For me, Anoop and Adam were the best. The bottom three should be Chris, Lil, and Matt. |

I read that vote for the worst is supporting Lil. They Have Kris again this week as going home. I hope there wrong again this week. I love Matt usually but this week he was off key alot. Didn't like Lil either. Just seems like she thinks she's all that and she's not. Which is sad because I really liked her before the real competing started. |

I don't believe it. They didn't say she was in the Bottom 3, did they? I mean, I know they told her to take a seat with the two guys, but I think they do that for shock factor sometimes. If I recall correctly, Anoop and Scott were the only ones who were actually confirmed in the bottom. Also, wasn't Kris Allen really low on DI last week? Personally, I think they swapped Kris and Lil by having her take a seat on the other side of the stage even though she wasn't actually in the bottom. |

Oh, I do think they sometimes put people in the bottom three that are not really there. I just don't think Lil has been very good at all the last few weeks, and with the criticism she got from Simon I didn't expect her to be that high. |

The agenda of the producers was really clear tonight. All their favorites were critiqued by Paula and Simon. Allison Danny Adam Lil The ones who they couldn't care less about were reviewed by Kara and Randy: Kris Anoop Matt This show is so manipulated and wonky it's not even funny. |

They're pissing me off with all of this going over bullshit. My DVR cut it off AGAIN and I missed Lil's comments to Simon. I should have known to extend the recording by a few minutes, but still, they need to get it together. |

This Dial Idol chart is unbelievable. I hate that Lil Rounds is still so high while Kris Allen is dead last. Not funny, voters! It pains me to see Matt Giraud so low as well, despite the fact that his performance wasn't so good. I hope we get some sort of shocker with Lil Rounds going home but it's not looking too likely right now. Posted Image |

Dial Idol had Kris in the bottom last week too and he wasn't on the show. It doesn't count text votes though. |

The Dial Idol chart pretty much looks the same as it has for the last hour or so. Kris, Allison and Matt are still at the bottom. Looks like the pimp spot has saved Lil Rounds. That's unfortunate. I'm still LoL-ing at the show running overtime despite the fact that only two judges were allowed to give critiques. Does this show manage time terribly or what? |

