If David Cook wasn't pre-recorded I think they would have showed the judges at some point during or after his performance. When they showed them from the back (and in the dark) I didn't think it looked like it was even Simon sitting there and Paula looked like she have long sleeves on and she didn't have any sleeves tonight. |

OMG! I had no idea! My prayers are with him and his family. If that is the case, though, why was his mother there? I'm not doubting you but if his brother is not well, wouldn't his mother be with him? Your right. We did not see the contestants or the judges. We saw the judges from afar but never close up so I guess it was pre-recorded as reported. As for Megan, the judges were harsh for a reason. She asked for it. I liked her too but the last two days she's been unbearable and saying "I don't care" was just the dumbest thing one could do. If she don't care, they won't care...as Simon said. I do think they are a close knit group. That much was clear tonight. |

I could see Simon. All 4 were there but we never saw them up close. On one camera angle, I saw Simon but it was from far away. It didn't seem pre-recorded at first. I feel the same about the group performance. It did not seem lip-synched at all. The voices sounded live to me but maybe only certain people do it. Who knows. All I know is they better work on Scott because he's the one who always seems to make it obvious if they are doing it or not. People are pissed off about the lip-synching so they better stop. The group performance definitely wasn't pre-recorded this week though. |

I am pretty sure Cook's performance was pretaped. I wonder if maybe they did it right before or right after a live show. The audience just stay there for the performance. Then they decided to hold it off to go along with the premiere of his new video. |

It was reported that it was pre-taped after a live show, I believe. It was reported last week that Jennifer Hudson taped an appearance the same way so we should be seeing her's soon too. I just wonder why they are pre-taping so much and doing all the lip-synching and shit. I mean, whatever happened to the live aspect? It's getting annoying because it's taking away from the experience of a live show. |

Well, I guess my idol viewing for this season is now over, unless Alison makes the final 2, which will never happen. I was glad Megan told the judges she didn't care. She shouldn't have to kiss their asses like others do. Quirky people who do their own thing and have a unique style never get the judges praise. Like seriously, I am so over the fakeness of American Idol. Of course America's old ladies and teeny boppers who make up 75% of Idol's audience likes the boring cute boys. :puke: Almost everyone left are pretty much cookie cutter versions of everybody else. Adam and Alison are the only two that even have their own identity as an artist. |

Megan sucked and deserved to be kicked off. I first thougt she had lots of potential, but now I think she's a spoiled brat, with little to no talent. She sucks and should've went home the week the wonderful Alexis Grace did. I'm also glad Anoop was in the Bottom 2, he deserved it. I think Anoop, Scott & Allison will be the next 3 to go, but I really like Allison. |

I see what your saying. Megan should not have to kiss ass but what she did was stupid. No one is going to want someone who "doesn't care.' Her attitude last night and tonight, along with her weird bird dances (quirky is one thing, annoying is another), did her no favors. I wouldn't say they don't like quirky and unique. Simon, who was so harsh on her tonight, picked Megan as a wild card. Adam, who is very unique, is being pimped by the show. Taylor Hicks was quirky as hell and he won the thing. They've been pushing the people with more personality all year. It's all a matter of who they think will do well and Megan didn't have a shot in hell and that would go for any year she was on. She picked awful songs and was horrible and the attitude did not help at all. It wasn't until she broke down in tears and said goodbye to her baby that I actually gave a damn. I do agree that Adam and Alison are the only unique ones left that seem to have a solid identity but I think Kris and Matt do as well. I would say Danny too but he's too cocky and alienates people. This just happens to be a guy's year. I hope Alison somehow gets to the end but fans don't seem to be flocking to her for some reason. Maybe she will get some voting help now but I'm beginning to think there is just something about her not going over well, kind of like Carly last year. The show isn't helping her out much but they did give her the pimp slot last week. Not sure about the whole old ladies and teenyboppers thing. Adam is the only one I can see going over with teenyboppers. Alison I can see too because of her age but they don't seem to be helping her. I don't think old ladies would vote for any of the guys outside of Danny and Kris. The audience is more then those two factions and they clearly like who they like. The voting seems to be fluctuating for everyone but Lil, Danny, Adam, and, to a lesser extent, Kris. Everyone else is all over the place in voting. I agree about the fakeness angle but that stems from the show and, sadly, as tonight proved with Cook, even when they manipulate they get it right. They manipulated things last year and ended up with the right winner and they did the same thing the year before that. It sucks that they play favorites and all but they seem to get it right. |

I was SO GLAD to see Megan go home! She sucked. She just got worse every week instead of better. I really liked her during the auditions and for awhile into it all, but since they have been on the big stage, it just seems like she got such an attitude, and her vocals have been AWFUL!! I enjoyed most of the show last night, but wtf was that Lady Gaga performance? Oh, tiny tidbit I heard last night, turns out a girl that works with my mom is friends with Adam. Apparently he has given her tickets to the show and was supposed to have gotten tickets for my mom to see Wicked back when he was in it. Anyway, she was asking my mom what she thought of him, and my mom tried to be nice, and talked about how much she enjoyed the Tracks of My Tears performance. Adam's friend said that his over-the-top style is totally how he is all the time, he loves to wear a ton of make up and do the whole crazy rocker thing, but the judges have advised him to tone it down, so he is trying to restrain himself because of that. LOL. I was thinking, huh? Other than motown week, when has he toned it down? And if this is toning it down, holy crap, what would he be like if they let him loose? LOL. Anyway ... just thought I would share. |

