First off, I loved this format tonight. No filler. They just went right into the performances. No intro pieces, which I like but when your pressed for time they are not needed and they can be useless at times too. They really wouldn't have served much purpose this week anyway since there wouldn't be much to talk about concerning the songs. They didn't waste time on the judge's banter either, which should always be reserved for results nights anyway. The show is moving fast. Good job, Idol. They still did the stupid Coca Cola interviews, which really should be reserved for results show nights too. If they hadn't wasted time on those, they may not have gone the minute overtime but one minute is much better then what they have been doing so major improvement there.

Glad they returned to all 4 judges talking. That was a disaster last week. Everyone seemed to hate what happened last week. I mean, some people watch just to hear Simon talk about everyone LOL. I just wish they would stop jumping around and just go down the line in the same order instead of having Randy start for one person, Kara start for another, and so on. Just go Randy, Kara, Paula, and Simon. Stick with the same order, just like they always used to. I did get a kick out of when Ryan took a sip out of Kara's glass and she asked for a new one right after. It came off like she thought he had cooties or something LOL.

Ok...now on to the performances:

Lil: She is so gone. Normally, I would say that fans will rebel and that her fans will mobilize to her cause because of Simon saying she is a goner but her fans have had reason to mobilize for weeks now and she still ends up in the bottom 3. Her time is up. Plus, she went first tonight and you can tell she knows she is done. The judges don't side with her anymore and she knows she doesn't have enough to pull through. It was a complete copycat performance, which is a recurring problem with her. Good song choice but she did nothing with it. Props to her for her recovery from being on vocal rest and all but she did not do well tonight. Unlike in past weeks, her vocals weren't even good in spots. Plus, she did more talking back and tried to spew more of her garbage about how she will do this and do that if she comes back. We've heard it all before over and over and she has done nothing. It was funny seeing her family, especially her mother, who was chomping at the bit to get to the judges LOL.

Kris: I was worried about him when I heard the song choice but he did great. That was original, risky, and it showed who he was as an artist. Good for him. He made a song I despise something I would actually listen to LOL. Some contestants can't compromise and have to fit the song to them and Kris was one of those that had to do that. I would've never expected him to pick the song he did or to do what he did with it. I just hate that he and Alison always seem to get shitty spots on the performance order LOL (going second AGAIN?!) but whatever. Also, that whole thing with the ladies underwear and shopping in the women's department was funny at first but it turned into stupidity and came off a bit insulting when Paula's comments were misconstrued. She was talking about Simon when she said that "he" shopped in the women's department and somehow it was made out to be that she was talking about Kris and poor Kris could just shake his head. I think Simon tried to joke around by deflecting what Paula said off him and was trying to imply that what Paula had said was about Kris when it wasn't. it just ended up being a mess and came off horrible after being somewhat funny to start. I felt bad for Kris because he just stood there and had to watch and listen to all that LOL.

Alison: Amazing. I did not like the arrangement all that much, something I agree with the judges with. I think the song was slowed down a bit too much but she did good with it. Her vocals were there and were great. She added her own unique flair. She is another one that can't and shouldn't compromise. She has to suit the song to her on weeks like this, much like Kris did. This was also the best she ever looked. God, I adore her! I hope she does not go home tomorrow. She should be top 3 AT LEAST!

Danny: Rhi certainly called it. Taylor Hicks all over again. The dancing, subpar vocals. He does have talent and a better voice then Taylor but everything else...similar. I do have to say this was his worst song choice. It was so not him, although it was refreshing that he didn't pick some sort of sappy, message/inspirational song. Only problem is he went back to over the top shittiness, much like his performance during Micheal Jackson week. I also felt like he didn't even put effort out there tonight. I almost got the sense he felt he could just get by without putting himself all out there. It seemed complacent. I think he tried with the awful dancing but that isn't saying much. Kara made a good point too. That could be a forgettable performance and the fact that he went between Kris and Alison could hurt him because they had unique, attention grabbing performances and it's usually those that go between two people who do well and who get alot of attention that end up in danger on the night. Danny could be in trouble if things play right with Anoop going last, Matt's fans likely out in better numbers, etc. We'll see. I hope he goes because he and Lil were the worst by far! I also can't stand his smugness. Ugh.

Adam: Since he performed that Johnny Cash song and was awful with it, I've began to like him more and more. He was great this week. I knew he was going to slow things down the way he was dressed. As Simon said, he was original and the way he changes it up is great because he has you looking forward to what he does every week. He's always memorable and that is what makes him great. I'm fine with him going to the finale now. Just keep Danny the hell away from it. I always prefer his more subdued performance. He had a better performance like this a few weeks ago but this was still good and I appreciate his humbleness and like how he always credits people like the band and others who may have helped him with his performance or the arrangement. That is classy and he looked good tonight. Kara was right. He looked like Clark Kent a bit LOL.