If that is the case, then it pleases me that they have essentially swapped Alison for Lil among their "chosen ones" since she is by far the best female and one of the most talented singers in the competition. It is interesting though based on what you posted, assuming that is the mindset. They were high on Kris for awhile but the past two weeks have not been good for him so it makes you wonder where he is in the judge's minds. It's almost like the judge's darkhorse to win this started with Matt, shifted to Kris, and now Alison seems to be the darkhorse. It's about time they got around to praising Alison and giving her the respect she deserves since we all saw how they threw carly, Micheal, etc under the bus last year and killed the rest of the season in terms of competition depth. I just hope they pimp Alison up in the coming weeks to help her voting. It's clear that the Simon/Lil drama probably helped her, along with going last. I re-watched the performance and I will say that Lil did add some touches of soul and Gospel so she was actually right LOL. There was only one part where she did it but she did do it and in her meeting with Quentin he told her to focus more on singing the song as is rather then adding her own flavor to it so he basically told her to go against what the judges had been wanting for the past few weeks. Having said that, the song was still all wrong for her despite her decent vocal while singing it. I would feel the same if Alison sang that song because it's not her. Truthfully, I could see Danny singing "The Rose" LOL. Anyway, here is my weekly rantings with some additional thoughts added to my posted thoughts earlier (yes, I'm really that bored LOL): Alison: One of my favorite songs ever so, despite liking her, I was prepared to criticize harshly if she botched it but I loved it. Her performance skills were amazing tonight. That was the first time she worked the stage and interacted with the crowd like that. She has never appeared so confident and she put her unique spin on the song. Simon is right in that it's a tough song to sing but she did very well. She wasn't as good as Cook last year but it was still good and I think she was smart to take that song. People know the song and now add in her performance and she will be remembered tonight, which is good given it's the first performance of the night. Her vocals were good too. I didn't like the arrangement in spots but it's hard to cut the song down so sometimes the lyrics get jumbled in spots. I've noticed that no matter who sings it on this show but it ended up coming off well overall. Anoop: Pretty good. Nice song choice and I know he may be boxing himself into a corner by doing another ballad but it seems to be his recipe for success. When he goes uptempo, he comes off egoistical and his vocals are a mess. He had a little bit of a ego moment when he kind of stared off into the audience with that "I know I'm good" stare but I think that kind of went well with the performance. Nice vocal here though and he really brought out some emotion. I'm sure singing ballad while going second between a rock performance by Alison and a rock performance by Adam hurt him voting-wise but we'll see. He seems ok thus far. I think Simon didn't like it so much because he had a weird look on his face but he didn't get a chance to talk (which sucks) so... Adam: Wow...just wow. Good song choice and one thing that can be said each week is he is never boring. I can't believe I'm starting to like him but I am. They need to tone down the makeup and the dancing was awful in parts but, otherwise, very good. He's actually improved in that he doesn't come off like he's screeching. at least to me. I think it helps that he picks songs where really going high like he does fits in with the song and it's flow but each week over the past 3-4 weeks he has steadily gained favor with me and he was entertaining tonight. I do agree with Simon in that some will hate what he did to the song and that may be why he ended up third on DialIdol, at least thus far, but at least he's original and takes risks. As I said earlier, I would love for him to sing someone from Queen when they do a Rock week. Matt: Wasn't bad. I actually thought he made a good song choice but, as Randy said, it all fell apart around the bridge. The whole song kind of fell apart and the performance lost steam near the end, which is sad because he was doing well up until then. How funny that Randy and Kara get on Matt for doing too much with the song and changing the melody when they, Paula, and Simon bitched two weeks ago about him making the song his own when he came close to ripping off The Fray. More double standards LOL. Danny: First off, he looks great without the glasses...almost like a different person. Second, that little interview segment with Ryan was so awful. Man, was Danny full of himself? He looked pissed when Ryan interrupted him as he was answering. Even Danny's body language in the meeting with Quentin and when he's met with other mentors this season is horrible. He seems in his own little self-absorbed bubble and doesn't seem to take in anything the judges. mentors, etc say. He was ok tonight. Cheesy as we all expected and the song choice was right up his alley. I was so happy Simon made the point about how Danny didn't do anything else with the song and that he brought up what David Cook did last year. Say what you want about the others but they've all gone outside their comfort zones and have taken risks. Danny hasn't. He's always content staying with the same old melody and does very little that is mind blowing or different. Glad Simon brought it up and that Paula pointed out the beginning of the song, which was lacking. He picked it up around the middle and end because when he goes high he's amazing, as always, but his lower register sucks IMO. He's just ordinary and that isn't good enough to win this or it shouldn't be. Kris: He was great. Beautiful song and beautiful vocal. Good choice by him. I think he could've done well with his guitar too but, as Quentin said, he could do no wrong either way. I also wish at the chorus the female background singer had been left off and that Kris simply sang it himself. He has the voice and I just would've rather have heard him on that part of the song but oh well. Still good. I agree with Kara it was a risk taking on an obscure song like that but he made it work. I'm glad Ryan cut Kara off. All she needed to say was what she said and it said it all. If she and Paula could grasp that, the show would not have to turn to such methods as only letting two judges comment. Lil: In fairness to her, Simon asked for it because he wanted to know what she was telling Ryan. I think she looked upset and Ryan asked if she was ok and she just started venting to Ryan. I remember someone saying that Ryan will comfort them or give them kind wishes after the performance and sometimes the person will vent to him when the judges get hard on them. Having said that, both her and Danny have had egos for weeks and Danny just doesn't seem to care what they say but Lil does. She got mouthy earlier this season and then shut her mouth until tonight. The song is beautiful and she sang it well so I agree it was easily her best vocal performance but it was not her. That song does not suit her and it all comes off wrong. She just can't seem to grasp what the judges are trying to tell her. Either that or she just doesn't care and acts like she does, which would explain why week after week she promises change and ends up doing the same thing or worse week after week (kind of like Megan this year). As I said above, she did add some of her own spin to it but it was in one brief part and wasn't nearly enough. I wish Quentin had not told her to stay true to the song as is for most of it. I think she could've gotten away with making it more Gospel.soulful and maybe would've struck a chord with the judges finally but that is assuming she would've listened to Quentin if he did tell her that and she and Danny seem to tune out mentors, judges, etc. Alot of slow songs tonight. After the past few weeks where it was tough at times due to the themes and all, I think they all are just trying to impress so they pick mostly safe songs or songs that have an easy melody. The only ones who really weren't safe were Alison and Adam, which is no surprise since they seem to thrive on being unique and taking risks in an effort to bring down the house. This was actually been a pretty good night IMO. Best night of the top 12. especially in terms of song choice and vocals. Maybe it helps that I know alot of the songs though LOL. No one was really all out awful though I also like the band on the stage. The sound tonight with the performances is pretty good. Maybe the show would not need to be rushed if they hadn't wasted 8 minutes at the start of the show on judge's and Ryan banter and the Quentin Tarantino intro piece. DUH!! So sick of Randy saying "For me, for you." Ugh. The judging was stupid. I'm glad Simon mentioned that the girls were the problem (the audience was too but really nothing that can be done there) and I'm not shocked because he's been commenting on the time issue all week and how the girls ramble on. Paula and Kara's reactions were pretty funny though. Anyway, why didn't they just tell them all to keep their comments short and to the point? I wish they would keep it simple and stop fiddling around. I hate what they did tonight because we missed getting everyone's comments and I also hate how they have randomized the order the judge's make their comments. They've been doing this since the last time Simon bitched about time. The order is Randy, Kara, Paula, and Simon. Keep it that way and tell them all to be quick and to the point. That's all. If they also want to save time, they can save all the Coca Cola sponsored interviews and judges/Ryan banter until results show night where it belongs. Same goes for the Quentin Tarantino background video. I can understand why they aired it tonight but you can do that and have all the needless filler. If you are going to air it tonight, you cut the filler down. If you can't do that, then air the Tarantino video tomorrow. Doing all this easily saves about 5 minutes. I can't complain about the intro pieces before each contestant sang because they were quite short tonight. Tarantino did a very good job tonight though. Just as good a job as when he was a guest judge in season 3. He actually gave the contestants advice on their performances and helped them get better and they all actually seemed to listen. So far, he and Andrew Lloyd Webber are the only ones who seemed the most active and influential. Quentin really did great and he was very helpful. Can't wait for the results tomorrow. My bottom 3 would be Matt, Anoop, and Lil but no one was awful so it's hard to say one should go this week. Based on DialIdol, I suspect Matt is a goner because, based on what happened last week, it seems Kris has a heavy text voting fanbase so I expect Anoop and Matt to be bottom 2 with Matt going. I think Alison gets help from texting too based on what we've seen so far. It will be interesting to see if they pull out the save tomorrow or hold it until last week, the last week they can use it, just in case they need it for Danny or Adam or one of the other "chosen ones." |

