According to executive producer Darren Swimmer, on Twitter, the cut of the pilot finished this past week and then it was screened by a focus group, with favorable results and the executives at the CW "were not disappointed" and post production continues. It should definitely be a lock for the fall schedule. CAST: Laura Leighton as Sydney Andrews Thomas Calabro as Dr. Michael Mancini Shaun Sipos as David Patterson Ryan Eggold as Ryan Matthews (not completely confirmed) Katie Cassidy as Ella Simms Colin Egglesfield as Auggie Kirkpatrick Michael Rady as Jonah Miller Jessica Lucas as Riley Richmond Stephanie Jacobsen as Lauren Bishop Ashlee Simpson-Wentz as Violet Foster |

There was actually a rumor going around that Marcia Cross (ex-Kimberly) would appear in a three episode arc, but considering she's contracted to Desperate Housewives, she's repeatedly said she won't appear and wishes the show well, and the main fact is that the Pilot JUST wrapped and Darren Swimmer (ex. producer) has flat out said they're still writing story-arcs for the characters. So, it won't happen. Daphne Zuniga (ex-Jo) just recently said she also wishes the show well but won't return (regularly) although she's up for a guest appearance. |

I didn't buy the Marcia Cross rumors. Maybe if Melrose is still on the air when DH end. I'm glad the pilot is getting buzz. I think this will turn out much better then the 90210 remake. |

I don't see Marcia Cross ever appearing on the new show - DH or no DH. I don't blame Heather for asking for $100 grand per episode. If it weren't for her, the original MP wouldn't have lasted past its first season and there would be no spin-off/remake. I am very excited for this, and I definitely think it'll turn out better than 90210 did (though that show has gotten lightyears better in the last several episodes). |

I agree if it weren't for Heather, there would've been No season 2 of Melrose. I too cannot wait until the new Melrose starts, I LOVED LL, Syd! So it's exciting to see her back. Does anyone know if she is going to be a series regular or a recurring character? Because it would be awesome to have her on as a regular. |

As of right now, I think Laura Leighton is just going to be making recurring appearances a la Jennie Garth on 90210. |

It is for the CW.....As of 2008, Tom Welling was the only actor on the network making $100,000 - $150,000....after 8 seasons of Smallville. And that was after two main actors left/dropped to recurring. Edited by Nubia, May 4 2009, 05:12 PM.

Update from Kristen at E!: Susan in Chicago: Any news on the new Melrose Place redo? I loved the original so much. It's shaping us nicely from what we hear. Apparently both the storylines and the sets positively scream "original Melrose Place." |
