This summer is looking very bleak with Chelsea and Max leaving. Stephanie and Melanie will be the leads of the younger crowd. YAWN!

Since Stephanie has been paired with Philip, she has become more independent and a stronger character IMO. She's also shown more personality and I think she has the potential, if they keep this up of course, to be a fantastic heroine. Plus, she can act. She showed that during the crazy Steve story and during the rape story. She has talent. As for Melanie, she's fiery and passionate. In some ways, she reminds me of early Sami Brady. She has really no one on her side but a few people and she's either hated or misunderstood by the rest. Her relationship with Maggie and with Max are fantastic. Max is a great conscience and sounding board for her. They are sort of like the sibling version of 90's Lucas and Sami only Max does not help in Melanie's plans much. She is intelligent and acts older then she she is. Her relationship with Philip has an explosive feel to it. Molly Burnett has talent and proved that during the Nick story. She also has great comedic timing. I just worry now that she is losing Max with Darin leaving. Really, all she has left is Maggie and I guess her and Brady can be said to be friends but that's it. So, I enjoy both of them but I voted for Stephanie because she's been around longer and I think Shelley is a bit more talented then Molly. Plus, I think the up side on Stephanie is much greater in the long-term then Melanie, at least at this point.

I like the character and I like SH and I wouldn't want to get rid of her. I loathe Melanie and if they're not going to have a guy in her approximate age range I don't see what the point of keeping her around is. According to SOD Darin Brooks is gone, so Melanie literally has no family in Salem and no ties to anyone on canvas. Now, I don't mind having people around who are unrelated to core families, in fact it's necessary, but they made a huge mistake IMO making Melanie 18. She's out of Will's age range but she's completely and totally unbelievable, not to mention disgusting, with the older men they've put her in scenes with. If she left town I would throw a party. MB is reasonably talented and when Melanie's only function is to provide comic relief I don't mind her, but otherwise, I can't stand the character.

I watched her in her scenes with Nicole and with Chelsea/Max and actually liked her. I cannot stomach her with Philip and I realized that it's HIM and not her. He just doesn't click with her. I love him in every other SL but not with her. Does anyone else think he (Jay) is phoning-in his scenes with Shelley?

I actually love these two together...they are one of my favorite couples! I think they have great chemistry with each other. I used to like Philip before BUT never really cared all that much about him (he was OK)...I like him so much more now since they paired him with Stephanie. She's grown on me so much since she first came on Days...maybe its because she actually has 'grown up' since those first months. Looking forward to their s/l developing further! :wub: As for Melanie...she's really not a believable match for Philip, imo. She's so childish & bratty! I get a kick out of her character (comic relief) but definitely do NOT want her with Philip. eww! Edited by KEL, Apr 10 2009, 11:56 AM.
