“I love money. I don’t love spending money, but I love being in charge and counting and sorting money, so I would love to be Treasurer. But really, I’d like to be running the whole show.”
—Molly Burnett (Melanie, DAYS) on what cabinet position she’d like to fill in Soap Opera Digest
Translation: Like I am on DAYS.

 So true! But either way, I love Burnett and Melanie, so I don't care.

“Nora, that warms me inside. I only hope one day that I can warm you inside. Namaste.”
—OLTL’s David Vickeroci to Nora Gannen-Buchanan
Translation: Nelson Branco didn’t mind. In fact, he couldn’t get enough of my warmth.

A lot of fans criticize OLTL's script writers, but I think they're brilliant. You don't find this kind of dialogue on the other shows. I can't believe they get away with half the stuff they write.

I think that James Reynolds and Renee Jones were snubbed from the NAACP Nomiations. But there's no surprise there. The only show that ever really gets actors nominated is Y&R. So it's surprisingly nice to see AMC get so many nods.

I knew ABC was still interested in DAYS. That really makes me all the more hopeful that DAYS will survive once NBC decides to give it the cut.

That "tribute" video in Corday's honor is freaking awesome! I loved the part where Pink sings, "...while you pave the road to hell," and there's scenes of Melanie, Kate and Roman. RIP, John and Marlena. You will go down in the history books as the definitive DAYS couple next to Tom and Alice Horton in my book. Bo and Hope, who?

I love how GL is four months away from being cancelled and they're now listening to the fans and showcasing fan favorites. I guess by 2010, we'll be seeing Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Patsy Pease, Martha Madison, Christie Clark, Julie Pinson (when ATWT releases her), Matthew Ashford, etc. all make returns to DAYS in the final months. When will TPTB learn?

I have to agree that whoever is in charge of GL's new promos, they deserve a raise! The commercials almost make me want to watch.

Thanks Nelson .... great article by the way - really interesting information! Appreciate all your hard work and analysis. I have your site on my favorites now!

I'm not surprised that any more news about Days won't come out until after the dust settles and the ratings stabilize after D & D are gone .....

Nelson why do you think Days is the only soap to gain in viewership last year and why is the demo's for the 12 to 34 demo up for Days? Is it the Passion's guys?

F*ck if I know. It's called Ken Corday being born with a horse shoe up his arse!

So, are you guys getting depressed with "D" day coming up — Jan. 23?

Please, come join us in the spoiler thread, Nelson. Not only is the show throwing D&D out like the trash, they're writing John as paralyzed from the neck down for the last J&M scenes, when John finally remembers.

What a huge kick in the pants .... John goes from losing his memory right to being paralyzed. I'm now you can't even think that perhaps John and Marlena are off traveling the world making love ... Nope they have to make the guy paralyzed.

Plus has anyone heard or read or seen any pictures of a going away party???? did they get a send off??? A cake even???

Depends on where he is paralyzed and how. I know that Matt on PC was able to have sex and all of his parts worked. I think it is different for some paraplegics than others.

I really feel for the die-hard J&M fans right now.

I know how I felt when Eileen was let go from Y&R and my hopes were so high that Days would ask her back, only to learn that Ken Corday never even approached her. I was so furious and disheartened, I felt punched in the gut. As a fan of the show, I had never felt more unimportant and ignored. I couldn't have felt more slapped in the face if Ken Corday knocked on my front door and did it in person.

The two situations are completely different, I know. But I do understand how it feels to have the wind knocked out of you, realizing that your viewership truly means nothing to the show. It's a bitter pill to swallow. All you J&M fans have my sympathies. :(

Not only does our viewership mean nothing to the show, but it seems we are being punished and mocked by TIIC. They seemed to dream up the most insulting way possible to end their story.

And you guys are the most loyal fans in the world. It's so sad that Ken doesn't respect his fans. He takes you for granted because he knows you'll always watch. Let's change that on Jan. 24.

Stopped watching DAYS years ago, and I'll be watching only edited J&M clips from this past summer until January 23 after that day when I have it all edited.

Thanks for the report.

Dee Hall has just posted her latest Chat in which she reveals, Jeff Zucker, Prez of NBC, called on her last day thanking her for her service. That says a lot both about who Deidre is to the show and NBC and the status of the show in general!

Stick a fork in it, Days is done!

I am too after January 23, 2009!

Zucker is a moronic fuckwad. He's ruining the entire network. DOOL and The Office are the only shows I watch on NBC. Nice of him to call Deidre though.

I'm still going to watch the show when it doesn't suck. lol

Zucker calling was a nice gesture as while he may be involved with the budget issue, I can't see him being the one who decided whom to cut on Days.

To be quite frank, I'm barely watching Days already and I'm not a John/Marlena fan, just someone whose been hurt enough as it is. Watching another show self-destruct and implode due to imbecilic decisions is not my idea of fun. I hope we find out soon who else is going/going/gone.

The 23rd will be my last day. I have to see how I feel next week, because right now, I don't even want to watch D&D's last 2 weeks. The writers/produces of Days obviously wanted to come up with something that would leave J&M fans throwing one last sandwich at their screens, and I think they have succeeded. They do this all the time and then wonder why the audience turns off their TV's. They couldn't be that stupid....could they???
