I know Maggie may think she is protecting Lucas, but she is not. Secret have a way of coming out. Hell i just wish she tell him that way we can see how Kate will react.
Kate!.....I can't wait to see how Victor reacts I know I will totally be LMAO!

I have a bit of very general Lucas/Chloe info beyond the time-frame in the SOD/SOW preview. Maggie does eventually tell Lucas about Chloe & Daniel, and he calls off the engagement/breaks up with Chloe. He then falls off the wagon, and gets into a car accident while drunk. He is injured, but survives. (this happens late February).

I'm glad Maggie is getting airtime, but it's also a little sad because it just reminds me that Alice Horton will most likely never be seen again. :( but I am happy Maggie is the matriarch

I won't ask how you know but is your source reliable? If so, then that sounds good. Very good, actually.

It makes me think the show really has changed their minds. Chloe/Daniel were going to leave together but now maybe they are keeping them around. I can't see the secret coming out this quick through Maggie and one or both leaving because it kind of makes them save face a bit. It would've been worse for it all to come out near or at the wedding.

I have to wonder if between the explosion and the car accident, Lucas and Chloe come back together as long as she promises to be through with Daniel. Then she can't seem to stay away from him and betrays Lucas only for it to come out in the worse way possible at her wedding to Lucas. That would make it even worse!

I'm really getting into this story now LOL.

That is the only downside and I have to wonder if that maybe why we are getting so much of her.

That and with Marlena gone, I think the show needs someone onscreen a good amount of the time to be the "talk-to" character and the person that kind of holds things together. The show needs a calming force and an emotional "heart" or "center" and who better then Maggie Horton, a member of Days' core family.

Many have been calling for Maggie to get more screentime for years and we are finally getting it. I'm pelased but I wish we could see Alice for sure.

Maggie getting screentime for whatever reason is always nice, but I'd guess it's probably because she's below her guarantee or something like that. Often when any actor is on a lot like this after having been largely offscreen for a while, that's why. Unfortunately, I don't think the show is motivated by anything more than that at this point.

Hi Phoenix Rising -- yes, my source is reliable. But as I said, I only got that general tidbit; I don't know any details.

Oh my Lucas!! I kind of wanted him to fall off the wagon, because I think it would make for good material for BD ... oh but an accident?!?!?! YIKES. Stupid Chloe. *grumbles*
I hope that Sami will rush to be there for Lucas during this time! That would be a fantastic way to revisit Lumi, and Sami sure as heck owes Lucas at least that much, for how much he has been there for her! Oh, I just hope this really means actual good story for Lucas ... dare I hope!?!

Normally, I would agree but when is the last time MAGGIE saw this much airtime?

It's different for characters like Steve, Kayla, Bo, Hope, etc. Maggie is one who usually only appears in scenes at Chez Rouge or at family gatherings or something like that. In the past few months, they seem to have made an effort to involve her in things and not just have her appear. First, they tied her in with Melanie and now they got her involved in the Lucas/Chloe/Dan stuff. Not to mention they even had her be the one to find the killer. There is a difference between using somebody and just having them appear. They are actually using her.

This reminds me of the way they began using Caroline last year. It's like Maggie is filling the role she did in terms of screentime this year. Sure, after September, we no longer saw Caroline as much, ifat all. She kind of went back to her normal amount of screentime but we also got a solid 9 months of seeing Caroline around 8 times a month. Maggie is starting out that way this year too and I think that is great. I don't expect them to be frontburner but I do like them being used in supporting roles like this and I don't think it has anything to do with guarantees. It seems like certain writers and/or producers will sometimes pick a fave or someone they like and use them. I remember JER liked to use Caroline alot and he also used Julie alot his second run. Higley seemed to like using Caroline last year and Victor. Contrast that with some other writers in recent years and you will see that characters like Maggie did not get all that much at all so it depends on the regime in that regard IMO. I'm thinking Tomlin and/or Whitesell must like Maggie because since they came in we've seen more of her then we have in years.

^^ Ok - we'll have to agree to disagree about the screentime, but I do agree with you that different writers can choose to use a character in different ways. (Though I am torn about whether Maggie's scenes with Chloe are an improvement over greeting guests at a restaurant. I'll have to think about that one.)

I think they are . . . and I definitely prefer them to Maggie propping Melanie and telling her to "be good to herself."

LOL true - and by the way, just to clarify, my post was a Chloe bash, not a Maggie bash. I was just thinking that Nadia's version of Chloe's baring her soul is not that different than anyone telling you how many in their party at a restaurant. Of course Maggie's response is different though.

Oh, I knew who you were bashing. :) I'd still rather see Maggie's confrontation with Chloe over her affair with Daniel than even one second of Melanie any day, though.

Hmmmm.... not sure which I think is worse. Poor Maggie, though, to have to be used for garbage like this (in either case).

I don't want Lucas with Chloe. Lucas needs someone, yes! He needs to find someone who will not screw him over. I always thought of Chloe as the rebound girl anyway.
