I liked Kris. I see nothing wrong with changing up the style of the song. He is going to be remembered especially if everyone else goes straight disco. I think if you can take a song that is know in one style, make it fit for you and still sell it then there is nothing wrong with that. I do think it is the one thing that is working for Adam as well.

Like seriously, they should just stop with theme nights and just let them sing any song they want with any arragnement they want. The whole point of a "theme" is to sing in that style!
I agree in a way but in a way I don't.

Some of them can't sing it as is and survive so to stay in the competition, they fit the song to their needs. I know they used to follow closely to the themes in the earlier seasons but that usually made for an awful night LOL and it ended up costing some people. They should just call it the Disco songbook night, not an actual Disco theme night. I guess that is what they are going with but it's easy to misconstrue it.

I was worried about Kris when I heard the song choice but he did great. That was original, risky, and it showed who he was as an artist. Good for him. He made a song I despise something I would actually listen to LOL.

LOL. Everyone loves Adam for NOT SINGING COUNTRY and now Kris is bashed for making up his own arrangement? Please!

He was fantastic. Period.

Lil, on the other hand ... OY

But man, 22 minutes in and we've only had two performers. Ugh.

And seriously, who cares if he made his own arrangement? Obviously those in charge at the show don't mind. It's taking those SONGS from that era, or time period, who says it has to even sound like disco. It's just song choices. Period.

I doubt it.

He's dressed in a shirt and tie and looks like he is going to slow things down a bit this week so I don't see him doing something straight up Disco either. I don't think it would truly be him if he did.

Ouch. This song does not suit Danny in the LEAST. But I bet the judges just adore it.

Well its not Celebration but Danny is reminding me sooooooo much of Taylor Hicks. If I closed my eyes I couldn't tell which one of them was up there.

Nope. It's about song choice. When was it EVER stated they HAD to sing in THAT style?

So is it me or does it even seem like his performance he is just phoning it in. Like he knows how "great" he is.

God he's so overrated. UGH. I can't stand him. He's DEFINITELY Taylor Hicks 2.0 and I don't think that's good.

That's my point

They should just call it 70's night if everyone is going to change up the the arragement and not sing Disco.

Well THAT one I agree with. I do see your point Rick. If they say Disco, yeah, we kinda expect Disco, not Santana or Jason Mraz. So, yeah, I see your point, LoL!
