Same here, Since he performed that Johnny Cash song and was awful with it, I've began to like him more and more. He was great this week. I knew he was going to slow things down the way he was dressed. As Simon said, he was original and the way he changes it up is great because he has you looking forward to what he does every week. He's always memorable and that is what makes him great. I'm fine with him going to the finale now. Just keep Danny the hell away from it. In fact, since we know Anoop is going last, providing Matt and him don't butcher their songs, I can see Danny MAYBE being in trouble. If Anoop is good, his going last could help. Matt's fans should be out in full force. Adam is safe. I'm thinking Alison will be ok so really Danny could be in trouble if things play right. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Apr 22 2009, 01:44 AM.

I liked some of Adam's parts, but they really think his shrieking is good? Really? I just don't get it. Not bad, but I wasn't falling all over it like they were. They act like he's the second coming, and, um, he's just not. LoL! |

I really think and hope Danny could be in trouble in the coming weeks. Allison and Kris just need to keep nailing their performances. Matt's not doing bad it's going a little too fast. A little too frentic. |

I don't think Matt will make it past this week as much as I like him. |

I would love for Phoenix to be right to see Danny in trouble, especially now that the save is gone. At least with Matt compared to Danny he put something into his performance. He had fun with it and put some energy into it. |

That was an appropriate song choice for Matt coming off of last week LOL. It wasn't his best. The vocals were ok. Like others said, it was a little too frantic and fast but I did like seeing him move around and have fun. However, I do think that will pull him through. He got a big crowd reaction and we all know his fanbase will be awakened after what happened last week. Plus, everytime he gets bad or subpar comments from the judges, he does better with the voting so that plays well for him LOL. One thing that bothers me tonight is Paula making future predictions again. She should not have told Matt he is staying because that could work against his fanbase coming to his defense. It's like a jinx. Plus, her again saying Danny and Adam would be in the finals is stupid. It gives people that like the others the message that they shouldn't even bother voting or watching. Simon kind of cringed when she said that to both of them again and I don't blame him. |

I'm kinda liking Anoop's performance. He's definitely showing off his vocals and range, but it's not the best performance. It was kinda, overall, "meh". |

I don't agree with Simon that it was his worse performance. I could agree that it was mediocre. Certainly not the best. |

Anoop was good. I didn't love it, but I can't believe that Simon said it was his worst. He has had some really bad performances and this was no where near the worst. |

I don't think he thought it was either. I mean, let's remember his first two weeks once we reached the top 13. He was awful. I think that was Simon's way of pumping up his votes. It was another example of "Simon Cowell reverse psychology" IMO. I think he really wants Lil out LOL. Anoop's vocals were good. The arrangement did suck and he didn't really move with the music. When it got a bit more uptempo, he didn't really pick up the speed in his movement. Very odd. The worst IMO tonight were Danny and Lil. They should be the ones to go. I think it will probably end up being Lil and Anoop or Matt, although I think Matt's fans will come out in full support and going last could really help Anoop. Tonight's episode was quite enjoyable. I love that they didn't waste time with silly banter or a stupid montage explaining disco to all of us like we're idiots. They also cut out the clips of the performers explaining why they chose their songs and practicing by the piano. Also, was it just me or did they speed up the opening as well as the outro music? LoL. It definitely sounded faster than usual. Anyway, here goes... LIL - One of her better performances of the season, but still nothing special. I can think of at least ten girls from previous seasons who could've performed that same song much better. She was off pitch in spots and shouty in others. KRIS - I enjoyed the arrangement, very unique. However, the vocals were pretty forgettable. It was nice, no real flubs, but kind of forgettable. ALLISON - Oh my God, no. I hated the arrangement and she sounded out of breath from beginning to end. Definitely her worst performance of the season. DANNY - He gets cheesier every week and he's definitely channeling Taylor Hicks. I'm sick of the way he shouts and growls the lyrics, LoL. That's the only way he knows how to sing, and when he tries to use a lower register, he sounds awful. ADAM - Surprisingly, I liked him the best tonight. He's really good when he tones it down and just sings, which is what he did tonight... for the most part. However, Paula getting all choked up was a little ridiculous, LoL. It was good, but not THAT good. MATT G. - So so. Very middle of the road for him. The vocals were good, the arrangement wasn't terrible. Overall though, it was kind of forgettable. He should be thankful they put him near the end of hour. ANOOP - I feel the same way about his performance as I did about Matt's. Alright... so-so... not bad, but nothing great. His final bum note was unfortunate and you could immediately tell he was disappointed. It was written all over his face. The best part of the night was Lil's mother cursing all the judges as they ripped her daughter to shreds, LoL! At one point, I thought she was going to get up out of her seat and beat them all with her shoe. As for tomorrow... I think Allison and Lil are going home. Maybe Anoop, but I doubt it. Lil is going regardless. |

Not that Dial Idol means much anymore, but they're showing pretty much everyone in a dead heat. Even Adam, who's in first place, isn't that much higher than Allison, who's in last place. Pretty crazy. Looks like tomorrow's going to be a total crapshoot. Posted Image |

^I expected that from DialIdol. The system has been a mess the past few weeks. They changed the system and now it's all over the place. I think the two going home will be two out of a group of Matt, Anoop, and Lil because they've been in the bottom 3 the most. Their fans have never really mobilized enough to keep them out of danger and I know Alison has been in the bottom 3 before but not at al recently and she's never ended up in the bottom two like Lil, Matt, and Anoop. That gives her an advantage. |

What did they do to change it? Did they stop measuring the busy signal and do it another way? |