Matt: That was an appropriate song choice for Matt coming off of last week LOL. It probably wasn't the best song choice though, although I can see why he chose it. It's a proven crowd pleaser. It wasn't his best though. The vocals were ok. Like others said, it was a little too frantic and fast but I did like seeing him move around and have fun. However, I do think that will pull him through. He got a big crowd reaction and we all know his fanbase will be awakened in some form after what happened last week. Plus, everytime he gets bad or subpar comments from the judges, he does better with the voting so that plays well for him LOL.

Anoop: Ok choice of song. Vocals were good. The arrangement did suck and he didn't really move with the music. When it got a bit more uptempo, he didn't really pick up the speed in his movement. Very odd. He has found his niche though. He doesn't necessarily have to sing ballads but he needs to sing pop songs that allow him to project well and to add his soul flair to the song. I did not like his look though. I disagree with Paula. The facial hair looks odd. The pink looks horrible on him. I'm not against guys wearing pink but the whole outfit did not match up well. Whoever dresses and styles Anoop has been awful for him. His outfit hardly ever matches up completely as a whole and his hair was a mess tonight too. He was just a mess look-wise tonight but it's not about looks. It's about the singing and he was not that bad. I don't think Simon thought it was his worse either. I mean, let's remember his first two weeks once we reached the top 13. He was awful. I think that was Simon's way of pumping up his votes. It was another example of "Simon Cowell reverse psychology" IMO. I think he really wants Lil out LOL so he was trying to ensure it.

One thing that bothered me tonight was Paula making future predictions again. She should not have told Matt he is staying because that could work against his fanbase coming to his defense. It's like a jinx. Plus, her again saying Danny and Adam would be in the finals is stupid. It gives people that like the others the message that they shouldn't even bother voting or watching. Simon kind of cringed when she said that to both of them again and I don't blame him. I'm sure the producers did as well. The bias is blatantly obvious already. Don't make it even moreso. I also had to laugh at how Danny did not get called out on how his performance was basically a copycat too. His performance of the song sounded similar to the original yet he didn't get bashed for it. Simon was the only one that got on him a little bit. Meanwhile, Lil got slaughtered by being a copycat. More double standards. Ugh.

The worst IMO tonight were Danny and Lil. They should be the ones to go. I think it will probably end up being Lil and Anoop or Matt, although I think Matt's fans will come out in full support and going last could really help Anoop. As a whole, the it was not a bad night. The show did well and did not go overtime pretty much. It moved much faster because of less filler. The judges moved a bit quicker. The fact that so many contestants made the songs suit them helped alot because if everyone did straight up disco like Danny (who was awful) and some others did, I think the night would've been alot worse like it has been in years past. Thankfully, it wasn't and I'm glad in recent years that they have not pushed too hard on making sure the contestants keep true to the style of the music because Disco is so hard and I think the show is better off as we get more originality and more relevancy. Just as long as they all stick to songs from the Disco period, I think it's fine because it's more of a challenge having them all find songs from the era and having them make them their own. Definitely the best Disco night ever by far because of the way the night went.

My predictions for elimination are Lil and Anoop/Matt (if fans don't come out like they should for him but I really wish Lil and Danny would go. Check out my new slogan..."Come on! GET RID OF ALL THE SMUG!! SEND LIL AND DANNY HOME!!"

The only person I really liked last night was Kris! Everyone else was just ok for me. The weakest was Lil and Matt and I think they will be the ones going home. Anoop being in the bottom three. I think Our finally four will be Adam, Danny, Kris and Allison.

VoteNumber1, which some describe as a more reliable version of Dial Idol, is reporting that Lil Rounds and Danny Gokey will be going home tonight.

If Danny Gokey actually gets the boot, my jaw will be ON THE FLOOR! I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of his or anything. But he's a favorite of the judges and everyone kind of assumed he would make it to the end with Adam. If he actually gets the boot... wow. I hope it happens! LoL.

Boy Kenny I hope that is true with Lil and Danny going. I felt like he phoned in that whole performance like he knows he will be safe. Would love for just the smack if he ends up in the final 3. He needs an ego adjustment.

So I am going to eat my words from earlier this season, but Adam is like David Cook. In the beginning of the season they were saying he was the rocker like David Cook was. I still disagree with that comment because I don't really think he is a rocker. Adam is like David is that he can take a song we know one way and make it completely different and sell it. It started for me with Motown week. The guy can sing and when he just sings instead of using the screeching (trying to be Axl Rose back in the day) he is really good. I still think Adam is more of a actor because when he changes the song, he also changes himself. When David Cook would change up songs, he was still himself where Adam becomes a persona for the song. Definitely this season Adam is the overall artist because he can take a variety of songs and make them work for him. He was good last night, but he isn't the second coming like Paula seems to think.

