They could have just killed Lexie off. Have a red-head dead in the pool and then explain it away over a few episodes. I get they want to use "flashbacks" but it seems like such a waste to bring Syd back from the dead, go through all the trouble to explain it, only to have her dead in the first episode.

I'm only hoping we'll have a big twist in the end and Syd turns up alive for the third time, LoL!

The whole twist would be less absurd if they weren't bringing back a character from the dead, just to kill her again. I know many of my friends were excited about Sydney's return. I fear this is going to leave a bad taste in many people's mouths.

It'll definitely leave a bad taste. It's a slap in the face to fans. I can hear the writers already. "Ha! We fooled you!"

Agreed. This show has already pissed me off majorly and it hasn't even started yet.

It's also stupid to play it out like they are -- killing her in the first episode and then explaining the mystery through flashbacks all season. I mean, everybody knows what the outcome will be: Sydney dead. Beyond that, why would anyone care about the lame backstory to it?

Talk about knocking all the wind out of the sails.

I'm going to predict right now that Michael's the killer. And then I'll be doubly pissed off.

I do think the killer will be someone from the original show. I doubt they'll make any of the new characters the killer.

Nah, it'll be a new character, IMO. It's apparent that they don't want the show to be "all about the originals," hence Sydney's getting killed in the first five minutes. The killer will definitely be a newbie.

That's exactly why I think it will be an old character - that way, whoever the killer is, they can just ship them off to prison, and it'll be one less original they'll have to worry about.

Awesome explanations. David's existence explained (I still don't get how Michael can have a 20-something kid) and there will be a NEW Shooters! Sweet! I always hated when they got rid of Shooters in the original and we were stuck with Kyle's lame restaurant and club.

I didn't understand their explanation for David and Michael at all, actually. I'm just as confused as before - if not moreso.

I'm very happy that Shooters will be back! That was as much a part of MP as the Peach Pit was to BH 90210.

I think this could only work if we found out that Michael got someone pregnant before he was married to Jane (Which wouldn't be surprising).

I also wonder if they will reference the children he had with Taylor and Jane.

This show would've been DOA had Heather Locklear returned only to be killed off in the pilot. They should be happy she turned them down.

As this was suppose to be a big secret why has it been leaked so blatantly. The show bio then the clip meant it was sooo simple to geuss it was Sydney who was dead. Is this tog et people talking all summer or could it be a red herring maybe

So is Sydney some sort of major character from the original series? I say kill her and dance on her grave. :P

And so goes my interest in the show...even if Jane's coming back or whatever.
