Mike, I'll watch that video when I get back home. I am at my parents, and they only have dial up internet, so I can't really watch YouTube... :P I would love it if Danny sang Unchained melody... :D |

Ex-'American Idol' finalist Jason Castro signs with Atlantic Records Atlantic Records confirmed that it has signed former seventh-season American Idol finalist Jason Castro and will release his debut album later this year. The dreadlocked 21-year-old first announced he had inked a deal with Atlantic Records during a recent interview with Billboard.com. "I've found a home at Atlantic Records," he told Billboard. "We're preparing to put an album together and hopefully get it out by summertime. That's the goal." Castro was the fourth-place finisher during Idol's seventh season last spring. His most memorable Idol performance was of the Leonard Cohen-penned "Hallelujah," which he subsequently re-recorded for inclusion on the Amar A Morir soundtrack. Castro is currently working on his debut album, which will include collaborations with new Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and Grammy Award-winning producer John Fields, and songwriters Martin Terefe, Sacha Skarbek, Guy Chambers, and Jason Reeves. |

^Wow...color me shocked. I thought for sure Castro would've been forgotten after nearly a year, especially with how his Idol run ended. I don't see him doing well. Not just because he's not that good but because it's been a year and all his female fans have probably already moved on. His only chance was to strike while the iron was hot and that was right after he got cut last year. As for this week's theme, I love it. They haven't done movie soundtracks in a long time. In fact, the last time they did it may have been the night Quentin was there. It's a good theme because it's both broad and restricted enough to keep the contestants from being all over the place with their choices. The past few weeks have been hard at times because I think they kept overthinking and didn't quite know where to go with their choices with the exception of a few and they also went more with stuff they actually liked moreso then stuff that suits them, which is wrong. I agree that Quentin was a good mentor when he was on the last time. Music is pivotal to his movies and he came off like he knew what he was talking about the last time so it should be good. He is very blunt and kind of a nutjob so we will surely be entertained and I'm sure he will tell someone they are wrong or doing poorly if that is what he thinks. One thing is for sure...the only reason he is coming back is because he is a mentor and not a guest judge. I still remember how Simon hated the guest judges, especially Quentin (which is what Quentin was the last time. |

Official song spoilers from MJsBigBlog: Allison - “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing" - Aerosmith Anoop - “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams Adam - “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf Matt - “To Really Love a Woman” by Bryan Adams Danny - “Endless Love” by Diana Ross Kris - “Falling Slowly” Lil - “The Rose” by Bette Midler --------------------------------- Lil Rounds kills me. She promised last week that if America keeps her around, she will stick to music that her voice is suited for. The same promise she's been making every week. Yet here she is this week singing... BETTE MIDLER? That's a far cry from Mary J. Blige! LoL. |

I can see it already....Anoop or Lil are definitely in the bottom 3. Will Lil ever pick the right song?! :frustration: After last week's great performance, Anoop goes with this song that is so off his range. :shame: |

I'm not expecting much from Allison tonight. I don't like that song choice for her. We know she can do the rocker vocals and I'm ready for something a little more subdued and simple. I also have a feeling that her take on Aerosmith is going to be a little scream-ish. Anoop is going to rock Bryan Adams. There was a rumor earlier today that he would be singing "I'll Make Love To You" by Boyz II Men, and he would've rocked that as well. Adam's song... blech. I hate that song and I'm sure I'll hate Adam singing it. Danny's song... ZZZ. Possibly the most boring song ever written, LoL. Again, I'm not expecting much. I've never heard of Falling Slowly, but I hope Kris does well. I'm skeptical about Lil's choice, but I hope she does well too. |

I'm being biased because I really wanted Danny to do that song. I think Danny would've done a better job with it. I had hoped Anoop would do "Tears In Heaven". |
