But what it has turned into is a "lust" affair - full of those near porn scenes that for some odd reason Higley thinks will get people to tune in...

I think she sees how much in love Lucas is with Chloe and seeing as how Kate is still recovering (despite looking mighty damn good LOL) and considering Chloe's bond with Alli, Maggie thinks it's best to leave it alone. I mean, Hope did the same thing with Belle and Philip and no one said that was out of character. She chose not to say anything as long as Belle stayed away from Philip because she knew Shawn loved her and that Belle loved him too. She was going on the idea that Belle just was confused and made s mistake. Same here. Maggie is giving Chloe one more shot because she believes she loves him and knows Lucas and Alli love her. Makes perfect sense to me. Shawn and Belle were childhood sweethearts and Hope had closely observed their relationship for 8 years. Lucas/Chloe rushed into engagement after 3 months and Maggie barely knows Chloe or Daniel. She doesn't have nearly enough info to make the judgement call that Hope did (as proven by the fact that Chloe continues to bang Daniel after their convo). I don't see how the length of time matters. In regards to Shawn and Belle, Hope actually had reasons to be concerned even before she slept with Philip because of all the past issues Belle and Shawn had. Lucas and Chloe have had no problems that were known, at least until now with Daniel. Alli loves her. Lucas loves her. Chloe saved Kate's life. She helped Lucas through a tough time after what happened with Sami. Chloe and Maggie have had numerous talks and I think Maggie feels she does love and care about Lucas, regardless of how long they've been together. The other thing too is Lucas has been hurt alot in his life and Maggie has to be concerned about that. I mean, Lucas has been cheated on before. I think Maggie is just giving Chloe another chance and if she continues this thing with Daniel, that will be it for Maggie and she will tell him. For me, it's the same chance Hope gave Belle last year.

Just that it was a lesser version of the twist of Hope catching Belle and Philip last Fall. You said you wouldn't argue with anyone claiming "this" is becoming a ripoff of Hope/Philip/Belle/Shawn. I�m not the one who believes the ratings are directly connected with who is and isn�t on but I was really shocked how good the numbers were for the engagment party/Danloe lust fest which was merely a filler. The story certainly created the buzz, like it or hate it, so I�m not surprised they are backtracking a little, trying to give the affair more substance, and maybe even thinking to continue with it beyond the wedding. Something had to change because even SC and NB are much more enthusiastic and are doing their best to promote the show and their story lately. And it gets a lot of airtime, it�s actually the "B" story of the show right now.

Whether you liked it or not, the story of Lucas and Chloe was built up a bit. And the two seemed happy. This random, vulgar hookup after Dr. Dirty examines Chloe is extremely objectionable and how anyone can characterize it as love, is beyond me. Sometimes I really feel sorry for the things actors have to say to promote the crap that passes as entertainment in this soap climate.

Thinking about the topic of couples with Buzz, these days I can't think of any couple other than Nuke (ATWT) and Otalia (GL) that have any.

(Now, granted, this is NOT on boards where there tends to be a big Chloe-related fanbase of any type. Just sayin'.) But, I've seen more and more general fans admit to being attracted to this storyline, even in a trainwreck sort of way. Plus, it's because we don't know how it'll end. It's not predictable. Maybe it is sleeze, but for some, it's an intriguing sleeze of one sort or another.

Streetcorner Philosopher Posts: 1,088 Group: Elite Member Member #41 Joined: June 14, 2007	I saw a mention of the Chloe/Daniel love scenes on some Yahoo-connected site with a headline referring to how they were the "steamiest" scenes ever on daytime. So I think they might be catching attention that way. I don't understand why Maggie's involved at all if she's not going to say anything. But then, I don't understand this storyline overall- nobody's behavior makes sense to me.
