'My Name Is Earl' might see new life on TBS
Cable network in talks to order 13 new episodes

Weeks after NBC pulled the plug on the series starring Jason Lee, TBS is in preliminary talks to order 13 new episodes of the single-camera comedy from 20th Century Fox TV, sources said.

"My Name Is Earl" became one of the highest-profile cancellations at this past upfronts and rumors were sparked that the series, which has won five Emmys, might find another home.

The four-year-old "Earl" would make a good fit on TBS, which will start running repeats of the series starting in the fall as part of a deal with Twentieth inked in 2007.

Still, sources stressed that a deal for new episodes of "Earl" is still far from a lock as the two sides have to figure out if an expensive network single-camera series can be produced under a basic cable network's economic model.

Also, while they're still under a hold at 20th TV, the show's cast has yet to be lined up for a lower-budget reincarnation of the series at TBS.

While it has been considered several times, a cable afterlife for canceled broadcast series has rarely panned out.

For instance, Showtime flirted with the idea of picking up Fox's Emmy-winning single-camera comedy "Arrested Development" after it was canceled, but a deal couldn't be reached.

Have you watched the trilogy? (Flesh, Trash, Heat)

You should also check out the ultra cheesy "Flesh for Frankenstein" & "Blood for Dracula"

I added Joe's "The Gardener" to my Netflix Queue. I heard it was baaaad but I gotta see it.

A creepy gardener (Joe Dallesandro) who has the ability to turn himself into a tree spends his spare time feeding his plants human flesh -- which only makes them crave the taste of blood. Obsessed with a beautiful woman who resists his affections, he sends her a bouquet of his people-eating posies and lets his bloodthirsty blooms do the dirty work
