Best soap line I've heard/read in a while.

(Discussing Grant Harrison)

Jamie: Son of a bitch!

Rachel: Having met his mother, I agree with you.

I nearly spit out my drink laughing considering that I remember the saga of Justine.

I was cracking up to at that line!

The first episode was written very well. And I'm quite content with the characters that are currently being featured. I do hope we get to see Paulina though at some point.

I like the way things are starting off, so far, as we seem to have 2 primary storylines launching -- Grant's return for Kirkland and Felicia's disappearance with the sub-story of Jamie/Marley. I think once things get moving, we'll see more characters. Of course, this early on, a lot of space is being devoted to reminded people of who's who and their respective histories.

This is such a wonderful idea. I rcently began to search for online videos from Another World because I missed it so much. My favorite couple was Carl and Rachel so I am glad they are still together. I hope that Vicky and Jake come back to life like Grant. The picture of Grant looks great also.

Since I gave up on Days I have been living on fan fic's and this is just what this is, a fan fic about an entire beloved soap. Great idea and can't wait for more. :cheer:

Episode 2 is UP! Gosh, I love how they throw the little tidbits of backstory and history into the narrative. Also, I could really see Anna Stuart acting out those Anna scenes (as well as Lisa Peluso as Lila). It's funny how nonchalant everyone is about Grant being alive, making the point of noting that it's not exactly an unheard of occurance in Bay City.

In regard to plot developments...

Also, there's a nice interview with Linda Dano. :)

Melrose Is Back!

I'm loving this! I also really like the interviews and making this almost a true continuation and not just some fan fiction thrown together. It's nice!

Anyone still reading. I loved that Carl is going to regress back to his old ways. Rachel throwing that paper weight through the window was amazing LOL

My vote for the week went to Kirk deciding to live with Grant.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get this. It seems a way to prove that we need less TV soaps if people will read them online. Actors lose jobs, but due to hits, the production companies make profits. Although, on that note, I can't fathom what kind of profit that is. IT's not an ad-heavy site. So, what's the point?

I think it's just doing something nice for fans, in lieu of actually recreating the show. I'm sure they're not expecting to make any kind of profits from it, LoL.

Don't think that they're just doing this to be nice to fans. They wouldn't be doing this if there weren't some kind of profit involved. They may be testing the waters now, but the story won't continue if there's no money to be made from it eventually.

The site has banner ads and such. They may be doing it to increase interest in their shows in general (like ATWT) and the episodes posted on hulu of AW. If they were like Trek, they could be doing this to see if there is a market to sell the continuation in book form.

^Now this I can understand, wrap my brain around at least. But Mason, if they're paying someone to write this stuff, there has to be a profit, lol. No one's just nice these days. I still think it's dangerous territory. These text soaps also can garner high enough viewerships to warrant 'testing' ATWT and other spinoffs, which then became the actual soaps (without actors). I just see a bad sign here. It's great that fans get to see their stories continued; but, I wonder, at what cost? And if this fizzles, will it not leave fans thinking something that sounds very similar to the old "They should've just ended "Passions" on NBC" rants? I can't imagine any text-based series finale rivaling that of the incredible Rachel/Carl scene.