Kris is also like this in a much smaller degree. I think he is also like David Cook in that sense that he can make the song work for him and yet doesn't have to change who he is to fit the song. I don't think Kris is completely like David, but he knows the type of performer he is and how to make a song work for him which is a talent.

If it came down to buying an album from Adam or Kris, I would probably buy a Kris one simply because I like that type of music more. However, I don't know if I can say I would like him enough to be anticipating an album from him like I was with both David Cook and Chris Daughtry. I can also say that I wouldn't avoid buying a song from Adam like I was early in the season. I just don't know if it would be a lot because I still don't feel like I know what type of album he would put out because he can do bits of everything.

Wow, I really don't belong here, lol.
I'll just say that I continue to really like Danny, and not see AT ALL what you all are talking about, and if he gets eliminated tonight it will be bullshit. I will also say that I continue to think that Adam is WAAAAAAYYYYY overrated, and he was doing good until he started shrieking in the middle of the song and ruined it. I still enjoy Kris, Matt, and Anoop. I thought Allison gave her worst performance, although I still thought it was ok. And I think Lil should definitely go home.

I like Adam but I don't like him because he would put out great music - his voice is too shrill for me - I would love to see him do stage stuff - this is his gift. He is very entertaining - but to listen to his voice on an I-POD heavens to Betsy it would frankly give me a headache. I thought Adam was not good at all this week! Danny was ok! Kris was the star IMO!

My favorites and I would buy their music in a heartbeat is Kris, Danny and Allison - I like Matt too and Anoop has a great sound - Lil I really really want to like her but she just doesn't have her own sound or she just can't figure out who she is....

If Danny goes ahead of Anoop and Matt I think that would be a mistake. People may not like him (why that is I don't know - he seems like a nice man to me) Danny has they best voice in the competition. My impression from Danny is that he is shocked he is even in this competetion I think that he auditioned more because of his friend who he thought should have made it ahead of him. So if Danny goes home I don't think it would be the end of the world for him.

Dial Idol has everyone in the yellow category but looking like this:

Lil
Adam
Danny
Anoop
Matt
Kris
Allison

If Danny goes...wow...UPROAR! People will go nuts!

Adam is going to win. I just want the next four weeks to fly by. LOL.

I think it will create an uproar since they used the save on Matt! Danny should not be the one leaving that is for sure.

I was just going to post that. Also, if you look at the raw numbers and the DIHardGraphs, the busy signal data (which seems to be alot more accurate this season then the overall DialIdol data) supports VoteNumber1 and seems to indicate the bottom 3 votegetters will be Lil, Danny, and Anoop. I don't want to jinx it being Danny but at the very least he is vulnerable tonight. I had a feeling that could be the case too because, as I said last night, one of the key factors this season is not only where you perform in the order but who you perform between. Danny finally got a difficult spot in that he was between Kris and Alison. One gave a a unique, surprising performance and the other gave an energetic, rock performance so, outside of his fanbase, it was easy for people to forget about him. Kara even warned that he could be forgotten. I have to wonder if maybe the show wanted him gone. I mean, going into this week, we all suspected Matt would get a surge in voting. We just didn't know how big and if it would keep him from being eliminated. It was assumed that Lil and Anoop were very vulnerable but the show gave Anoop the last slot of the night, which is surprising because I can't see them wanting him around any longer at this point. Then you had the judges praising him (not the song but praising him) with Simon being the exception, calling it his worst performance and there is no way he can feel that way when Anoop has done far worse. It came off like Simon trying to mobilize his fanbase and like the other judges trying to convince people that he was good enough to stay. Weird.

Judging by that and where Danny performed last night (and who he performed between last night), it's almost like they kind of wanted him out if you take all factors into account going into this week. They also knew it may be a tough night for him going in so all the things that happened last night did not play to help him out at all. If you add in the fact that Danny didn't even seem like Danny last night and didn't seem into it at all, I think you have a recipe for a shocker. It was definitely his worse song choice of the competition and maybe the judge's and the show want more drama and interest so they set the stage for a shocker right after the save. Some will be angry because they used the save on Matt and interest will be piqued because the inevitable Danny/Adam finale will be no more. The competition is a bit more wide open. There was no way they were going to sacrifice Adam with all he brings to the show so they sacrifice the controversial, not as marketable Danny. Sounds plausible.

If it's Danny and Lil that goes, I will be very pleased. Sometimes the producers (I know Nigel used to but he is gone now) and sometimes the judges would hint at a shocking results night in the media but I have not heard or seen anything yet. It's shaping up like it could be a surprising night.