It's really sad. It's simple. Save all the filler for the results nights and tell the judges to be quick and to the point. Hell, give them a time limit or something. It's not rocket science and it's never been this bad. Sure, they've had incidents but this season has been the worst in regards to time. |

I just re-watched Lil's performance and I liked it even less the second time around. She really hit alot of bum notes and the "gospel" part sounded forced. She should've sang this version instead! At least our misery would've been more short-lived, LoL. |

It's a shame that the show can't even hide it's manipulative tactics anymore LOL. I mean, in the early seasons, they had them but they weren't so blatantly obvious. Since season 6, it's become so easy to point out their agenda pushing and it's just sad. The only thing I hope is that they can really push Alison and get her enough support to get to the finale but I won't hold my breath. i just wish the save would be used so that we can get Danny taken out by a shock elimination. Then, I would be ok with anyone who wins, except Lil. |

I think at this point I think it is Adam's to lose. But I would never buy his music is voice is too shrill for my taste and he is too theatrical - just weird - but I think he will win. I think however he will be popular in the short run and will fade quickly like Taylor Hicks. But I think he'll have a career in musical theatre if nothing else. I would buy music from Kris, Danny and perhaps Matt and maybe Allison if she put out stuff like Kelly Clarkson. |

I liked Allison's performance, but I am sick of that song, I wish she would have done something else. I loved Anoop's performance! Love the song, and I think he sang it beautifully. I still love Matt, and I enjoyed his performance of another of my favorite songs (LOVE Bryan Adams!), but it was a little rough in spots. Frickin' Adam. Ugh! I really cannot stand him when he screams like that. That's not even singing. The guy can sing when he actually sings, but what he did last night didn't even resemble singing. I swear, if Paula calls him a genius or refers to his "greatness" one more freaking time, I am going to reach through the tv and strangle her with her own big jewelry. Unfortunately, for me because I am a fan, I missed Danny's performance due to flipping back and forth to TBL, but the recap looked like he did a nice job vocally, but could have been more interesting. I missed Kris's performance too, but caught the last few notes, and I thought he sounded good, from what I heard. Lil. *sigh* I think it is time for her to go home. Did I mention everyone? I think I did. Anyway, I thought it was kind of weird only having 2 judges at a time commenting, but it also showed how much we don't need a 4th judge, and they really need to get rid of Kara next season. I think if anyone other than Lil is the bottom person tonight, they will use the save. |
