished and for being able to go on tour. Classy guy and he was great tonight. I'm pretty close to being done with Danny. I just can't stand him now. The guy is vocally great but the arrogance is off the charts. |

That was one of the biggest shockers I've seen in a long time -- having Matt in the bottom 2!! WTF??? I was certain that if he had been the goner they would have used the save on him, and started to wonder if he was planted there just for that reason, but then he was safe and it was Michael. I still cannot understand it. It should have been Michael, Megan, and Scott. I was fine with any of those three leaving, and Megan and Scott need to be the next two to leave. I wasn't crazy about Smokey and Joss performance, but Stevie rocked the house! I felt bad for Michael and Matt having to sit jjust the two of them on the other side of the stage while everyone else was dancing and having fun together on the other end. I agree about Michael being really classy in his defeat. I think he knew it was coming and was completely at peace with it. I really do not see what people are talking about with Danny. He smiles and seems carefree and that is interpretted as arrogant? Maybe I am missing something, but to me he seems confident, but also like whatever happens, happens. The guy never stops smiling no matter what, unlike some of the others up there. I think he is just happy to be there, not that he thinks he has it in the bag. If he ever snapped at the judges criticisms like I have seen other people do, then I would agree that he is arrogant, but he has never done that so I just don't get what people are talking about at all. Anyway, my favorites are still the same, Danny, Matt, Kris, Allison, Anoop, and Lil. |

In country week, you don't have to do country. The judges said that repeatedly on the performance show. They could take a country song and it make it their own, which Adam Lambert did very wonderfully, as did Kris, Matt & Allison. |

That's why themes are ridiculous and not needed. If the contestants can't bother stepping out of their comfort zone to sing a different genre, why bother? Edited by Rick, Mar 27 2009, 11:34 AM.

I guess to show their ability to really re-work a song and hear it with their own artistic "vision," LoL. |

Apparently it's been confirmed that next week's theme is iTunes Top 100. Should be interesting, but I wonder if they're only able to sing songs from the current iTunes Top 100 list? If so, we could get some interesting performances, LoL. I want somebody to sing Beyonce or Britney! Also, I think Megan's going home next week. Everyone expected her to be in the Bottom 3 last night and she wasn't. The two people who got less votes than her (Matt and Scott) will get votes like crazy next week. Scott will get major sympathy votes and Matt will get major "you'll never be in the Bottom 2 again!" votes. This leaves Megan near the bottom of the pack... probably getting the boot. |

Okay, seriously, America, what the fuck?! Matt in botton 2?! It was shock enough that he was in bottom three, but then Scott gets sent back and Matt is left in bottom TWO?! Seriously, America, I am disappointed... :p :D Anyways, other than that, Stevie was awesome... Joss and Smokey were weird. FFed Ruben. Sarver took his elimination good. I kinda had a feeling he was relieved. Next week, if Megan doesn't do something AMAZING, I believe she or Scott could be going home. Oh and if they are doing iTunes top 100, I wish they would do current top 100, like Kenny said. |

Matt being at the beginning of the show like that was a disadvantage. I wouldn't be surprised if people forgot Idol voting was on Wednesday night instead of Tuesday and only tuned in after he sang. What does Itunes top 100 mean? Is it the top 100 most popular downloads of current songs or any songs that are popular on Itunes regardless of age that are most downloaded? |

Rick that is why I love you!! I get that they supposed to rework the songs and make it their own, but make the song your own within the respect genre. There are plenty of songs out there that are little rock-and-roll that Adam could have sang. Was it good, Oh Yeah! But Daughtry did a similar "Ring of Fire" his season. |