Yeah, David Cook's performance was filmed Country Week, I believe. The EW.com blogger/writer wrote about it then. Very perceptive, Angie! The judges were not there for DC's performance. They have four stand in's for the judges for all pre-tapes. Here is the link that explains everything: http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/03/idol-top-11-res.html Megan was so obnoxious last night. Here is an excerpt from the above link: The on stage commiseration was cut short, however, by the stagehands carting out the results show benches and whisking in David Cook's band equipment. As they set up an eight-piece string section, what looked like eight amps for as many as four guitars, and your standard full drum set, Cory continued the time-killing technique that worked so uncommonly well on Tuesday while we waited for Carrie Underwood's pre-taped setup: Pulling volunteers from the audience to sing for the four stand-in judges. Tuesday, we were treated to the soaring gospel tones of Lil Rounds' big sister Tiffany. Last night, well, after a less-than-stirring "The Star Spangled Banner," a kinda unrecognizable interpretation of the Beatles' "Oh! Darling," and a semi-pro rock climber mumbling a Bloc Party song I couldn't quite make out, let's just hope Cory doesn't employ this tactic any time soon. (Which means, of course, he'll be doing it for the rest of eternity.) Finally, after a half-hour wait, Ryan came back out to introduce David Cook. Debbie joked that after Cook's performance, "We're going to do a group number, Cookie's favorite part of the shows!" And Cook delivered a solid, polished rendition of his new single "Come Back To Me." When he was finished, some fans screamed "We love you David!" as Cook was speaking with Ryan on-camera, and Cook didn't miss a beat, replying back, almost quizzically, "Not as much as I love you!?" Oh, wait, I almost forgot! Right before Ryan and Cook came out, two willowy blond girls were plucked from the Swaybot pit and brought backstage. Thankfully, we quickly learned after Cook's song that the girls were singled out only as pretty faces worthy of delivering a framed platinum record to Cook on the air. The reigning Idol reminisced about spending a year selling just 1,000 copies of the self-published record he made pre-Idol in 2006, and marveled that he could now move a million copies in just four months. Then, once the taping was over, Cook walked right up to his mom -- who had been moved, with his younger brother, to a seat in the front row -- and presented his framed platinum record to her. I mean, how could you not love this guy? Edited by King, Apr 2 2009, 11:44 AM.

I was happy to see Megan go. I thought she was so special (I still do), but not once did I like her live performance. Plus, some of her actions were just weird (like last night). I mean, it's one thing to be goofy, but lets not push it... And even though I want to tell the judges off, I would never really do it if I was a contestant. It just not really appropriate, IMO. I'm glad Kris was saved first. I could have watched the rest of the results in peace. :D |

I don't even know why Kris, Adam, and Danny even look worried at the results. If it is EVER them, which it isn't likely it will be, they'd be saved. |

Yeah I wasn't worried about Kris at all this week. I figured he'd be just fine. He was so great the other night. And so funny when Anoop did Kris thing and Kris got up to act like he was going to leave so funny. His really doing a great job.And his my favorite. |

I don't think the judges would save Kris if he was voted off. I mean, I wish they would, but I am almost certain they wouldn't do it.

I bet they would. It's getting to the point that I think they would probably use it anyone, just for the sake of using it and generating buzz. They only have a few more weeks to use it. |

Here's a new Q&A with Megan, following her elimination... What was with all the “caw- caw” stuff? “I love birds and bird noises and I just decided if I’m going out, I’m going out with a bang and I’m just gonna be myself. I flew the whole time!” It’s not that she didn’t care about the show…. “I cared about the competition, like, I didn’t want people to misunderstand me not caring, I just didn’t care that Simon didn’t like my song.” Was it easier to sing knowing there was no chance of being saved? “It was for sure easier cuz I didn’t care if I messed up, which I did. I was just stoked to flop around and be right in their faces and sing it, sing it right at ‘em.” Is she proud of her brother talking back to Kara? “I’m always proud of my brother. He’s my boy and he’s like me, he just can’t help but be himself and I wasn’t surprised at all that he did it. It cracked me up. I was glad that Kara ended up taking it lightheartedly, though (laughs).” Will she be getting a new tattoo? “I definitely am. I have a lucky ring that I’ve worn the entire time and I’m gonna have that tattooed on my ribs. What will she do when she sees her son (probably on Wednesday), “I’m gonna hold him for as long as he’ll let me and I’m gonna try not to sob like a lunatic cuz, I’m sure he’ll just be confused and scared. It’s gonna be beautiful, I cannot wait.” What does she want to do besides music (and making a guest appearance on Yo Gabba Gabba)? “I would love, like, I love cartoons. I like doing voices, I love Pixar. There’s a couple shows like I wanna make an appearance on. I’m down for whatever. Whatever life wants to introduce me to, I would love to dabble.” What was she planning to sing next week? “I was gonna sing “Separate Lives” by Phil Collins because it’s beautiful and I was ready to show the world that I could belt it like the rest of em.” |
