May Sweeps Preview

On the heels of Kay and Murphy's happy nuptials this week, wedding bells are slated to ring for two more Genoa City couples this May. Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner fills us in on the love stories to watch and the characters to be wary of.

May Weddings: "There's going to be a coming together of some characters who have known each other for a very long time. For them to find each other is going to be a very satisfying twist. One is a very unexpected romance."

Sharon/Jack/Nick/Phyllis: How far will Sharon, Jack, Nick and Phyllis go to hold onto love? "We are turning that foursome upside down and all bets are off. Phyllis has a lot of fear that she has internalizes. Her buttons have been pushed. She's going to be very unpredictable."

Victor/Nikki/Ashley: "Victor, Nikki and Ashley are going to have a huge storyline. It's going to involve the Abbott family, as well as all of the Newmans, and it's going to revisit a lot of show history. It's a brilliant new way to make that triangle a very vital, front-burner story."

Adam: "Expect more and more darkness within Adam. He's complicated in the same way his father is and holds grudges very much like Victor. He can feel and know what the wrong thing or right thing is to do in any given situation and often chooses the wrong thing."

Billy/Chloe/Mac: "Billy is turn between the draw of having a family with Chloe and the draw of an old romantic interest, Mac. The historical obstacle of Billy and Mac being related is no longer there, but he now has a wife and a child. Billy's feelings for Chloe are sometimes deeper than he is aware of or acknowledges, so it's not an easy choice between one woman and the other."

Mary Jane: "Mary Jane has a very dark side. She's willing to go to any lengths to get what she wants. The complications and the twist in this story are going to be about this very carefully crafted plan going awry."

Katherine/Jill: "The estrangement that developed during the time that Jill thought Kay was Marge has opened some old wounds and generated some new wounds. The intensity of feelings both women are having now are very extreme. The love they feel for each other and their broken-heartedness about losing that mother/daughter relationship is going to generate a lot of fireworks. It's going to be a fight for both of them as to whether they choose to continue in this relationship or not."

Kevin: Kevin fights to come to terms with how the tragedy of his abusive past still impacts his life. "It's a story about hope because Kevin is a survivor. Michael will be the one who is the most instrumental in reaching Kevin and helping him see that this kind of setbach is not proof that he's a hopeless case. Rather, he needs to dig deeper within himself to find what he needs to move forward and triumph.

Returning Favorites: More beloved faces from the past will reappear in Genoa City. "We're trying to embrace the idea that story begets story. It's safe to say the returns of these popular characters from the show's history are going to affect every character on the canvas."

I would have rather heard from Hogan Sheffer, but whatever.

I really think Kevin and Amber are going to be the third married couple, joining Katherine and Murphy and Cane and Lily. Amber will marry Kevin so she won't have to testify.

Unpredictable Phyllis is love! While I love Nick and Sharon together, I can't wait to see what kind of hell Phyllis puts them through. Get Jack out of this storyline ASAP!

This is one triangle that should be stale and tiresome, but I honestly love every time they go back to it. It never gets old to me.

I really believe that Adam is faking his blindness. And if he is, and the Newmans find out, I don't see how he could ever be forgiven or redeemed.

I'm starting to see some chemistry between Billy and Mac, so I'm all for this triangle now.

I wish they would just tell us if she is a character from the past or a brand new person. Wait! On second though, I don't. That's why the suspense is so great. Take a lesson, DAYS!