As for the Paula stuff, what the hell? Does that mean she may not be on-air tonight? I didn't understand that post. It made it sound like there was a big blowup over her contract or something and she may have walked off set. I still think this is just like every other judges-related rumor and it's just something arranged by the show or blown out of proportion to keep things dramatic and to keep people interesting but we'll see. Very interesting.

John Jay and Rich, the morning DJs at KISS Phoenix reported on their radio show this morning that something “big” is going to happen on tonight’s results show–something that’s never happened before.

The DJs are in Los Angeles–broadcasting from Ryan Seacrest’s studios–to attend this week’s Idol shows.

Last night, John Jay sent off a few overheated tweets hinting at something major going on in Paula’s dressing.

This morning they elaborated a bit.

While hanging out in Paula Abdul’s dressing room with her lawyer and agent, the DJs overheard discussions that spoke of Paula’s future as if leaving Idol next year was a done deal.

“They were talking as if she were done with American Idol,” said John Jay.

They also had the opportunity to hang out with the Idols on set. There, they learned the details of what will go down tonight. They were told NOT to discuss it on radio this morning.

I just hate it when anyone has to be let go ... these folks are singing their butts off. I wish them all the best. They are all really really good and from what I have read they are really Good people all of them are first class! No Diva's, they all get along, they all root for each other and help each other. I think putting them all in that one house has really drawn them together.

Kara DioGuardi Threatens to Quit Idol

We’ve heard rumors that the tension was palpable behind the scenes at American Idol, but it sounds like things got even worse after last night’s show.

After Kris Allen performed “She Works Hard for the Money,” Randy dove into his critique, only to get interrupted by Kara DioGuardi. You may not have noticed the annoyed look on Randy’s face due to the interruption, followed by Simon Cowell flipping her his middle finger, while pretending to scratch his forehead!

Yes, it all sounds very childish, but apparently this is the kind of nonsense that has been occurring all season. Ok! magazine reports that Kara saw Simon and Randy’s disdain, and got really upset.

An American Idol source tells the magazine, "She was so upset, she couldn't hold it back. Kara was telling everybody, 'I don't care anymore. I'm going to quit!' She didn't sign up to be anybody's punching bag. That's what she feels she's become."

The source continued, "She has achieved too much in the music world — a business dominated by men — to allow herself to stay in a job where she's not appreciated. It's demeaning and a waste of her time."

------------------------------------------------------

LoL, so not only was there crazy drama last night with Paula after the show, but Kara was threatening to quit? Drama, drama!

This is a shot in the dark but you don't think they will overrule yet another voting decision. That would classify as never being done before. If Danny is going, I can see them doing that, even though I can sense they are down on him.

Maybe this Paula stuff is not a joke. I wish we knew more about it. I wonder if that plays into tonight?

Either way, someone that should not be going seems to be going (I don't like Danny but he should not be leaving this early based on his talent) and no doubt there will be some uproar over Matt getting the save. That is why despite my liking Matt, I was not 100% on board with that. They probably like it this way though. The show seems to do better when there is controversy and it was getting stale. They did the save last week and now they have some big shit going down tonight, in addition to the Paula stuff, to get attention and keep people interested.

This should be the most interesting night of results this year. We really have no solid idea of what is going to happen. Even the people at DialIdol posted saying it's wide open and that no one is really safe for the first time this year. I knew Disco night was going to lead to craziness LOL.

DAMN!!

I guess it;s not really BS made up to keep people interested. I did notice how she interrupted him. Just when I thought they were all getting along...I guess the rumors of tension are true. Maybe Paula and Kara both hate it there and maybe they are closer then we all thought and maybe they are further apart from everyone else then we all thought.

I wanted Kara to stay but maybe it's for the best that she just what I suggested and just becomes a permanent Idol mentor. She seems good at it based on her segments with the booted Idols on Access Hollywood. She is good at advising, making suggestions, etc.

Maybe the big thing tonight is a judge will quit or maybe the judges won't even be present LOL.

That would be stupid. They wouldn't make such a big deal out of the save being a "one time only" thing only to turn around and save someone else, LoL. I mean, the show has to end at some point. They can't just save and save and save, because then what? Triple elimination next week?

It won't happen.

Well, they would still let one person go and just save whoever the big surprise would be.

You seriously don't think this show would do something stupid like that this year given all the other shit that has gone down? Then again, part of me thinks they want somebody good to go so there is more controversy over the save being used last week and all.

I agree it will likely not happen but it's probably going to end up being something really stupid like that which gets people pissed off.

It's probably something lame like Paula participating in the dance that she choreographed for this week's group number.
