LoL, I guess now that they've gone through just about every stunt imagineable, they have to start recycling. |

I'm kind of interested. I mean, they haven't done one of their traditional stunts in awhile. They've done little ones but nothing like this. My understanding is that it's supposed to tie-in with past events like the TMK and some other previous stunts and stories? It's also supposed to tie in with NL's return. I'm kind of intrigued because this almost seemed like a monster being unleashed on the hospital. I wish they wouldn't do the jump ahead and then backwards thing. It worked before but I don't think it's needed for this. It feels like too much IMO. |

It is two much because if my math is right this is the third time they've done something with time...There was the Metro Court, then the Black and White Ball and now this. It's an interesting concept and definitely does add mystery and intrigue to the storyline but at the same time if you over use it then it gets old. Edited by Scott, Jan 8 2009, 12:50 AM.

In addition to that, the story doesn't even really call for it. It seems big enough and dramatic enough on it's own IMO. It just seems like something to make it more appealing and bigger and it's not needed. I almost feel like they talked about how they haven't done something huge in awhile so they decided to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, out there. |

Yeah I don't know...the time thing worked really well with the Metro Court Hostage situation, it just fit really well. If they are doing another epidemic I would rather see it start and end and just flow through all the events, not flashing back and forth and what not. |

When will the people at GH realize that you can blow up all the cars and buildings you want, have as many shootouts as you want, and do all these fancy tricks to win the Emmy Gold, but it means absolutely NOTHING in terms of story and the genre's sense of self-respect? The purpose of doing a stunt story is that the characters are supposed to change and/or evolve after whatever happens. GH blows up a building and after the dust settles, the characters are still at square one. GH hasn't had a good "story" in years. Edited by bellcurve, Jan 8 2009, 10:54 AM.

Finally! Now this is a GH sweeps stunt story that I think I'm going to watch. I haven't watched GH, on an everday basis, since the Metro Court hostage. Nothing they've done since has drawn me back in. I can openly admit that I'm one of those fans that only tune in to GH for sweeps and I usually tune back out a month or two after because the writing grows stale. I don't have a problem with it. I need something to watch at 3 PM and DAYS usually sucks during sweeps. |

Why wouldn't they save this for March Sweeps? Looks great though. I don't get it LOL If Grey's Anatomy or ER would do this it would be 'awesome" General Hospital does a medical crisis at the hospital and people hate it  Edited by Rick, Jan 8 2009, 05:34 PM.

If its a purely medical crisis that sees the doctors as the heroes then I'm all for it but if its going to be another story that pimps Jason and Sonny and the mob shit then I don't want to see it at all. |

^The one thing that always bugged me, Rick, was that they never could carry the momentum beyond the stunt and it always seemed to be about killing a vet off. However, now that GH hasn't really done something big like this in awhile, it's actually made me want it. I think it helps they haven't done one of late and I like what I'm hearing about it tying back to past events. Plus, I think the fact that they are not doing it during sweeps is a good thing. It's probably why I'm attracted to it the most. It means they can use this to springboard stories into sweeps. It tells me it's not all about sweeps for them (although maybe they just forgot sweeps are in March this year LOL). I've been enjoying GH alot the past few months and I see them carrying some decent momentum into this and the fact that this will be before sweeps makes me think they will have some good momentum coming out of this too. It is weird they are starting this so soon and so early before sweeps but I'm happy they are. |

Does anyone have anything more about this storyline? What do you mean that it ties to past events? I know that in the promo, there are scenes from the hostage situation, I believe the Port Charles fire and the train wreck. What does all this mean and what does it have to do with the new epidemic? |

No one really knows. People on SON were talking about it too in the thread there that it somehow ties back to the TMK, hostage crisis, etc. I guess that is why they used all those events in the promo. I'm just as confused but that does intrigue me because it makes you wonder how they could possibly tie everything together, especially if it's clear that was never intended given there was no long range plan all this time. |
