Looks like the drunken, hook-up Real World might be returning. :(

The Real World will switch coasts again for its 22nd season, filming in Mexico for The Real World Cancun. That location should help continue to reverse its reputation as a drunken orgy.

The cast’s job will double as product placement, as they’re working for StudentCity.com “as guides for visiting college students,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. “They’re going to help give people a safe and fun vacation. They also might have to bail somebody out of a Mexican jail, stuff like that,” executive producer Jonathan Murry told the paper, apparently non-ironically.

Last fall, producers were casting lifeguards, “seasoned travelers who speak Spanish,” “athleticism (particularly [in] water sports),” and those with “leadership experience,” although they emphasized that those weren’t necessarily. Those all make sense considering the location.

Production company Bunim-Murray previously filmed The Real Cancun, an unscripted movie, in Cancun, although it performed poorly at the box office and ultimately earned $5.345 million despite a $7.5 million budget.
