:(

Condolences to the whole Cook family.

At least Adam got to see David make it in music before he died.

Oh my goodness. I teared up during that. I just have to give him props for not only raising money and coming to speak at the race. But he also ran in the race. This guy is a class act. Again thoughts and prayers to his entire family. It doesn't matter how long you know the end is coming, it is never easy to say good-bye to a loved one.

I just watched David Cook's winning moment from last season and came to the sad realization that no matter who wins this season, I won't care nearly as much as I did a year ago. Nobody left in the competition can top him, IMO.

I think of all the seasons of AI that is the one winning moment that touched me the most. Part of it was that I wanted him to win so bad and most other seasons I didn't completely care who won. But also it was a such a geniune moment. I know I won't feel the same about the winner (whoever it is) like I did last season.

I felt that way the first season with Kelly and last season with David. Sometimes I wish they had just ended the show last year with David Cook's win and let the show go out on a high note. It's amazing how different last season was from this one.

It just sucks that the two front runners (Danny and Adam) are people I really don't like, for completely different reasons. Kris and Allison are great, but I feel like they have no shot at winning.

Paula Abdul to Perform Her New Single on Idol This Week?

Is Paula Abdul debuting her new single, “I’m Just Here for the Music” on this Wednesday’s Idol results show?

Popdirt reports that back-up singer Lucy Woodward may have spilled some news she shouldn’t have via Twitter…

Quote:

"Singing backup for Paula Abdul on American Idol this Wednesday. Rehearsing now….reeeeeally fun! Will be hot."

Paula’s keeping mum, only teasing via her Twitter...

Quote:

"Back in the studio again today. Get ready for an exciting week. Big news to come!Stay tuned…."

Idol’s got a pretty full plate this week, with Slash, Daughtry and No Doubt performing–Paula may be taping for next week or the finale. She’s such a nervous wreck, can’t risk a meltdown with a live performance.

I think tonight will be a great night. Kris may have a rough go at it - but I like Kris so I hope he stays.

Actually I would be happy if either Kris or Danny wins at this point - Allison too. I would actually listen to music put out by either one of the three. Adam while I liked him I just can't listen to his shrilly voice - not a fan of the voice and the more over the top that Adam gets the less I like him. So for me my final three are: Alison, Kris, Danny - Final two and I don't care who wins: Danny or Kris!

I think might surprise us. He could probably find a good rock song and make it work for him.

The thing I am starting to think about with Adam is that he is a live performer. He is the type you have to see to get the full affect because everything about him is a performance. I wonder if some might get lost if you are just listening to him sing. I think he had a pretty good voice (when he isn't shrieking at the top of his lungs) but I think he is able to sell it a bit more in his performance than vocals alone.

Paula was on Ryan's radio show this morning and confirmed that she will be performing her new song on Idol tomorrow night. Ryan then premiered the song ... it was ok. I can't say that I really liked it that much, but it wasn't bad.
She was very excited though, and I am looking forward to seeing her perform.

Simon was on Ellen and he said that Kara will be back next year. I was hoping she wouldn't be. His favorite to win is Adam.