Not sure. All I know is they did something they felt would make it even more accurate and I know people in their forums are angry and down on the new system. They felt they were showing too many people in yellow. They felt this new system would make better determinations as to who was in the bottom 3 and who was going home. In other words, they wanted to show an actual person in red each week (as in definitely going home) instead of everyone in yellow and it not being clear who would go. Sadly, that is what they've ended up with. Their accuracy has taken a major hit since we got to the top 13, especially the last 3 weeks. Just take a look at the busy percentage numbers which have had Kris and Alison fluctuating between last and second from last for pretty much the past 2-3 weeks yet neither one was in the bottom 3 the past 2-3 weeks. This is what has led to them constantly putting Kris and Alison at the bottom of the overall DialIdol rankings every week. It's clear the system is a mess. This is why when Kenny kept mentioning how Alison did not seem to be catching on, I kept disagreeing because DialIdol is so out of whack we have no way of knowing how strong her fanbase is. I mean, I go to several sites and forums and she seems to be as well-liked as Danny and Adam. Oh, and the people at DialIdol just posted this on the site. They hardly ever post info on predictions this soon but it appears they are aware of the system being a mess and it seems this week it's even more so. Here is what was posted: Wednesday April 22, 2009 It looks like there is some weird stuff going on with Lil Rounds prediction this week. I did some analysis during the first hour of voting and found three of 24 people dialing for her with busy percents way out of whack. Two of those three were calling from the same area code. I filtered those dialers out at about 10pm but the "damage" was done. In a way I believe this has more to do with a disproportionate number of callers for her compared to the rest of the contestants. She only got 40% of the calls that the next highest total. This makes her data very unreliable and probably over-inflated. If there are going to be any surprises they will probably come from her. I believe she is ranked higher on the chart than she the data suggests she should be. http://www.dialidol.com/asp/news/news.asp Based on that, I would say Lil is likely going home. Busy percentages on DialIdol placed her second last week (which placed her second in DialIdol's overall rankings) yet she ended up second from last and was nearly eliminated. I think she is gone for sure and I have a feeling Alison and Kris are not in any danger at all. I think Matt and Anoop are because we know they don't have as much support based on them constantly being in the bottom 3 so I would say Lil and either Matt or Anoop is a goner tomorrow night. Regardless, DialIdol has major issues. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Apr 21 2009, 09:40 PM.

Just want to touch on this subject before making my commentary for the show tonight. I don't think it was ever set in stone when they wanted to use it. I'm sure they had an idea it was going to be around top 6 or 7 but I think they wanted to be sure their favorites were safe first. I think they feel secure in that now so they felt better about using it on someone like Matt. That and I think they also wanted to wait until some felt the show was getting stale to bring it out to keep the excitement going and maintain interest. I just hope Alison or Kris does not end up being eliminated because then I would be upset because saving Matt would not be worth losing Kris or Alison and I do like Matt. I do think Alison has replaced Lil in regards to favor with the judge's and I think she has a chance to be the Katherine McPhee of this year and prevent an all guy finale, if she gets through this week at least. I still think this is Anoop and Lil's week to go. I can't see Anoop doing well with Disco at all (then again, I think Disco week will suck as usual in general) and him and Lil have been in the bottom 3 numerous times, especially lately. I think Matt's fans will be out in droves this week. I will admit Tatiana would make things interesting but this is American Idol, not Big Brother. It's a singing competition. The show itself has veered off course enough at times. It didn't need to veer further off course. Her drama would overshadow the whole competition and, because she actually has a voice, she would definitely go far at the expense of more talented individuals and I think it would be a disaster. As for Paula, I thought for sure early on this season that this year would be it but I don't think so anymore. I had felt tension between her and Kara but not so much anymore. I mean, last week they were dancing and swaying together. All the judges seemed close last week and even this week Kara and Paula were joking with each other. As Angie said, there are rumors every year and I tend to think it's nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if Idol puts it all out there themselves to stir the pot or if they have the judges act a certain way just to keep things interesting. I don't think Paula is that much of a dimwit. This year, they have her making good points and adding good commentary at times so I tend to think they are finally letting her be herself and not some sort of character. I thought before she was just raising her game because she felt threatened by Kara's presence but I don't sense that anymore. I wish they would do that with all the judges because sometimes I think they have them all sort of play a character instead of just being themselves and judging. Simon is the only one I don't think ends up like that. In regards to Kara, I want them to keep her because I think she is improving. I don't know if anyone has seen her spots on Access Hollywood where she works with booted contestants like Megan and Scott. They are on Youtube but, anyway, she tells them what they need to do to improve and helps guide them in the right direction. She is really good at that and I do think she gets more caught up in advising then she does judging and that is why she goes on and on at times. As much as I like having different mentors each week, maybe one thing they could try is having Kara be the permanent Idol mentor and have her work with the contestants each week on song choice, performance, etc. That could really help. She could still judge but it makes her more active and then maybe she can get some of her advising out of her system. I just think she works well doing that and it may help the contestants immensely. On the subject of the shocking eliminations, I think they like it providing they have fall back options. In seasons 4 and 7, they did. They lost Constantine in season 4 and Micheal Johns in season 7 but they had Bo, Vonzell, and Carrie in season 4 and had the two Davids and Carly in season 7. It was after Carly left in season 7 that things fell apart because she was really the only one talented enough to bust up the David vs David finale. I think they want to be sure to have competition depth left and want to be sure they still have viable options left for the win. If that is not the case, then I think they hate surprise eliminations. This year, I think they felt good about things which is why losing Alexis was not something they felt crippled them and I'm sure if they lost Danny they would not be devastated because they still have Kris and Alison. Let's say by some miracle they lose Alison, Kris, and Danny...well, then they would be in trouble. That won't happen though. They do have good depth this year since they managed to avoid some surprise eliminations in the past few weeks. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Apr 22 2009, 01:32 AM.
